Okay, so, when I got into this I hadn't read the AP, so I had no idea we'd spend a bunch of time trying to navigate the political sphere of a poorly run ship. I was expecting swash swash buckle buckle, pirate shippery. I found what we were doing, if interesting, really slow. If we were to reboot, I vote for picking up the AP after all this nonsense or find a DM who's interested in just running a piracy campaign. We can keep our characters or not in a jump like that, depending on player's preference.

I'm not married to the AP or anything, though it did sound interesting. I'd be for skipping up to the mutiny part and continuing from there, when we have greater control of our character's destinies.

Well, Khodexus, you sent the message out for a DM before, do you mind doing so again? Maybe you can explain that we've been following the AP but that we'd be open to taking it a different direction as well?

Perhaps, I've been a little less active on the forums lately than I was then. But if no one else wants to do it I can try to get it done here as soon as my schedule allows.

I'm just fine doing it instead, since I check the forums several times a day. Everyone fine with that?

Okay, the ad has been posted. I found Khodexus' original one and simply posted there, updating our situation for any interested DMs.

Hello everyone. I responded to the ad, and I am responding here. hope its ok to interject in your OOC forum. I'm willing to offer my services as a DM if needed.

Some info though. I dont own the AP. SO I probably wouldnt want to do it. You can all keep your characters. what I would do is a little retcon (or maybe a little future-con, since ret-con isnt the right word).

What would be best is ot make the game that people want.

I have some reading to do, if you guys want this, but I think what i'm inclined to do is place the pirate campaign in a lesser known portion of my campaign world (I have an EXTREMELY large campaign world), that has a lot of islands and would allow you to have the piracy campaign you want, but allow me to get going right away. It would also mean that your actions could affect the world at large - maybe- if thats somethign you all care about - or not if you dont. but the krust of it is I wouldnt be using the AP.

I'm a DM thats been running games for (well too long), and I used to be heavily involved in this site, disappeared for a few years, and am involved once again.

I care more about story and while combat is important, its all about the good story, so id need to get an understanding of your characters, and honestly what you're looking for in this game.

Draco - you played with me a WHILE back, if i remember, in Krowout's game. I have some nautical/sailing knowledge/experience, but not as much as you, but I imagine im going to go a bit more hollywood, than realism. On the other hand, i will certainly listen to OOC advice as long as it helps progress the story.

I would realistically post about 4-6 times a week. since its one thread, and not a whole bunch of individual threads, I would be more often than that possibly, as my current campaign each character starts with their own thread. With you all being one thread, its actually less work for me as a DM, so thats fine.

What else --- im not sure, other than that I would want to make the story my own, but still allow you to not have a full reboot.

I might have you guys be sailing and brought into a whirlpool, and found yourselves on unknown seas, AFTER the mutiny has happened.

all this being said, I would ONLY take over if this is something you all wanted.

Oh and I wont take offense if you go - no, id rather not.

i would like to know if you take me on, would people like to fast forward to a mutiny? or continue in the current situation. In otherwords, are the politics of the life interesting, or is it te more swashbuckling type game that people want.

I would personally be fine to fast-forward to the mutiny, especially since you won't have the AP to guide you for the intervening time. Plus, the way things were going, we were almost to that point anyway. I, for one, and doubly so because of my specific character, find the politics quite interesting, though swashbuckling is great too. I know Draco expressed interest in having it be more swashbuckling style recently.

Thus far, the game has been pretty rp intensive, though we've had sporadic combat to spice things up too (we left off with half the PCs fighting some monstrous lobsters or something). I think we all enjoyed the heavy rp, more or less, though I'm fine with upping the action and intensity a notch. I think the biggest gripe was the fact we, as players, kind of had our hands tied, seeing as we were pressed into service in the first place. Hence the idea of moving on to the mutiny is appealing, because it would open up more freedom for the characters.

I have no problem changing game worlds. Golarion is fine and all, but any well-developed game world would suit me fine. My character also isn't opposed to some land action, since he wasn't originally a seafarer anyway (backstory-related, I'll give the full details later, or you can look them up, let me know what you'd like).

4-6 times a week is awesome, I commend you for such a high standard. I personally post as often, though not for each game I'm involved in. Realistically, unless things are flying fast and furious, I aim for 2-3 IC posts per game per week. I'm not sure what the others posting rates are like at the moment.

As for my character, well, I have the endlessly amusing job of playing the lecherous, and oddly chivalrous, comedy relief in the form of the halfling known as Kevaran Portent (Kev for short). He is currently a simple rogue, though, over a rather extensive series of rp events, he has been working his way into multi-classing as a Diviner, once he levels. I haven't decided exactly how he'll progress from there though. He is a rather firm believer in luck and fate, and I intend to take feats that grant hero points to reflect this, in addition to his eventual divination abilities, if you'll allow for them (he already possesses the lucky halfling feat). His abilities are weak in direct combat, at least for now, and he works far better in matters of subterfuge and social backstabbing (he managed to pull off dumping all of the rum from the ship without getting caught, which contributed largely to the crew's current unrest).

He has fairly strong ties to Sarah, Morgan, and Jaala, the three female PCs, and a fairly strong undercurrent of flirtation exists between them, more so with Sarah and Jaala than with Morgan. He also has a good relationship with Bharash and a fair relationship with Estalyr. The only PC that he has a limited relationship with is Thomas, and that most likely has to do with a lack of opportunities to interact with him than anything else.

In regards to the NPC officers, he has a good relationship with Peppery Longfarthing, the ship's resident sorceress, whom he has done business with, as well as 'Cut-Throat' Grok, the ship's quartermaster, also mostly through business transactions. Kev moderately dislikes Mr. Plugg, though this pales in comparison to his hatred of Master Scourge, which has culminated in a personal oath to see the man dead before Kev leaves the ship, owing to his manipulation of and conduct towards Sandara Quinn, an ally of the PCs. Oddly, He remains mostly neutral toward the Captain himself.

Hopefully that gives you some bearing on my character at least. The rp we've had has been very rich and exciting, so it's hard not to recommend reading it all. Of course, that would be a truly daunting task at this point.

I'll start by apologizing to everyone here. I truly love Morgan, but due to circumstances beyond my control, I have been probably the least active player in this game so far. Having said that I'm okay with whatever we decide to do, I'm happy to continue playing the intrigues, or skipping ahead to the mutiny. In truth, it probably wouldn't take alot to fast-track us to the mutiny, as opposed to fast forward.

The difference, in my mind, would be that rather than skipping time, the DM would simply revise the coming scene to bring the mutiny to a head nearly right away. I think it would be enjoyable to play it out either way.

Now, a bit about Morgan, she's young, but a talented wizard, and very fetching. She's used to unwanted male attention due largely to her looks, and the kinds of places she likes to hang out. This, as well as my slower posting rate, is probably the main reason Kev isn't as close with her as he is with the other two girls, she doesn't dislike him or anything, but by his very nature he's the type of person she likes to keep distant.

All her life she's dreamed of adventures on the high seas, and this is largely why she used to frequent dockside taverns and hang out around randy sailors. But the reality of this ship has shattered all her illusions about what pirate life is like. As a result of this she's been very subdued, she got in trouble during the first day on ship, and earned herself some harsh punishments. It was several days before she spoke to anyone else again. She's regained some of her initial spirit, mostly due to coming to realize that she has allies on the ship. Kev was an important part of that, as he came to her seeking some magical instruction, and that caused her to open up a bit.

I wouldn't say that Morgan has a strong relationship yet with any of the other PCs, but she has committed herself to their group and taking over the ship.

If you have any questions, let me know. I'm online almost every day lately, and I try to post whenever possible. My slowdowns of months past are in the past, but I can't necessarily guarantee that I'll be able to maintain a post every day from now on. I'll do my best, and at worst I should at least be able to post a few times a week.

I think I can definitely manage the posting rate that you would like then. I think I can get a story going soon.

For people with a slower posting rate, that can be managed as well.

I'm happy to fast-track the mutiny, rather than fast forward to it, if thats what people are interested in.

Im happy to take over whenever people want. Is the current DM on at all anymore, or do we need to contact the admins to perform the actual DM assignment. Obviously, this is assuming the other players are ok with my plan. (as i said, I want everyone to feel comfortable).
