Teema Although she was still very flustered by the gash that the goblin arrow hat cut into her shoulder, the white-feathered harpy couldn't help but be incensed when one of the goblins shouted that they were going to be eating human tonight. For one Teema was very much not a human and nobody else was either. But more importantly, these were her new friends that they were planning to eat. "Nuh-uh!!" As she was clutching her position above in the branches of the trees, she had to accept that these goblins were just too good at being silent for her to hear them from so far away. She listened to Hex's mental reaffirmations of what was the best for her to do right now and it really helped her calm down a little that someone was right there for her to guide her through this forest combat. ~Okay! I'll always help Girdan!~ Although the blood harpy's lucent eyes were still widened and the shocked expression on her face suggested that this was still a little much for her, Teema had actually regathered enough spirit to do what came next. The goblins seemed to outmaneuver her male companions, but the petite avian knew that she could just fly over the underbrush and even if these arrows were really pointy and scary, she knew that she couldn't just let Girgadan face these enemies alone. Suddenly she remembered the common dagger which was sheathed across the small of her back and with a bit of gymnastis right beneath the canopy she unsheated the iron and swapped it over into one of her clawed feet. Since Teema required her wings free for her flight, she had practiced using her claws to handle throwing daggers and such. It was a trick that she was particularly proud of, even though she obviously couldn't compete with a real rogue or knife performer. As Girgadan wildly burst through the underbrush, Teema also catapulted herself forward and flew in a straight line through the trees until she finally got the rampaging orc back into her sight. I'll do it! I'm really fighting like an adventurer! The little harpy still wasn't sure how to feel about that, but it was certainly still exhilarating. While keeping her forward momentum, Teema got herself ready to throw her dagger mid-flight, some added difficulty which she in fact had not practiced so far but her enthusiasm led her to believe that she'd surely be able to do it.

Roland This blasted arrow hurts. Roland peeked around his tree just in time to see the elvish looking fellow push forward with his bow readied. "Good idea, chap." He whispered to himself, G16moving up to take the cover his battle companion had just vacated. His gray eyes scanned constantly for the goblins but they proved elusive for the moment. Sneaky devils... He Ready Javelin Attack: Natural 1hefted his javelin and winced. The chances of him landing a blow were slim, but he couldn't stomach the thought of hiding while the others took care of the threat.

I'm going to highlight a few key tactical pointers each round. Hiding behind trees gives your cover, but it also gives your opponent cover by limiting the character's Line of Sight. Girgadan stepped on G3 and used his reaction to attack with a Javelin. The Goblin began moving, but Hex shot it on the move. I was pretty permissive with LoS this round, trees break the Goblins' LoS, but it also breaks the PC's LoS.

IC A Deadly Dance Galen and Hex maneuvered through the trees, looking for an advantageous position to snipe at the Goblins. In contrast, Girgandan let out an Orcish roar and began running through the underbrush. Girgadan stepped on a Goblin. It was an interesting question of who was more surprised - the Goblin or Girgadan. However, the Goblin was able to run away. As the fleeing Goblin turned to shoot at Girgadan, a blast of Eldritch power knocked it off its feet. Meanwhile, Roland moved forward and readied a Javelin. Girgadan was the apparent target for the Goblin. Three Goblins popped out of hiding and shot at the Orcish Barbarian. The first Goblin scored a critical hit and had a moment of joy before Galen's arrow took its life. The second Goblin hit the Barbarian and was able to dodge Teema's dagger. However, it didn't have time to get out of the adventurers' line of sight. The Goblin was able to shoot the Barbarian and Despite being hit by three Goblin arrows, Girgadan was still hale and hearty. Three of their companions were dead, and the large Orcish Barbarian had just shrugged off three attacks. The Goblin morale broke. One of the Goblins called out from cover, "Fall Back, Advance to the Rear."

Girgadan "joHwI', molDajdaq qeylIS qa'lI' boSam." Translation: These souls are your Gruumsh help me cover my axe in their bloodscreamed the Barbarian. He was really into his Rage and had a habit of slipping back into Orcish when he got excited this way. He couldn't be blamed though his heroic (or daft) dash through the undergrowth had worked as (un)expected and he was lifted by the anguished screams of other Goblins around him. Not knowing how many were left but sure he had seen some one on the other side of the trail he dashed over axe and shield in hand desparate to cleave one of those foolish enough to fire an arrow at him. Not sure if the rest could see him he waved his axe shouting "CRUSH THEM ALL!"

Hex (Click for Sheet) @James Zapata Hex cackled at the half-orc warrior's infectious display of guts and great strength as he barreled straight towards one of the goblins. The sneaky shortstack got away, but not from the half-drow's eldritch blast. Two down! He smiled as Girgadan's screams broke the goblins' morale. He didn't speak their tongue, but they were starting to retreat. Hex aimed another blast at one of the visible archers. "Not so fast..." "Teema, once more to Girgadan's aid!"

It seemed the tides were turning slightly in the party’s favor. Girgadan had flushed out one goblin and the other had either revealed their positions or gave some clues about what direction they were in.

Being a bit reckless and changing his mind about falling back, the ranger moved up again to see if he could take another shot at a Goblin.

Teema Teema watched her dagger fly past the goblin as it dodged away and even though she was deeply disappointed, she had to admit to herself that whenever she had practised her knife throwing it had only ever been at non-moving targets. Before she could lose her freshly gained spirit though, Girgadan's charge dominated the goblins so much that they called for retreat. As the orc kept charging, Hex also mentally kept encouraging the harpy to keep advancing, and that was what it took to convince her that maybe this kind of combat was all right. Teema was still scared of goblin arrows flying at her and making her regret that she was now an adventurer, but her blood was also pumping now, and so she flew as fast as she could, leaving the right half of the forest to burst out between the trees. There from above the path, she spotted the goblin that had shouted orders before, which meant he was the same one that had wanted to make the adventurers into a meal. For that, Teema meant to hurt him. As she raised her voice into a shrieking scream, the avian magically focused her cry straight at the goblin behind the tree, at the same time mentally replying to Hex. ~Look! They're fleeing! From me too!~ Then, as she didn't want to get shot back at, Teema tried to dart back between the trees before she got stuck like an oversized pigeon. I have to stay a fast harpy!

IC Run for your lives The Goblins morale appeared to have broken. However, the PC were not going to allow them to regroup Galen and Hex maneuvered through the trees. Hex moved forward and blasted the one Goblin who had failed to hide. Badly injured, the Goblin continued to move away. Girgandan let out an Orcish roar and began running through the underbrush. This time he didn't run over a Goblin. although that was like because the Goblins had thrown caution to the winds and were running away as fast as the could. Teema viciously mocked one of the Goblins as they ran away.

Girgadan Seeing the last Goblin dash off quicker than he could pursue and not wanting to waste any more of his javelins the Half-Orc stopped running and gave his axe a sad look. Just a bit of Shark blood and some leaves were all to show from his efforts at vanquishing some Goblins, oh and a few new holes peeking through his clothes and skin. Tiny scars - better than no scars but at least his companions got some Glory. "Aye Hex, back to the Inn. I fancy a keg of non-Fey ale would go down a real treat right about now." He adjusts his gear, looking at the undergrowth he decides his thrown Javelin is gone for good, and trudges back towards the trail and the rest of the group. "If this door is still paying then the first Keg is on me" - he does that thing with his face again I will let them decide if I'm smiling this time and brushes some twigs from his hair. "So who did get to put some Goblins down. How about you Galen? You look mighty handy with that bow, better than these throwing sticks on my back. Even those Goblin dogs wouldn't bother to catch any of mine. Saying that perhaps you had better luck Roland, catch any goblin dogs? Or you Teema, I see you're scarred - marked like a warrior."

The ranger lowered his bow as he heard the goblins retreat into the brush and trees from the direction they had come. He relaxed as he stepped onto the path just down from Girgadin.

“I got one for sure, maybe even a second. Although I don’t would have had much luck had you not flushed them out. They were quite clever using the thick brush for cover and not showing themselves until the last second.

“ I would welcome a longer break between these rooms, I’ll buy the second round of drinks, if we stay in the Shield that long,’ the elf offered as the rest of the group collected themselves.

Teema Just as soon as Teema had taken cover behind the closest trees again, the goblins decided to change their meal schedule and turned tail with their goblin bows between their legs. Not literally, but the small avian was relieved and elated at the same time anyways. Her shoulder was still bleeding and she hadn't even paid attention to it for the last few seconds, but now that the battle seemed to have ended and Hex reminded her telepathically that she was indeed injured, the pain returned at once. With flaps of her winged arms Teema landed next to the half-elven warlock, biting her bottom lip and inadvertently showing that her teeth were a lot more pointy than was agreeable. "Nuh uh! It doesn't hurt! I'm good!" The blood harpy shook her head vehemently, but it was blatantly obvious that she was putting up a front, and doing a bad job of it too. Just as Girgadan rejoined them and spoke of this combat's tale, his comment about getting scarred reminded Teema that she was still carrying his healing supplies and also the potion that Percy had left with her. Frantically she pulled out bandages and began haphazardly wrapping her bleeding shoulder, but going by her wide lucent eyes she knew that she wasn't doing that good of a medical job. "I don't want a scar! I want to be pretty!!" Dropping the barbarian's healing kit on the forest floor, the petite harpy took the healing potion in both of her feathery hands and began fumbling around to uncork it. "That's going to make it go away, right?! It will heal it?!"

IC Welcome to the Show This time the door opened onto a theatre or, perhaps more accurately, an indoor amphitheater. A stone isle slanted gently down to a stone stage; low stone benches arced to either side. The ceiling was about forty feet high, and the entire area is light with floating ghostly lights, except for one magical spotlight that shines onto the stage. The rear of the stage holds a banner stating - Live from their tour in the Fey Wilds - Chaos and Havoc. As the PCs enter the theatre, an Elven woman appeared on the stage. the Elven woman was dressed in a curious costume - a blue leotard that left her arms and legs bare. However, she wore a conical peaked hat like a wizard. There was a fanfare of trumpets, and the Elven Woman announced, "Weclome Honored Guests, Please come on down and take a seat."

After having some time to recoup from the ordeal with the Goblins in the forest, the ranger and some of the others decided to have another go through The Door, hoping to find something less glamorous than the Never Ending party and less heart pounding than the Goblins.
The weightless sensation was brief as they settled into back row of what appeared to be indoor theatre. Galen had never been in one. This was a much nicer and gentler introduction to society than the fey party a few hours before.

“Curious,” he whispered as the blue clad elf bid them welcome and to find a seat. Hesitantly Galen walked down the asile and took a seat on the Zone 3right hand side about three rows back from the stage. He un-slung his bow from his shoulder and lay it in his lap keep his eyes on the stage and the elf.
