Hello there!

I've been playing D&D since the early 80s, starting with Basic D&D, where Elf was a character class. I've gone through every other edition since (yes, even 4th), and I'm getting accustomed to 5th, though I'll admit that I still prefer 3rd.
I've played other games as well, including GURPS, Champions, Car Wars, and a few others, but hage a particular fondness for Amber Diceless Roleplaying. I'm hoping to settle in well here |

Howdy Nuric, welcome to RPG Crossing.
Champions?!?! I would love to get a Champions game up and running here again. Car Wars? Wow, that brings back some memories. So, what kind of game are you looking for to start off with?

I'm here waiting for an Amber Diceless Roleplaying game to start, but i might be open to other games. Though I'm still in many games back on rpol.net.
I loved Champions back in the day (back in the late 80s amd early90s), but apparently new editions have come out since then. |

I remember a few games of Car Wars in college, had forgotten I even played that. Welcome, and I am new as well, here for an Amber game :-)

Welcome to the site!
As someone who only discovered ttrpgs about 3 years ago, I envy how long you've been playing! I can only imagine how many crazy stories you have. Is there one that specifically sticks out in your memory? |

Goodmorning Nuric,
Wow, your introduction post brought back memories! I also once started at rpol, my first Pathfinder game was played over there, I vaguely remember it was.... 'Skulls and Shackles'???? #gettingold We had agreed to create our character sheets at Mythweaver and somehow I ended up at the Crossing because the lay-out was so much better (please note my RPG-skin is changed to orange, our national color) Also, a sad memory to share, I was playing with a very.... unique player who did not want to game with me anymore because my posts were subpar; it kinda chased me away from roleplay for a while.... Anyways, this was a long time ago, but it made me appreciate RPGcrossing so much! The friendliness is real and it made me feel confident again. And this is probably the oddest welcome you had so far, lol: welcome :-)

Loving all the Amber fans charging in like [insert reference to novels here that would be totally relevant if I knew what I was talking about]. Hope you all settle in nicely!

welcome!
Another grognard! Huzzah! Elf = class, back in the days when death lurked around every corner, and half the stuff you saw was a mimic! When you spent more time rolling up a new PC than you did playing it before it died, and deity intervention was your last hope. Hope you have a great time here. Happy gaming!

Don't know the tech savvy of Amish grandmothers. Their grandkids might have gone Amish, but they might be digital pioneers from the chat boards of the late-1980s!
Anyway ... you'll soon be up to speed. The coding here is very simple and there are tons of tutorials. Looks like you came here for this fabulous Amber game I've been hearing a lot about, but you can also pick up a few tricks of your own by signing up for a New Player Solo Game. You'll get a personalize GM (who, I'm 99.9% sure ain't a chatbot) to guide you through a short scenario that also helps pass on some site essentials and easy-to-remember tips, plus it's an immediate connection to the wider gaming community here. But ... hey, rule 1, play as you wish and follow your gaming desires (unless it involves pushing wizards down a spiral staircase ... I hear that's a bummer.) See you around the boards!

Welcome, Nuric! And thanks for sneaking over! That's awesome that you're also here for Amber. I hope that game goes well!
I'm a big fan of GURPS 3E and 4E and there are a few games going right now on the site if you are interested. Happy Gaming! |
