Is it acceptable to just take an average from the dice for Hp and add the con mod for subsequent levels? Or would you like all rolls to be done randomly?

Are you allowing traits?

Am I right in understanding we are all starting at level 2?
Edit: Sorry, just read the announcement thread where this is answered. So this is me just checking in to say I'm stoked to be part of the adventure (I won't be able to PM for 48 hours). I'm working on Eli now. I'm thinking of taking the Life mystery which would fit in well with his miraculous survival at birth. And Tongues as his curse and have him only understand/speak celestial. Is there a special format to post character sheets for the adventure? Last edited by jbear; Jan 23rd, 2012 at 05:32 AM. |

Jbear, you're in group 1, right? In the main forum for this campaign are two threads titled Character Group 1, and Character Group 2. The former is where you should post a copy of your application and a link to your Character sheet. The common practice is to turn your characters name in the application into a hyperlink to your character sheet url. Make sure to set your sheet to Public viewing through the My Characters tool interface.
Edit: JBear the site's character sheets are located in the "Tools" drop down menu located next to the "Log Out" button at the top right of your screen. From there click on the "My Characters" Option. In that there will be a box for you to write your characters name and select the Game template (Pathfinder in this case). It is a fully editable sheet with many nifty features. After you've filled out your sheet, make sure you save it by pressing enter or clicking on the floppy disk icon on the right side of the character sheet. Once you've done that return to the main "My Characters" page and click on the edit button to the right of your chosen character. Select the Make Public option so the DM can access it. To make your Characters name a hyperlink, Copy the url of your character sheet>>> Highlight your Characters name in the application>>> Press the button that looks like a world with a chain on it>>> paste your URL>>Done Last edited by Gaijin; Jan 23rd, 2012 at 05:44 AM. |

Embrodak, because I wasted most of the weekend sleeping, I probably won't post my first game posts until the weekend so you should aim for then for your character sheets. If you are a bit behind for some reason, let me know, it shouldn't be an issue.
jbear, glad to have you in game and I hope Gaijin's post helps with the character sheet. One note, though. Please give it a lot of thought before you limit your language to celestial. Play by post gaming is by its nature very Role play intensive and if you can't directly speak to the others it can limit your fun. One of the biggest advantages to PbP is the ability to have great dialogs. Create the character that you want but understand that if I post once a day and your party is conversing with an informant, that conversation could take a week or more of real world time. That is a long time to have very little to do because you don't understand the language. Just my two cents.

Barly, the limiting language to Celestial only occurs when in battle while stressed. It's one of the curses that Oracles have. It becomes less of a problem as the class progresses and doesn't effect non combat events.

By flaws do you mean 3.5 unearthed arcana flaws?
Also, as Gajin asked, will you allow hp to be the average of the 2nd hit dice (rounded up or down?) or do you want us to roll (and if so where)? What xp advancement rate are we using (fast, medium, or slow)? Last edited by ShadowcatX; Jan 23rd, 2012 at 07:49 AM. |

Another option for the HP is to alternate the rounding every level, so that it maintains the true average. Preferably starting with rounding up on level 2.
Edit: and yeah, seconding those other questions as well. Last edited by Gaijin; Jan 23rd, 2012 at 08:03 AM. |

Flaws are the UA ones, there are no official pathfinder ones...I just advised Barly that he should make them available, because someone always asked! But seriously, I don't want everyone going nuts and taking Murky Eyed for a free feat. That's just silly.
It should be a serious decision to trade something for an extra feat. |

The problem with flaws is they're either minimized or crippling. For example, -4 to perception in exchange for a feat? Not even close to worth it if you're building a character focused on perception (at least not at low levels, you could use that feat to buy skill focus: Perception and come out 2 points of perception ahead at 10th level), but if you're not putting points into perception then that flaw offers virtually no disadvantage.

Kind of like Murky Eyed and noncombatant for spell casters. Double miss chance when attacking or -2 to melee attack rolls? Spell casters don't want to be that close to melee anyway. Or likewise murky eyed on a Dragonfire adept in 3.5, The breath weapon is a 5' wide line or a cone, it doesn't even roll an attack.
