I really lost track of initiative there. Truthfully, that was my first experience with a fight on dndog. Is there some way to better keep track of initiative if we're going to be strict about it?

Yeah, I had to take a moment a write everyone's initiative down to figure out what attack came first and (in this situation) where Azrom's body was pushed, poked, smashed, and set on fire.

In another PbP game that I'm in on roleplaymarket, the DM handles it pretty cleanly. Basically he describes what happens in combat as you did, and then has a fieldset box below (at the end of his post) with a list of people. They are listed from first initiative down in a descending order and it makes it fairly easy to see who goes when.
Example Not sure if that's viewable or not. |

Thanks I'll try something a little clearer the next time (which could be fairly soon). I posted so that the character I was writing about has the initiative, thus in the order that they are is who has the first initiative. The characters who are written about last had the slowest reaction time.

About Azrom...
Azrom (wiz3, 8hp) had four visible wounds and two not-so-visible wounds that needed tending. Davinder's blast(4 dmg), Unkil's morningstar (5 dmg), Rach's slam (5 dmg subdual), Illyrion's spear (6 dmg), Stiln's spear (5 dmg), and Io'nurh's breathweapon (4 dmg). The poor mage was past dead, even with the death's-door clause. So I was thinking about instituting Fate Points, played one as a Left-for-Dead option to keep the mage alive at the barest minimum. Davinder had a lot to deal with considering trying to stop progressive bleeding. Of course, Unkil's morningstar ended the left-for-dead option with a cou'de'gras.

It's a good thing no one has Vow of Non-violence or Peace. I'd be wracking up some major penalties for all of my killing of the helpless
