[WoD] New player wants to try Mage: The Awakening 2e

Hello! It is I, your benevolent Fairy Overlord, and I'm here with a very specific request.

After watching a YouTube video where a bunch of people were playing Mage: The Awakening, I decided that I'd also like to try my hand at playing it. Unfortunately, I don't have real life friends who live nearby, let alone anyone who knows the first thing about World of Darkness / Chronicles of Darkness -- and so I come to you!

I'm hoping to find a friendly storyteller who'd be willing to run either a solo game, or a game for a relatively small group of players -- something player driven with a focus on story and roleplay ideally, but you're the expert here, not me. We'll do it whatever way you think is best. Keep in mind, I'm a total noob. I don't have any idea what I'm doing and I'll probably need more than a little guidance.

I wish you luck in your search. WoD in general and Mage in particular are really, really good to play. I've run Mage in the past but only the table top version with some local friends. Sadly I'm not experienced enough with this play by post to run one at this time and probably wouldn't have the time to do it justice. One day I probably will though. In the mean time good luck in finding one. You see things like that on here sometimes and people sometimes will offer to run someone in a solo game. I think you'll really enjoy it once you get into it.

Mage: the Awakening is a system that seems to show up in sporadic spurts now and then, just to warn you. If no one immediately takes you up on this, keep that in mind. About all I know about it myself is that I wobbled my way through character creation—the lore of Mage is considerable to get into—and then got lost while playing. Not a great first try for me, but someday I'll try again.

Hopefully, like Kepheren, the WoD regulars will pop in to wish you luck or pile on, whichever swing of the cycle happens this time around.

I'm currently working on a Werewolf the Forsaken game but I'm willing to allow other splats to apply so you could apply with a Mage. I've got very little knowledge of Awakening though so it will be a learning experience for both of us. (And it will be a Werewolf game, leaning into their themes more than any other splats.)
