Well worth the wait! Wonderfully written... I do hope we can handle another fight if that's what's coming... Is Luke healed to full now, or is he still pretty low?

I have not yet decided if I will set you guys up for another fight... I have one prepared and am thinking about it, but, that first fight lasted just about three weeks. Although, it was much more involved and of greater scope than what I've got planned.

Still: What do you guys think: Which do you prefer, combat or character interaction? Which would you rather have at this point?

Well, since you're asking, what I was hoping for when I read the description was a mystery to solve that may in the future lead us to conflicts, but a small (less epic) combat on the front end would not be too bad.

Yup yup.

You'll see.

In case I wasn't clear though, the tower is a simple stone structure, there may be some smaller fortifications closer to the tower, but all you can see from your distance, a little over a hundred feet, is the structure itself, round, 30 feet tall, 20 feet wide, it's walls gently sloping inward, the top of the building just a little narrower than the base.

Hand got mauled by a dog at a party last night. Unsure about posting rate for the next couple of days. It depends on the amount of pain and/or my patience with one-handed typing. On the upside, I looked kind of badass for awhile with my bloody hand-wrappings (not so now that I have more professional, blood-free dressings).

Did you get a tetanus booster (if your last booster >10y ago) and broad spectrum antibiotics?

And on a less work related note, I think for PbP games, combat needs to be an occasional garnish, rather than constant fare. On the other hand, things can grind to a halt if the characters are just standing chatting to one another. Hence, 'mysteries' and non-combat challenges take on an important role.

So far, I think this game has achieved excellent pacing, many kudos to our DM!

Set scene
Combat
Time for characters to get to know each other but
Potential threat to prompt characters to move on
Minor challenge (keeping fed and sheltered in the wild) with chance to use non-combat skills
Plot hook via Knowledge skill leading on to ??? (combat? 'mystery'? skill challenge(s)?)
