Just waiting on hatter. Also Quince, how does your drake have a +6 to atk? The strength mod is +4, so with BAB it should only be +5. Unless there's some class feature that improves its attack?

It's cool. Just a note, you forgot to add you Con modifier to your HP total. It should be 11, not 10.

About Flying and our Drakes:
So I have given my drake 1 rank in Fly +3 Class skill +2 Dex = +6 But it has poor flying = -4 And it is Large = -2 For a total of +0 on Fly checks. Am I right so far? - If my Drake ascends (45º angle) it moves at half speed to do so - If Drake is damaged while flying it has to make a FLy check DC 10 or drop 10' - If my Drake crashes with something the same size as it or bigger Fly DC 25 or plummet to the ground; I assume this means my drake could crash into Medium or smaller flying creatures and not be affected but they would have to make the check or plummet to the ground. - Due to its size Drakes are only affected by hurricane force winds? - In a turn Drakes must move at least 100 ft or make a fly check DC 10 - To hover on spot DC 15 - A 45º turn costs 5ft of movement; sharper turns req. fly check DC 15; 180º turn for 10 ft of movement req. DC 20; so to turn around 180º without a check requires costs 20ft of movement? As my mount is trained it is not frightened by combat When I'm mounted anything I attack (melee only?) below me I gain +1 attack My mount acts on my initiative; I move at its speed but it uses its action to move As Eli has +8 to Ride check he can guide drake with his legs and use both hands to attack automatically (DC 5) If my mount charges I also gain +2 (melee) atks and suffer -2 AC penalty; Glaives don't deal double damage on a charge? Only a lance? I can make a full attack with a ranged weapon if mount is moving; if it double moves -4 penalty; if it "runs" -8 penalty I can cast a spell but if mount double moves it req. Concentration DC 10 +lvl If my mount falls: I make a ride check DC 15 and take no damage? But what if it falls from 100ft in the air? If I get knocked out I have a 75% chance to stay in (military) saddle. If I fall from 100ft ... bye bye? If I want to attack and have my mount attack on same turn I need to make a Ride check DC 10 If I get hit in the saddle I automatically succeed at staying in saddle (DC5) If I am attacked as an immediate action I can drop down and gain benefit of cover (Ride DC 15) I can't attack like this; Req.move action to get back into saddle. What type of cover? +4 AC ? Or does it depend on DM's judgement call? I can spur my mount to move +10ft in a round (Ride DC 15) but it takes 1d3 dmg; Drakes become fatigued if spurred a second round and can no longer be spurred To mount/dismount drake takes a move action or Ride DC 20 a free action Apart from details given regarding moving and using Drakes breath weapon am I missing anything that might affect my character? |

My impression is that hardcore aerial combat will be something more for higher levels. We may use our drakes to get us places or for flyby breath air strikes for now. Bryn is the only nation with drake mounts, too, although who knows maybe there could be civil war/rebels?
