This awesome. A big thanks to Karver, stepanxol, TheJester and Goliathus for setting-up and running this service. A brief intro here and then off to the matchmaking thread.

I retired at the end of 2016 and found that now, I had the time for role-playing, which I had stopped shortly after leaving college. I found RPGCrossing around mid-2017 and managed to stumble into a couple of the Shared Worlds. I am now GM and player in Dungeon Delving and The West Marches. As well, PbP contributes more to domestic bliss than disappearing for 4-6 hours at a time.

Generally, I am looking for something that is a contrast to Dungeon Delving and the West Marches. Both games tend to be high in combat, and West Marches has a bit of exploration. As well, both are 5e and Fantasy settings. So, I am looking for something that is not them - high social, with a bit of mystery and investigation; possibly exploring a ruleset other than 5e and ideally taking a look at modern fantasy.

I have a few projects in my backlog that do not fit into the 5e Shared Worlds in which I run, but I am not yet ready to turn them into a full-fledged game. First, I am a big fan of Modern Urban Fantasy (e.g., current world plus magic and magical creatures). Second, I have got a number of gaming systems that I would like to check-out:

• core:2050 is a playtest set of mechanics designed to graft Modern Tech onto 5e ruleset (e.g., Modern Sub-Classes, guns and grenades, cyber-tech, chems and addiction)
• Cypher - I have got the various Cypher products (Numenera, Strange, Masked) or we could just go with Cypher mechanics in a Homebrewed World.
• FATE - I am still trying to wrap my head around exactly how the mechanics work for FATE and FATE Accelerated.

Additionally, I have the bits and pieces of a couple of Homebrewed Worlds kicking around:

• Phoenix City is early renaissance fantasy setting - designed for 5e
• Viva Vegas is a modern day Las Vegas (and South West Area), built for Modern Fantasy

@stepanxol, yes I understand the overcommitted feeling. I have an online friend with whom I did a fair amount of solo-gaming. Alas, she has some personal commitments and had to bow-out. I am hoping that a solo game will allow me to scratch the itch without the heavy lifting of starting up a full-up adventure.

A big thanks for pointing out Cthulu Confidential and the Gumshoe One-2-One system. I may need to add that to the list of systems with which I am willing to experiment.

Howdy! A buddy of mine is running a non-standard d20 with an Arabian Nights theme. Players are blind to their sheets and stats and practically all mechanics except d20 rolls. It's interesting to learn your character this way. He needs a player who is willing to fill a female role. If interested PM me for details.

Howdy all, just stopping in to meet 'n' greet. I've passed through the Bazaar before but it really caught me this time, so I've since posted my preferred games in the matchmaking thread. Been hankering trying out a lot of different systems and this seems like a really nice environment to do so in. And if nobody wants to try out something different, I'm pretty familiar with Pathfinder too.
