Hi!

I'm new here, but not new to PbP gaming. I typically enjoy anime role playing within the magical girl and science fiction genres, and I enjoy experimenting with new and different gaming systems. In my spare time I admin my own anime-centric gaming site and I'm building my own MMORPG using Unreal Engine 5! Give it ten years, you may see it somewhere on the internet. LOL I'm just your average run of the mill Geek Girl.

I prefer to play game systems that specialize in anime, since I'm a Registered Otaka. So I've played Big Eyes Small Mouth 2e, 3e, learning 4e, ShadowRun 4e, and I have Anime 5e, Anime Action, Anime Campaign, Big Eyes Small Mouth 1e, BESM d20, Dungeons and Dragons 3.5e, Fate, Magical Fury, Maid RPG (with Mascot-tan, Schoolgirl RPG, and Retail Magic), OVA and Sparks (as well as a few I've probably forgotten about), all bought, paid for, and collecting dust on my hard drive.

An excerpt from a fan fiction I wrote...

I had just finished buttering the toast and was ready to enjoy my first slice when the ship bounced gently, causing the toast to land butter-side down on the floor.
“Oh, um, excuse me.” I said, and I reached down to pick it up. Immediately, an alarm blazed, and some of the lights turned red and began blinking.
“Breakfast is over.” Lindy said as she stood up, along with Chrono and Amy. Nanoha and I watched for a couple of seconds as what had just happened sunk in.
“Come on, Nanoha.” Both of us stood up and jogged behind the others. The toast remained on the floor.
As soon as we reached the bridge, I knew something was very wrong. The tension was high, and the view-screen showed an event horizon in front of us.

I love the username! Where does it come from?

It sounds like you are an experienced player. Truth in lending, I'm a D&D guy (5e now but my favorite is AD&D) who enjoys fantasy, but I have played many other RPG systems. If you are looking for a place to role play, and not just roll play, this is it. Well, there is some incredible role playing going on here. I thought I was a a pretty good story teller, but I have been put to shame by the quality of some of the players...and I have learned a lot. I sent a link to one such site I've been lucky enough to be a part of below. Of course, there are plenty of hack and slash games too, so take your pick.

You may want to check out a solo game. Even if you have PbP experience each site is a bit different.

This is a place where the people are welcoming, where the games are interesting, and where generally they only expect you to post a few times a week. I've been playing D&D for a very long time and I thought I've seen it all, but this site has some amazing games going on. I've been playing (storytelling as much as rolling) for a bit over two years now in a game that has been going on continuously for four decades, started tabletop and moved online two decades ago. It's set in an alternate Europe where the worlds of Tolkien and Howard existed in ages past. So there is a hint of LOTR and a hint of Conan in it and since it's set in an alt Europe it somehow feels familiar.

This is just one example and there are other great campaigns on RPGX. You should take some time to "stroll around" the site and see if anything catches your eye.

Actually, I've been a GM for about ten years on a former site I admin'd, and I haven't had much luck starting a new site so, here I am. I'm just really looking for friendly players to play post-style with. I love the style, as it's easy on the schedule, can be intense, or laid back, but well composed (and edited, if necessary).

I do prefer to stay within the anime worlds though, specifically magical girls and sci-fi are my favorites. I got a little burned out on Middle Earth several years ago. (sorry, LOL). I do plan on reading some of the role plays to be found here. I find a lot of entertainment in old games.
