New member, old hand?

Just briefly.

I have perhaps 40 years of RPG experience, back to my teens, yes I'm that old. Although I have been playing in ADRPG almost exclusively for the last few years, I also run a variant game on this site.

Trying this site out for size, hope to meet some of you in-game soon.

Howdy Jedric101, welcome to RPG Crossing.

I think you will find that there are a lot of us "old timers" hanging around. Most of us have jobs and a family, so free time is very limited, which makes this place such an ideal location for playing games. I am sure there are some people here who are online a lot more than others, but the point is whenever we have a little free time, we can hop on and read some posts and maybe even write a few before real life calls upon us again.

Anyway, I highly recommend signing up for one of the New Player Solo Games to help get you past the learning curve on how things work here. It is a fun way to get up to speed.

By chance, have you ever considered the Hero System?

If you have any questions, this is a great place to ask them.

Just kidding... always good to have someone around who remembers when EXP tables were different for each class, and that THAC0 was new fangled and weird.

That's not an easy question, I could reel off half dozen from original D&D, 1E AD&D, 2e and other non-D&D games! Never really got into 3e and later.

A few stand out, but I'd say the most recent/memorable character was named Jared, and he was part of an ADRPG game. I've done more GMing than playing recently, anyway.

Thanks for the welcome and advice. As stated in the post immediately above this one, I've already started playing in a game on this site.

Only ever played using the Hero System once, but that was mainly because there seemed to be so few openings for the system.
