Yeah, I'm pretty sure that almost everyone in America has played on some sort of soccer team in their life.

Because, let's face it. Soccer is the easiest sport to play. Now, don't get that confused with easiest sport to be good at. I know that I suck at soccer and that there are probably 1 billion people out there better than me, but it still is easy to play. Not convinced....I'll break it down for you.

Step 1: Kick the ball towards the big net
Step 2: If it goes out of bounds, pick it up and throw it back into the field
Step 3: Repeat steps 1 and 2

Oh, I forgot the goalie

Step 1: Don't let the ball go in the big net, using all means necessary
Step 2: If you get the ball, give it back to your team
Step 3: Repeat steps 1 and 2

Seriously, anyone can play soccer and do something.

Anyways, give me ice hockey, not some oversized round puck-kicking sport with players who fall on the ground and start curling up "in extreme pain" whenever touched by a player from a different team. :biggrin:

Ok, let me clarify. Out of all these sports, basketball, baseball, real football, soccer, hockey, golf, lacrosse....soccer is the easiest.

How about rugby? Rubgy seems pretty easy. And you don't even have to use your feet. It's a lot more entertaining to watch too.

Real footbal? Okey, funny.. How can it be real footbal, if your only using your feet when kicking at away, wich happens far less then the tosses and throws And common, shoulderpads and stuff? With rugby you don't wear anything but a cap, and that's not even neccesary.... I still like the game though

Anyways, I agree. Soccer is the easiest sport to play out of those options. Only some athletic sports are easier to understand. But to be good at it is a different thing, though. As was said...

With sticking your head in a hole I meant the people of America ignoring soccer. I know it gots airtime there.

But comparing curling with Soccer is somehwat, I don't know, crooked? Curling won't even see Soccers back if it comes to popularitie in the world. The WC is the biggest sport event in the world (with a single sport, the games are ofcourse much larger), why wouldn't you want to be good at it...

But then again, the other sports are rooted in. What is it? 4, 5 sports that the American's can call their own. Why would you need another... hmmm

Not really into basketball, but what did he do? Go for the points instead of the show the first quarters?

Nah. He just has a longstanding rep of resorting to very dirty, very dull defensive schemes at the drop of a hat. It involves the other players getting hacked mercilessly and shooting a lot of foul shots. Which is very dull and takes ages.

I sure am. I'm a board member, coach, and ref in my local AYSO region, and coach and play indoors in the winter. Soccer is kinda my life outside DND. Tivoing the games thou since I'm in the states here. I only caught the first half of the Iran Mexico game yesturday. I was pulling for Iran, I was sad to see them loose to Mexico. From what I saw, it was a great game.

Everyone here in the USofA psyched about the game today? I'm pretty excited to see them play the Czech Republic.
