Question, If we are being lied to, are you rolling secret Sense Motive checks in our stead? Same thing for when NPCs are sneaking on us for Listen checks and so on. I'm mostly asking because those are opposed checks, and I don't think we should always mention that we are opposing it when we don't know there is something to oppose. Sense Motive as an action takes about a minute to do and cannot seriously be rolled every sentence spoken to assert no lies are being said. Getting a Hunch that someone is trustworthy usually lasts for the whole discussion. I'm basically asking if I should roll myself a Sense Motive check every time I suspect I am being lied to or if you will roll it for me and tell me my character figures it out when that happens. ![]() Last edited by Blue; Jun 11th, 2009 at 05:14 PM. |

Generally speaking I wait until the end to sort out Sense Motive since, as you said, it usually takes an entire discussion to guage whether you're being lied to.
For reactive checks, I will either roll in secret or ask you to roll (whether specifically for a certain skill/save/etc. or just a d20 to which I apply the modifiers) depending on the circumstances. For example, in Prologue II there's no point being secretive about it, since Nehv would be stupid not to be cautious/think people are lying to her. Just to remind everyone that I'll be loosing internet in my home on saturday (so tonight and tomorrow are my last days with internet at home) but that I will be able to access to internet from uni until the beginning of July. I should have internet access again by then, but if not I'll let you know. ~MTWC

Sorry for my hiatus. Thanks for your patience, everyone... I could offer up excuses, but I never much liked excuses. Its time to post. On with the gaming!

Just a quick question, there appears to be a number of private threads in the "Trials of the Young King" section (Not talking about the journals) with a lot of activity on them. Am I supposed to be involved in these? If so then I'll need access.
Also I'm still waiting on a response to several questions in the Journals section before I can finalize the character sheet. No rush, I know you're without internet at home, but I thought I'd mention it if you'd missed either. And a FYI for everyone else, I'm still working on the story that I posted during the application process, I'll post it once it's done for your amusement.

Thanks!
As for the private thread, it's normal. Its a second prologue experienced by some characters after the events of the original one. One of the reasons Morgan isn't part of it is because he didn't finish the prologue yet and because, for a number of reasons, only a few characters can take part in it. When the characters reunite after that second prologue, the information will be shared. |

I was going to wait on the result of my die rolls before replying to Morgan, but I didn't want to hold up the forum. I'll assume that with a 36, I know a fair bit about his past as an oracle... hope that's kosher.

Oh yea, that'll do it. The whole thing is pretty public.
He is still having visions and sending the results to the church of Airis. It's just that they're not that frequent and are fairly obscure so most folks have given up on him being the equivalent of "The Oracle".

Yeah, for the most part high results will get you most things not secreted in the chaarcter thread. I'll get a detailed response about the checks once I'm at my dad's (I'm currently at my sister's using a wall as a computer screen [she has a projector for a monitor]).

Is it a decent resolution or size? Some wall projectors can be lacking in detail...

It's ok-ish, though black and white for reasons they've not been able to find out/fix.
Anyway, sorry for the delay. I've updated a few private threads and given some information to people but my dad's pulling me off the computer before I can finish it all (I miss having my own computer already ![]() ~MTWC
