"Well, hello there!"

"I'm Louise 'The Tug,' the current host of the Tug of War game."

"What's the Tug of War, you might ask? Well ... it's one of the oldest continually running games on the site, going all the way back to October 24, 2007!"

"The game is simple and based on a classic tug-of-war game: You choose a side--either the Downers or the Uppers--and when the count starts at 500 you post no more than once an hour to either bring the score down by one number (if you're a Downer) or raise it up by one number (if you're an Upper)."

"The Downers win if the score reaches 0. The Uppers win if the score reaches 1,000. It's as simple as that!"

"I know, I know, it sounds ... well, purposeless and inane, right? But it's surprisingly addictive and fun. The best part isn't the tugging, really, it's getting to jump right into a thread where members from all across the site are posting and interacting with one another. There's intense rivalry, but also great camaraderie across the sides."

"There is a new Tug of War thread for each game, but it is always in the Open Roleplaying Thread, and you can always stop by the Tug of War Coffee Shop to ask questions of either team or just say 'hi!'"

"I'm here for the entire fair to answer any questions you might have. Or, you know, just accept your compliments regarding my snazzy checkered sports jacket!"

"I don't take pride in the results of 63. I have some comments I could say about TOW 63 but I think I'll leave those off the record. My start game is even older than that Louise. I started in TOW 28 where it was the first TOW to break over 10k posts in a single game. "
