Plot SummaryFive years ago, the town of Sandpoint was plagued by a series of calamities the locals have taken to calling the Late Unpleasantness. A dead noblewoman, a serial killer, and a church fire that claimed the lives of the town priest and his adopted daughter, all occurred in a span of six months. Half a decade later, the town is ready to put the pain in the past. A new and glorious church has finally been completed, and soon shall be officially consecrated by the new town priest during the religious Swallowtail Festival. However, fate is not done with the gentle town. Unbeknownst to the townsfolk, a new danger smolders just outside borders. A flame of rage and hurt that looks to consume everything in its path.

I'm looking for 4-6 first level characters.
-All Core Paizo material is allowed
-20 point buy
-2 traits potential drawback for a third trait
-Maximum starting hp, average hp after
-maximum starting wealth
-Some other details to give are description, personality, short and long term goals, motivation for adventuring, and why you are in the town of sandpoint on the day of the Swallowtail Festival.

Try to keep backgrounds in the 3-5 paragraph range. I would like a description, personality give me a good reason for why you are in Sandpoint on the day of the Swallowtail Festival.

Hmmm a basic only character... This should be interesting. Well there is discussion of one of my other games to be ending so I may have to apply for this. Always loved the Runelords campaign.

Just for clarity what do you mean by: All Core Paizo material is allowed

For example do you mean specifically only things from teh actual CORE rulebook, or do you just mean nothing 3rd party?

I am thinking of applying with a Human or Dwarf Cleric (of either Abadar or Cayden Cailean).

How do you feel about Downtime Organisations/Buildings, the "Setting up Shop" Alternate Profession Rules, and/or the Leadership Feat?
I like to have plans to do with Downtime (when it's allowed) and thought that creating a small Merchant Empire (or Pub Chain) might be fun.

I haven’t had any experience with the shop running or building rules. The party will also be traveling a lot especially later. I am okay with the leadership feat.

I have no issues with players who all ready know the story.

I prefer to post twice a week.

The song was part of his ritual. Planting a rose seed for the rebellious hearts, for those who stood against tyranny and oppression, was another. Until recently, tending the blooming rose yard and the garden surrounding it was what kept most of his days in check.

The humble little limestone temple had been his home since a group of Milani-blessed justicars had cut his bonds, literally, to his imprisonment in the Fogscar mountains and his jailer - a lumbering half-giant with torture, hard labor and aggression as his only words. In this temple, he had learned mostly everything he knew, including the ability to read, write, cook, sew, argue and have obtained a general understanding of the world and the constant turmoil it was in. He had been introduced to the gods of Golarion in general and more specifically, the way of Milani and her work to demolish and shatter all tyranny. Needless to say, he owed the goddess a lot and he gladly gave it.

At the age of twenty-two, Doyle Costello had set out from the temple and first braced himself against the busy life of Magnimar and found it too stressing and then decided that he would join a group of merchants to witness the insertion of faith in Sandpoint. Granted, it was not his faith, but Doyle had no objections versus other deities, unless they accepted or even promoted slavery. That was an entirely different matter. A particularly evil matter, as a matter of fact.

Under heavy plating, waxed leather and large iron ring barding, Doyle is a thick and strong bundle of muscles and brown curly hair. His features hints his heritage among the Fogscar mountain roots, where few families had bred generations after generations. A broad, slightly left-curving nose makes for a rather impressive feature in an otherwise flat face. The cheekbones are high rising under slightly oval hickory brown eyes. There's a little black mole over his left side of the broad lips and his thick neck sports a crimson rose tattoo. Both breastplate and shield carry the same rose of Milani over shining steel and iron power.

Name: "Honest" Hasim
Alignment: Lawful Neutral.
Race: Human, Katapeshi
Class: Cleric (Leadership & Defence Subdomains)
Deity: Abadar
Appearance: His height has dramatically increased since his days as a sewer jack (perhaps due to his later access to fresh air, decent food and actual sunlight), but he remains as rakishly thin as he was in his youth. Hasim is invariably either grinning or preening, and usually both at the same time. Impeccably (though not flashily) dressed in Katapeshi Merchant's Garb.
Personality: Greedy, Mercantile, not evil or cruel but a true Businessman, will exaggerate an item or services worth to the point of ridiculousness, but he will honour every contract, just make sure you read the small print! He is easy to overlook unless he wants to be noticed, then his strangely hypnotic voice can convince a person of almost anything!
Motivation: Hasim is a simple man with a simple dream, and that dream is to own enough Gold Coins to drown a city! Obtaining wealth and putting himself in a position where he can obtain more wealth, is his primary concern. Of course, being alive to horde it, and having living people around to trade with, will certainly filter their way into his thinking as well!
Traits: You gain a +2 trait bonus on Diplomacy checks to influence hostile or unfriendly creatures, and if you fail at such an attempt, you may retry it once.Patient Optimist, You increase the gp limit of any settlement by 20% and can resell items at an additional 10% over the amount of gp you normally would get from selling off treasure.Merchant Family

I think there is definite scope for Doyle and Hasim's paths to be tied, particularly near the end there.

Description: Most would call Izmer a Gentleman scholar. Clean, well shaved, and dressed in the clean and practical clothes that does as well in a university lecture hall as out in the field. He has a thinner taller build that towers over some of his shorter colleagues and peers. He prefers a clean look and tries to always carry a spare set of clothes and shaving kit. He moves with confidence and skill knowing his that his name will one day be talked about in the halls of most kingdoms.

Personality: Izmer is a man that for those who didn't know him would describe him as arrogant. Incredibly smart and self assured, he has a tendency to come across as rude and forceful when animated about scholarly matters. He prefers to debate and challenge perceptions of the worlds, building his world view on the facts and not because an author 200 years ago said it was this way. He has an innate understanding of magic and is able to extract abilities from it when known exist. He has a love of math and reading poetry and many often find him reading ancient treaties or books well sipping from a glass of wine.

Background:Izmer was born to his father who was a human researcher investigating the history of some ancient elven myths about the start of the world and a mother who despite the warnings of her kin loved the messy hair man that had come to live in her city. Sadly, their passionate relationship was doomed for my father had no desire to give up his life at the university and his mother refused to leave her people. Rejected by most of his elven ancestors, he returned to the university as a young child and grew up among the scholars and mages. He quickly showed a grasp of mathematics beyond his years and by the time he was a young teenager was enrolled in the lowest level classes. He learned magic from master wizards and somehow was able to incorporate them into his own blood like that of a sorcerer. He graduated with honors and spent several years studying ancient civilizations and leading expedition to ruins. After several years of research, he turned his eye to ruins of Sandpoint and the secrets they held.

So, in theory, if the game goes to 7th level, would I be allowed to use the Evangelist prestige class to improve the Dragon Disciple prestige class (as the Aligned Class class feature)? I plan on applying with a bloodrager regardless of your answer, I just wanna know if I can do that later.

I suppose that answer depends on if you allow the Deific Obedience feat or not. If you don't, my character will just end up being a Dragon Disciple.

Personality: There are many layers to Utana, though most of those layers are pent up rage. She can be sweet and kind most of the time, then suddenly have a weapon drawn. And there's regret for all the time she's pulled a weapon needlessly, meaning she no longer carries a weapon. She wants to change, to be more calm and patient, and thinks that the Eldest of Time, Shyka's, path is the way to do so.

Description: Utana is made of lean muscles with no bulk, and has never been sick a day in her life. Her skin is fair, her hair is a pinkish red, and her eyes are copper. Her courtesan's clothing is simple, but layered, and depicts the symbol of her god: Shyka. Notably, she has a singular fox tail that seems almost out of place, but it's not her fault she has such a diverse ancestry. She wears a hardened leather corset, a heavy jacket, and studded leather leggings over, over, and under her clothing, respectively, all crafted together with exquisite quality and made explicitly for her form. All is embroidered or otherwise detailed with an ornate "time" motif, including a broken hourglass symbol on the back of her jacket.

Background
Utana is from the city of guns and machines, and is trained in their craft as a result. She is of so many ancestries that she doesn't even know all of them. She knows a dragon was involved, and a kitsune, maybe a being of the First World or two, and obviously many, many humans of many, many different cultures. But she's mostly latched on to her fey ancestry and Alkenstarian heritage. It's no surprise then that while she is best suited for melee combat, she still yearns for a pistol. After all, she can't rely on her magic in the magic dead zone of her homeland. She didn't even know she was magical until she left!

The Vorin family a minor noble family. Not wealthy, per se, but wealthy enough. Most of what Utana carries was paid for with her family's money, with little in the way of adventuring done by her. Their wealth all comes from the sale of firearms they craft with the abundant mineral resources of her homeland. She spent much time training in the craft, only to discover she was far too wrathful and impatient to make firearms to the quality her family expects. Her sisters are all "perfect" in her parents' eyes because of their skill and patience, she thinks.

She left home to explore, Her reason for adventuring is a long term goal, as well.maybe find a way to temper her, well, temper. Or embrace it. One or the other, Utana suspects will make her happy. This is why she sought to travel, ending up in Sandpoint after a deal involving arming pirates with her family's firearms.
