I tend to read 7-8 books a week and have 2 or 3 open at a time. Latest recommendations are: The Way of Shadow - Brent Weeks if you want fantasy. Just completed for the 2nd time the Aubrey/Maturin novels by Patrick O'brien. If you like historical fiction and the Napoleonic era, this is a must read. Or, if you like wooden sailing ships and boarding parties, a definite must for you. No Less Than Victory - Jeff Shaara is historical fiction about WW2. Very good author. |

I read CyberMage by Kelly McCullough not too long ago. It was a pretty interesting cyber-magic/fantasy read as you don't see too many of those around (that aren't video game related anyway). I just picked up the next 3 books in the series and I'll be starting on those soon.
I also picked up the first Spice and Wolf light novel that was recently translated and released last month as I enjoyed the anime series. Last edited by The Ellimist; Jan 4th, 2010 at 02:05 AM. |

Currently reading "The Hugo Winners" edited my Isaac Asimov. Its full of some of the best sci-fi short stories I've ever read or dreamed of reading and this was the stuff written in the 1950-70's. Not finished with it yet but I would recommend it to anyone interested in sci-fi.

Other than posts on this site, I don't read now that I have Tivo. Sad really.

Right now I'm cracking open Wuthering Heights to appease a promise I made to a girl friend. Good read so far, and habitually depressing throughout to compliment it.
After that I have Revelation Space by Alaistair Reynolds and Dune by Frank Herbert to fufil the Sci Fi craving I have, and that Christmas fufilled. Still have to work up the motivation to finish The Divine Comedy, which I opened a while ago, and start War and Peace by Tolstoy, which is looking intimidatingly dense right now. ![]() Last edited by Roysteriser; Jan 4th, 2010 at 01:12 PM. |

Dune is a great read. How far are you in the Divine Comedy?

If you need heavenly reading, switch The Divine Comedy for Paradise Lost. Much better read, in my opinion. Dune is excellent.

I pulled a horrendous prank on my fiance for Christmas. He wanted the new Dan Brown book. And I got it for him,....... except I put it in the dust jacket of the Sarah Palin book. The look on his face was priceless.
