Well I'm no expert but it sounds like without a class feature that grants a riding rat you'd need to buy one with your starting gold. Most animal companions and mounts granted by class features get more powerful as you level up, but ones that you buy generally don't, and are often less useful in combat. Still good enough for carrying your stuff though.

Oh, I thought I'd have to pay for it either way; I didn't know there were features that just gave you one. If all you have to do is pay for it, I've already budgeted for it.

That would give him a result of 7 (His modifier) +13 (taking 10/13) +2 (His Business is Masterwork) -4 (his Workers) = 18

He normally sells General Goods, but will tailor his stock according to what he thinks will make a profit.
Knowing that he was coming to Sandpoint, he will no doubt have the standard stock that were seen in Medieval Fairs. These were:

Goods included handicrafts, perfumes, lovely wood carvings, furs, and delicious fruits of different kinds which were brought from different countries.

These things were considered foreign luxuries and were mostly bought by rich people. There were also spices, cheese, flour, wine, and meat.

His Business gives him 10x his result in Gold Pieces (so 180 GP) unless you would rule it less, given that this takes place over a day rather than a month.
