Chronicles of Qorum: The Darkening of Argrea

Game NameChronicles of Qorum: The Darkening of Argrea
Game SystemDnD 5e
ThemeHigh Fantasy
FlavourDark and Gritty
Plot SummaryVodogan Valakarus, Black Ram of Torterus, Son of Vitro Kin Sithra, the Formless Shadow, Lord of Hideous Guises and supreme lord of the Gloom, stood on the balcony of one of the dark towers of Darkhold, overlooking the city of Drath Valkarus, once known as Solum, the City of the Beneficent Sun, his long charcoal-black fingers on the cold, dark steel of the railing, a cold wind blewing through his long black hair. Qorum's three moons were barely visible through the dark skies above, the corruption of the Vyldshael he had caused evident by the eerie, purple glow in the colossal black clouds.

The demon smiled. It had been 37 years since he caused the fall of the Empire of Dimeren and his citadel, Darkhold, finally stood finished.

"Your Highness," his servant Obil said from somewhere in the large dark chamber behind him.

"What is it, Obil?" Vodogan asked with a hint of annoyance in his voice, turning around to see Obil having entered his chamber with none other than Vodogan's vassal lord Ulgaunt Kreel, the Skergaldian Dread Knight whom the Night King had appointed to govern the land of Alberia, one of the first lands which Vodogan had conquered and occupied upon beginning his invasion of the continent of Argrea. What was he doing here?

"Ulgaunt, my friend. I am surprised to see you here." The expression on his contorted, devilish face was split between a wry smile and glowing yellow eyes burning with intense fury and malice. The Dread Knight had failed him and he was far from pleased...

Ulgaunt who stood about eight feet tall and was covered in dark plates of the extremely rare Tenebrite metal, bowed his horned ferrungar head. His face was dark and gaunt, and his horns were black. A black fur cloak hung from his pauldrons and he leaned on Svergluf's Glaive, the weapon of the former king Svergluf of Rovanak on Skergaldr, the king whom Ulgaunt had slain many years ago, replacing him as ruler of Rovanak, on the behest of his dark lord, Vodogan Valakarus.

"I have failed you, my lord. Heothar Aldorin and his allies have forced me out of Agaleth. We no longer hold Alberia."

"And why haven't I been informed of this already?"

"Obil says you've been busy overseeing the opening of Darkhold."

In an instance, a long whip of shadow energy lashed out from Vodogan's hand and slapped across Ulgaunt's face, leaving a fresh bleeding wound among the many scars already there.

"Silence! This is the last time you've failed me, Ulgaunt. I want you to return to Alberia, and I want you to kill King Heothar as soon as possible. Word of his victory over you will soon reach resistance fighters everywhere, and bolster their morale anew. I should kill you on the spot. Begone from my sight, before I do so, and do not return until King Heothar is dead!"

-------------------~-----~------~-----~---------------------

In the city of Agaleth in Alberia, celebrations were under way for the reclamation of Agaleth.

You, all of you resistance fighters, were all gathered in the throne hall of King Heothar, the aasimar Saint King of Alberia, whom you had personally helped storm Agaleth and Castle Aldorin, forcing Vodogan's vassal Ulgaunt Kreel to flee. The king was back on his throne, the aasimar in his gilded plate mail shining with deep-felt satisfaction. You had succeeded. Alberia was liberated and its governance was back in the hands of its rightful ruler!

There was no telling how Vodogan was going to respond, but for now, peace, order and liberty had been restored...

Name- Ohrlan "Spectacles" Treecutter
Age- 42
Description- Taller than most of his kind, possibly the result of always having to stretch to reach the books on the upper shelves even from a ladder, and abnormally thin even for a Lightfoot, this tiny tow-headed man wears his long hair in a single braid down his back, the only neat part about him. His face and hands always seem not quite dirty, but dusty, as from the layers of dust on ancient books. His clothing always looks disheveled, as if he's wearing yesterday's outfit again today. The bright blue eyes in his pale-skinned face are almost hidden behind a pair of slightly green tinted spectacles.
Race- Lightfoot Halfling

Chronicles of Qorum:
The Darkening of Argrea

Introduction
The continent of Argrea has always been a dangerous melting pot, located
right in the middle of the northern hemisphere of Qorum, a crossroads for
the many races and cultures of the various continents of the northern half
of the globe of Qorum, and thus a decisive strategical region for anyone
seeking wealth and power. Some of the greatest empires of Qorum had
been based on Argrea, such as the mighty draconian-ruled empire of
Darakia, and the later empire of human and elves known as Dimeren,
but just as Argrea was a key region to the forces of culture and
civilization, it was likewise of strategic importance to the forces of evil
and destruction. 'Whoever held Argrea, held the world', as an ancient
Dimereni saying went, and thus Argrea had always been a focal point
for the constant strife and warfare between the forces of good and evil...

Thus, when Vodogan Valakarus, the Dread Lord of Skergaldr and
son of the dark god Vitro Kin Sithra, attacked Dimeren with a horde of undead,
barbarians and monsters, it came as no great surprise. Dimeren was in no
way prepared for Vodogan's attack, however, having just endured a costly
civil war between Lenos and his brother Dunawain, who had been corrupted
by the dark influence of Vaegloth the Whisperer, one of the thaunar, or
greater deities, of the evil pantheon of gods known as the Dark Tribunal.
Vodogan quickly seized the northern lands of Antyris and Pontamar,
corrupting or enslaving the two nations' populations.

In the High Forest of Pontamar, he took control of the Aldrune, the
great Tree of Light, and caused it to become a Tree of Darkness,
infusing it with the dark power of the Gloom. Soon the skies above
Argrea darkened and all manner of Darkfiends poured forth from
Rifts in the Vyldshael, the Veil Between Worlds, and joined Vodogan's
legions. Dimeren fell in year 7 of the Dark Age, Lenos slain by Vodogan,
and Vodogan taking his place on the throne of Solum, changing the
name of that once proud bastion of the Aluwani, the Children of Light,
to Drath Valakarus.

General Information on Alberia
left-aligned image
Alberia
Alberia is known as the Land of the Golden Griffon, and its flag is a golden griffon on a purple shield.
The gyldengriffs are numerous enough in Alberia that the great mountain range running through along the eastern border of the province of Agalia is named after them -The Gyldengriff Mountains. Agalia is the province you are currently in, by the way. There are three provinces of Alberia: Agalia, Tarnoth and Drakennor. Agalia lies between the Stargazers, the mountain range cutting through western Whelyr from north to south, and the Gyldengriff Mountains.

Tarnoth is located north of Agalia, between the Hammerleth Highlands and the Drakenfells, the great mountain range running through northeastern Alberia from north to south, dividing the provinces of Tarnoth and Drakennor.

Drakennor is located east of Tarnoth, beyond the Drakenfells, between those wyrm-haunted peaks and the mountain range known as Auldar's Crown, named after the anicent dhouvarr king Auldar Stormhammer, which is now part of Drakennor.

Alberia is a nation of hardy, hard-working folk stalwart and courageous in the face of Vodogan's sinister servants and the many Darkfiends and Gloomspawn which have appeared since the Darkening. Most Alberians are Nordfolk, but a rather large percentage are Darakians, or of mixed blood. A rather large number of dhouvarr and lunadrin also
call the nation home, as well as a considerable amount of half-drin, krimir and gnekki.

For the past fifteen years, from 22 FoD to 37 FoD, Alberia has been governed by the evil ferrungar (half-giant) vassal lord of Vodogan, Ulgaunt Kreel, and during those yeass much of Alberia's population was enslaved and forced to live harsh lives, working Alberia's mines and fields, strictly for the benefit of Valakara, Vodogan Valakarus' dark empire.

Just recently, Alberia was liberated by Heothar Aldorin, the aasimar king of Alberia who's been leading the resistance ever since Alberia became occupied in -5 FoD.

The Darkening of Argrea
The Darkening of Argrea
Welcome to Qorum, a vast and wondrous world encompassing several continents, seas, isles and archipelagos, and inhabited by a myriad of different mortal creatures, some more intelligent than others, known as a whole as the muathar, which distinguishes them from the divine beings known as the zuruathan, the thaedwyl, the thaunar and the tiathan, named here in order of their power.

The zuruathan are pesudogods, celestial creatures which are less than gods, but more than muathar. A zuruathan might be a unique divine creature, such as the thaunar Vaun Dalus' wolf, Tharvangrir, who is bestowed with part of Vaun Dalus' divine energy and immortality. A thaedwyl is one of the lesser gods of Qorom. Though they are all native to Qorom, some might have outerplanar domains of their own, such as Veyek Verkaleon, who is a Qoromborn deity who now resides in a domain known as The Vigil's Sanctum, which is located in the Canum, the realm of balance and order. An thaunar is a true deity, not necessarily born in Qorom. Gods such as Woedra and Gaundalur are thaunar and they usually preside over their own outerplanar realms, or reside in a personal domain in of the greater outerplanar realms such as the Canum, or Meyen Tira. Tiathan are the greater gods predating the thaunar and thaedwyl of Qorum, and many of them predating Qorum itself. Greatest among the tiathan is Aunumar, the Great Creator, the supreme overgod of Qorum and the other worlds in the Qorumverse. Together, the divine beings are known as the aunathar.

Not all the aunathar are benign. Besides neutral and trickster gods, there are entirely evil gods such as the thaedwyl, thaunar and tiathan of the pantheon known as the Dark Tribunal. These sinister gods are thoroughly malign and they exist solely to cause corruption, sorrow and mayhem among the muathar living on Qorum.

Chief among the Dark Tribunal aunathar is Vitro Kin Sithra, the Formless Shadow, Lord of Hideous Guises, Bringer of Dread and Despair, who is also known as Oglamadath, the Many-Headed Beast, and Malhadrak, the Devouring Chaos. Vitro is said to be not one, but many evil gods that have unified into one, and he is said to be the source of all evil in the cosmos, and of the nefarious force known as the Gloom, which seeps through every crack and crevice in the Vyldshael, the magical field around Qorum, which functions both as a Veil Between Worlds and as the field of ambient arcane energy, which weavers draw the magic for the spells from.

right-aligned image
One of Vitro Kin Sithra's thaedwyl servants, Vodogan Valakarus has contaminated the Vyldshael above the continent Argrea, which has resulted in many weavers going mad and monsters pouring through the rifts in the Vyldhael in large numbers, as well as the skies above Argrea darkening, so that nights are longer and the days are darker.
The Gloomlord Vodogan Valakarus accomplished this by running Vaegloth the Whisperer's Gloom-infused sword Vaeglothraan into the Aldrune, the ancient Tree of Light, planted by Aunumar himself, towering high above the High Forest of Pontamar. After that, he turned his evil horde against the Heartlands of Dimeren, namely the stalwart nations of Kaladan and Brezzentir, and by year 7 of the newly declared Dark Age, Vodogan succeeded in slaying the leader of the Dimeren Empire, the Divine Emperor Lenos Dimer...

The consequence of this has been that the continent-spanning Dimeren Empire has fallen and become the Broken Empire, a number of nations in disarray, several of them controlled by the Gloomlord Vodogan Valakarus, some in lose alliances against the nations in his control, and others neutral in the conflict.

Vodogan Valakarus has taken the throne in Solum and changed the city's name to Drath Valakarus, and now the Heartlands of Dimeren, as well as Pontamar and Antyris in the north, are controlled by the
partisans of tyraniccal Vodogaun, some of them corrupted Aluwani and others undead and monstrous humanoids. He has implemented strict laws and his servants enact harsh punishments on any and all dissidents to the Gloomlord's oppressive rule.

Alberia freed itself of Vodogan's occupation just recently, when the paladin Heothar Aldorin defeated the dread knight Ulgaunt Kreel, the vassal lord of Vodogan, who was forced to flee to Drath Valakarus. Vodogan has, however, sent Ulgaunt back northwest to Alberia again, with orders not to return, until he has conquered Alberia again...

The Broken Empire
right-aligned image
The Broken Empire
The Broken Empire consists of nine distinct nations scattered throughout the continent of Argrea. Those nine nations are Alberia, Whelyr, Kaladan, Antyris, Pontamar, Cerelia, Brezzentir, Mirtarn and Zyrrund. Each of the nine nations of Argrea used to be their own indpeendent nations before the Age of Dimeren, and thus they each have their own cultures and history, but for 330 years they were unified under the rule of the Divine Emperor Lenos Dimer, the thaedwyl son of the thaunar Aluastra, the Radiant Queen of the Canum and High Adjudicator of Aunumar, and the thaedwyl drinish (elven) hero Valadin Dimer, the king of Brezzentir renowned for slaying the shadow dragon Sedraal, when it rose from the depths of the Darkendeep and attacked that nation in -546 DA.

Alberia, Land of the Golden Griffon
Alberia, Land of the Golden Griffon, is ruled by Heothar Aldorin, also known as St. Heothar the Pious, or the Saint King, an aasimar descendant of Thyris Lightbringer, the thaunar of justice and retribution, and is a nation of hardy, hard-working folk stalwart and courageous in the face of Vodogan's sinister legions.

Alberia is ruled from the city of Agaleth in the bay of Argrin's Deep, and the nation was once known as Argrindar and was a colony of stout nordfolk from Skergaldr to the north, long before the continent of Skergaldr fell to the dark sway of Vodogan Valakarus.

Alberia is united with Whelyr against the empire of Valakara, which the occupied nations of Antyris, Pontamar, Kaladan and Brezzentir have become known as, since Vodogan Valakarus took control of them.

Whelyr, Land of the Viridium Lyre
Whelyr is a land inhabited primarily by moon elves, or lunadrin as the call themselves, and it is ruled by Queen Elsefir Silverleaf, a beautiful lunadrin sorceress who is also the Chosen of Elune, the primary moon goddess of Qorum, and thus an immortal thaedwyl.

Whelyr's Argent Drakes, its foremost knights and soldiers, keep the forces of Vodogan at bay in the borderland of Aldrunar, an ancient dhouvish (dwarven) land, which has been part of Whelyr, since Aldrunar fell to an invasion of duergar, orcs and orogs, lead by slogh-thoi, in -783 FoD, and Whelyr liberated it in -743 FoD.

Whelyr used to be ruled from the city of Cil Ghalad, but since Kaladan and Brezzentir fell to Vodogan, that city has been deemed too dangerous to be the capital, and from 4 FoD, the capital of Whelyr has been the city of Orlentyr, on the nation's westcoast.

Kaladan, Land of the Silver Stag
Kaladan is a land of primarily lunadrin (moon elves), dhouvarr (dwarves) and adani (humans) which was ruled until recently by Lenos' kezai (vassal king) Velos Valandros, a zuruathan adani Chosen of Veyek Verkaleon, who has been forced underground and now leads the Kaladani resistance from an unkown location in the country.

Its current ruler is the kezzelkir (vassal lord of Vodogan) Pyranes Bruen, a dhouvarr Gloomweaver, who governs the nation from the city of Orennas, City of the Silver Stag, a city dedicated to the zuruathan stag Drinahar, who was the compaion of the thaedwyl druid king Oren Kaladalys who founded the nation and the city of Orennas in -1,245 FoD.

Antyris, Land of Iron Bull
Antyris, Land of the Iron Bull, is ruled by the thaedwyl Antyr Zemethris, who has ruled the land since conquering it from tribes of orcs in -453 FoD, when it was known as Golmek the Bloodied.

While he was a kezai of elkezzarin (Divine Emperor) Lenos Dimer, and one of his close companions during the Karagos Crisis, when the belligerent, evil and destructive tiathan Karagos was released from his prison deep beneath Mount Karagos and started wrecking havoc all across Argrea, Antyr Zemethris was quite easily swayed by the corruption of Vodogan Valakarus, and he became his kezzelkir in 6 DA, the year before Lenos was slain, to Lenos' great dismay. Antyr Zemethris had apparently held a major grudge against Lenos for a long while, sheerly out of jealousy for him being the Divine Emperor of Dimeren, and was thus easy for Vodogan to corrupt, despite his former devotion to the greater good of Argrea...

Antyris is ruled from the city of Vyx Torvath, the City of Severed Spires, once the city of the thaedwyl wizard Torvath Nym, who ruled a nation of shaedrin, dhouvarr, adani and orcs, united under his Torvath's magocrazy, until Antyr Zemethris infiltrated the city with a batallion of elite soldiers and managed to slay the city's wizard-king and his loyal lieutenants in -432 DA, just 21 years after conquering Golmek the Bloodied from orc king Grubnar Golthruk.

Brezzentir, Land of the Black Lion
Brezzentir, Land of the Black Lion, is ruled from Drath Valakarus, the city which used to be known as Solum, the City of the Beneficent Sun, and which is now the location of Citadel Darkhold, the seat of the malevolent tyrant emperor Vodogan Valakarus of Valakara, a great fortress which has been built by slaves over the past 30 years, and has only just been finished in the current year, 37 DA, cementing the new elkezzarin's reign.

Historically, Brezzentir has always been a bastion of civilization and knowledge. Before it became the heart of Dimeren, it was a land ruled by the thaedwyl mage-king Brezzen Balazan, and after his demise, by the mages' guild, the Balazanath, named in his honor.
Before the time of Brezzen Balazan, the land of Brezzentir was known as Talassar and was the heart of the Darakian Empire, an empire ruled by dragons and drakeni (dragonborn) but inhabited by a myriad of races.

Darakia fell in -3,469 DA when the Elderwyrms Sedraal, Nithrog, Gaudrūm and Kezarel started a civil war, which became known as the Dragon War and lasted for more than a hundred years, ultimately ending the Empire of Darakia, as well as the Rule of Dragons.

Pontamar, Land of the Black Hawk
Pontamar, Land of the Black Hawk, was a land of vaeldrin (wood elves) ruled by the benevolent ageless thaedwyl sorceress Narnirgirthara, the Undying Queen, up until Calovavr Valakarus invaded the land from the north, imprisoned Narnirgirthara and enslaved most of the vaeldrin inhabitants of the ancient forest kingdom.

Pontamar is now ruled by the shaedrin (dark elf) kezzelkir Varaxir Kren, from the ancient vaeldrin city of Lorstalar, the rule of shaedrin only adding insult to injury to the enslaved vaeldrin of Pontamar.

vaeldrin rebels fight a desperate war from hidden enclaves in the forests of Pontamar, lead by the sons of Narnirgirthara, the Princes of Pontamar.

Cerelia Land of the Golden Boar
The land of Cerelia has a proud history of being founded and ruled by the thaedwyl Cerel Verkaelon, the son of Veyek Verkaleon who had united the aumadrin (high elf) kalistarns in the fight against Qalshara, the shaedrin nation in the Darkendeep below, ruled by the shaedrin lich archmage Veldrin Qalshar, and ultimately slew him. Veldrin had become a major threat to the kalistarns (states) of Quelendrim, after he had conquered and decimated the populaces of three out of six kalistarns. Quelendrim changed name to Cerelia in honor of Cerel Verkaleon, but the kalistarns remained the same: Irifarn, Selendris, Elas Marr, Ghan Tiva, Quelnoon and Valamar.

With Cerel Verkaleon as their new Kalissar, or king, the nation's capital became Cerel's home city of Quelnoon, and the Kalae (plural of kalis, a lord of a kalistarn) beneath him remained the same as they had been prior to Veldrin Qalshar's war on the land.

Nowadays, Cerelia is ruled by the wizard-queen, or Kalissira, Zemera Caum from the city of Shael Qara in Selendris, as Cerel's last descendant, Kalissar Thranis Verkaleon, was slain by the dread dragon Sedraal, when the Elderwyrm laid siege to Quelnoon in 16 DA.

Aunura, the Dragon of Dawn, came to Cerelia's rescue, but by then, Sedraal had already slain Kalisssar Thranis and the rest of his family had been slain by Black Behir Assassins, the assassins' guild working for Vodogan Valakarus, the elkezzarin of Valakara.

Zyrrund, Land of the Dragon and Scroll
Zyrrund, Land of the Dragon and Scroll, is the last remnant of Fallen Darakia, the proud draconian empire which once spanned the entirety of Argrea.

For millennia it has been ruled by the Elderwyrm Aunura, the Dragon of Dawn, and during the reign of elkezzarin Lenos Dimer, she willingly became an honorary kezai of the Divine Emperor, even though her might probably far surpassed that of the son of Aluastra, to support the unification of the contintent.

Zyrrund is ruled from Zyr Kalazar, the city named after Aunura's father, the Elderwyrm Kalazar, the Dragon of Light, who was slain by Sedraal and Nithrog during the Dragon War, in the year -1514 FoD, and the dragons and drakeni (dragonborn) of Zyrrund still honor the Path of Light, which was the tradition of Kalazar, including a dogma which prevents them from waging war against the aluwani (children of light), and obligates them to protect and guide them in the name of Aunumar, the Father of All Light.

Thus, when Vodogan Valakarus attacked the lands north of Zyrrund, Aunura sent many dragons and drakeni to help protect those nations, alas in vain.

Today, Zyrrund is closely allied with Cerelia and Mirtarn against the dark forces of Valakara.

Mirtarn, Land of the Swordfish
Mirtarn is a land of seafarers, summoners and swordmages, with a long and proud history of withstanding dark foes and natural catastrophes.

Mirtarn is ruled by the Elderwyrm Auris, the Dragon of Mist, from the city of Mirathas, and like Aunura, Auris willingly became a kezai of Lenos Dimer, after he had vanquished Karagos, in support of a unified continent, and like Aunuara, she also despises Vodogan Valakarus and Sedraal, and has sworn to fight Vodogan until Valakara is no more.

Mirtarn's population consists primarily of adani and drakeni, but while Zyrrund is almost 50% drakeni, Mirtarn has a majority of adani with about 60% adani and 20% drakeni, and also boasts a large population of bhakiri, the proud and benign lion-like humanoids native to the world of Shal Bhakir, which fled to Qorum, when Shal Bhakir became besieged by the strange and malevolent Elder Gods of Meyen Tira, a terifying, twisted world where the rules of normal reality doesn't exist, a nightmarish realm lost to the cursed madness of a pantheon of gods who once

A few questions:
- which material is accessible for character creation?
- are multiclassing and feats allowed (along with the variant human)?

Of course, and appreciate the interest btw.

Tieflings are basically like in standard D&D settings, descendants of hellish demons viewed with a considerable amount of suspicion due to their infernal heritage. Like in standard D&D settings, they don't necessarily have to be evil. Hell in Qorum is known as Malhamat and it consists of eight depths. The Eight Depths of Malhamat from the top down are Vurdgraad, Rizmurcia, Liragrin, Salktri Silt, Yargloth, Shaarvrak, Torkulin and Torterus.

The Eldreth Malecai, or Demon Lords, who rule the Eight Depths of Malhamat are:

Ilmothaal, the Imparter of Anguish: The Eldreth Malecai (demon lord) of pain and anguish, Ilmothaal, along with the other Eldreth Malecai, serve Vitro Kin Sithra and the Dark Tribunal, from their hellish realms in Malhamat, the hell of the Qorumverse, which is also the world where Drath Vaklaath, the abode of Vitro Kin Sithra himself, is located in the lowest Depth of Malhamat, the Depth of Torkulin. The Eldreth Malecai who rules Malhamat are known as the Seven Lords of Hell, and they are all completely devoted to Vitro Kin Sithra and his dark will. Ilmothaal rules over the Depth of Torterus and his symbol is a sarcophagus with spikes inside.

Yzaloc Slaktri, the Centipede of Doom: Yzaloc Salktri is the Eldreth Malecai of Vermin and Creeps, and he resides in the Depth of Salktri Silt in Malhamat. His symbol is a curled up black centipede, encircling seven dark purple eyes.

Rizmur Raad, the Crooked Merchant: Rizmur is the Eldreth Malecai of Greed and Consumption, and he presides over the Depth of Rizmurcia in Malhama, and the city of Qal Rizmur, the City of Gilded Devils, the merchant's mecca of Malhamat, known for its Pits of Molten Gold and Burning Bazaar. Qal Rizmur also has portals to many of the largest markets in Argrea, and disguised orobas, erinyes, adaru, glabrezu, succubi, cambions, and malhadraz often traverse through these gates to conduct business with the muathar of Qorum. Rizmur and his demons relish in fooling muathar into devilish deals, hoping to ulitimately have them sell their souls.

Vurdgar Graast, the Lord of Sorrow: Vurdgar is the Eldreth Malecai of Sorrow and Regret and he presides over the Depth of Vurdgraad, and the city of Drath Graast. His symbol is a pair of teary black eyes.

As a general guideline, I will accept all official D&D 5e materials, but I might require tweaks here and there, probably mostly of fluff, to make it fit within the setting, or outright not allow some stuff if I don't think it fits within the setting at all.

I'm thinking I'll take 5-6 players.

And no set deadline.

Also, I have some setting-specific gods and races in this pdf: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hA2...ew?usp=sharing

I'm taking a leap of faith on this one and offering up one of the rarer races. Absolutely no ill will if you feel it doesn't fit your setting, but let me know if you're interested and I'll change the race to fit. Either way, looks like you've got a lot of ideas here and I'd like to see how they pan out if I'm picked. Good luck to everyone submitting an application.

Character Application

Character Profile: (link)

Name: Boon
Race: Warforged
Class: Fighter Cavalier
Background: Folk Hero

Description: With a surface of blemished bronze, Boon's constructed nature is instantly noticeable. While built in the form of a humanoid, his presence is devoid of life thanks to the stillness that comes from a lack of need to breathe. His expression is often hard to read from his dull neon blue eyes, but other small features react on his face to give a broad idea of the emotion he is conveying. Unrepaired scratches and dents reside across his integrated armor from many scrapes in his short existence. His clothes are similarly worn, serving no purpose to Boon other than make others comfortable. He wears an open waistcoat which leave his metal chest exposed, and a modest pair of trousers.

Personality: Boon is expectantly wooden when interacting with others. Missing many social notes, he carries several strange quirks such as calling people by descriptive labels instead of their names before he is corrected. With a natural curiosity, he is likely to approach and assault people with questions. It soon becomes clear that Boon has been instilled with a good nature, and developed a need help those who need it and do what most would consider 'right.' There is however conflict within him, as he navigates the confusing maze of morality. Above all else, Boon dreams of peace, a time when constructs such as him need not be built.

History: Nine Warforged were once built, creatures developed for battle. Boon was the ninth, and was kept in reserve instead of being released to the war he was created for. Some time later, Boon was released by the Gnome that had taken part in his creation. His new mentor tried to teach him positive values, believing in a better world where there would be no more fighting.

After being released, Boon quickly made a name for himself, defending a village from a raiding party and befriending the locals. It was a very easy step for him to become a resistance fighter and strive to liberate Agaleth, laying his talents to the purpose for which he was created but believing in his cause rather than simply following commands.

RP Sample: Boon had learned a few things in his short lifespan. One was that those that spoke common were not receptive to his words, especially the night before an assault. It was for this reason that his horse served more use than simple tactics. He spent his night in the stable with the animal he had formed a bond with on his travels. He rubbed firmly along the neck, in a way that the creature had shown favorable responses to.

"We must fight for the Royal Aasimar." While he knew it, Boon gave no consideration to the horse not understanding what he was saying. "I will do all I can to protect you." He felt a duty to the animal under his care, just like he was once something of a pet to his creator. "But we must give what we can in the service of those who we ride with. We are better together. All as one alliance. For the many and not the few." Boon continued to spew out mantras that he drew on to make sense of his actions. This felt right. The people had been robbed of their leadership in this land. This was injustice. This was where Boon had to intervene.

"I will stay with you." With that, Boon placed his hand to his side and went into an inactive state. Still he watched over his friend, while rejuvenating his energy for the long day ahead.
