Nice meeting you virtually. Thanks for the feedback. The three relationships I wrote are from Eleanore's point of view, not a summary of all the cascading relationships everybody has. To your point, Vorjun (that's Avner character) has more friends and Eleanore will get to know them if they part of the same party.

Oh sorry if relationships give that impression. Eleanore might not even get picked up for the campaign at all. In fact, I was rejected in my last two campaign applications. I'm not on a streak.

I adjusted the relationship to be a bit more generic, she could had meet Vorjurn anywhere.

Eleanore knows a lot of weirdos. There are several Dragonborn in the region these days, Vorjurn for sure is the most articulate. He somehow found a way to convince Eleanore that he's not like the other dragons and that he's a good guy. Considering that Eleanore hates dragons and their cult in particular, this is quite a feat. He proved his worth to the town by his actions. The introvert female ranger is considering his offer to join his crusade against the cult of the dragon. They need more resources, help and a plan about how to go about this

I actually like the way you've written Eleanor quite a bit and I really appreciate the positive energy you bring to the table. Previous post was more... me showing my tendency to overthink at times. LOL. I love how much that minor tweak opened up so much in regards to when and where you met. I would also be in favor of Vorjurn having introduced Brody and Eleanor, if you were in agreance...

There we go, I updated my listing with an optional tie to MoonZar if we should both be picked. I played it as if I had met her in my travels in the past, so no major tie to Greenest other than the week I have spent there since being ambushed! Let me know if that works.

Since I have now decided to go with 2 groups of 6, any connection you make may be null and void if two so connected characters make the cut, but are in different groups.

I have compiled a full list in the new game thread (that only I can see - no peeking) with all characters and no player names. I used Excel to paste the app table into, and deleted the player name column. Once I dive in and start to look deeply at all of the apps on Thursday - Saturday, I will not focus at all on what character belongs to what player. Truthfully, I couldn't recall more than half of who belonged to who after I made the list and looked back over it.
There's still time for some more apps to drop in, but everyone's odds just got better with 12 now making the cut.

Nilee'Dirzaste Character Name: Nilee'Dirzaste (meaning 'Keeper of Corpse-dreams' in Deep Speech) Race: Half-Drow Class: Rogue Background: Far Traveller (The Underdark) Physical Description: Nilee'Dirzaste, or just Nilee as she wants to be called, is a young, tall and slender woman. She is athletic build and with movements that carry a deadly elegance. Although she is a half-breed, she looks very much like a Drow; long pointy ears, ashen-dark skin and long white hair. What makes her stand out from a normal Drow is her ice-blue irises instead of pure white orbs. When adventuring she keeps her long hair in a top-knot to prevent it from getting in the way. Her body is covered in fine strands of scars, which she doesn't make much effort in covering up. In Drow society, revealing such scars is a mark of status. Personality: Nilee has a strong-willed personality. She is cautious and enigmatic. However she is quick to respond and is prone to sudden mood changes. She hates to see children suffer as she herself was abused as a child. She would rather assist than lead and works best alone. Being a child of both mixed blood, she often finds it difficult to live in both surface world and the Drow's home beneath. In the Underdark she is treated only slightly better than a Drow male. On the surface world she is feared for the race she look the most. All this contribute to the difficulty in finding her identity.   Trait: I express affection or contempt in ways that are unfamiliar to others. Trait: I think anyone who's nice to me is hiding evil intent. Ideals: Independence. I must prove that I can handle myself without the coddling of my family. (Chaotic) Bonds: I have a father, but I have no idea where he is. One day, I hope to see him again. Flaws: I am slow to trust members of other races   Nilee was born to a priestess of Lloth and grew up in menzoberranzan, the city of spiders. She had a brother and used to have a sister, but was forced to kill her to save herself. Of her human father she only knew of what her mother had told her. That he was the son of a famous dragon slayer and a temporary fling to her mother before he disappointed her. The disappointment was that she became pregnant with his child. Of what Nilee had from her father was a gold ruby ring which she kept in a silver chain around her neck. She would always wear it under her garments as a token for hope. One of her mother's favorite past times was taking a nice hot bath and watch her children fight. She would start the fighting by producing a weapon from her bath and throw it to her children. Those who didn't fight would feel their mother's chilling touch of pain that no child should ever want to feel twice. Her sister, while being very young by Elven standards, was particularly nasty and didn't need any prompting to attack. She would often go for the sharpest, most wicked blade available and just come at Nilee or her brother. It was no wonder that Nilee learned how to defend herself at a young age. While she had an advantage over her sibling, being taller and stronger, she had many times felt the point of a dagger or a crack of a whip on her skin. The whip was her sister favorite weapon, because it was meant to inflict pain rather than wound. Nilee and her brother, Mor'el, were forced to spar on many occasions, both of them having a bit of mutual respect for each other. She and her brother were made to hunt rats in the sewers around the city to feed their mother’s pet spiders, which held more standing in the house than a half-breed or a male. They were reminded on a daily basis by their mother that they were barely more important to the house than the rats they caught. Needless to say Nilee's upbringing wasn't a pleasant one to say the least. One day her sister, Vieril, attacked Nilee unexpectedly from behind while she was out hunting rats. She managed to dodge the blow, being always on her guard in case of an attack. Vieril, however, tripped and fell over a rock. Nilee flew into a rage and stomped on the back of her sister's head, crushing it between the rocks. The sudden attack made her momentarily lose control. Nilee doesn't like to lose control, so she reeled from the experience and scolded herself harshly before her mother got a chance. Surprisingly her mother was actually impressed. With a newfound respect for her half bastard and a sign of some promise as a warrior for the Drow army, her mother sent her to the assassin instructor of the house outside of menzoberranzan. However Nilee had other plans. While the carriage, pulled by giant slugs, was bringing her to the training camp, the half-drow slipped away. She had realized that despite how much she would be trained as an assassin she would only be seen as an 'investment', a killing machine in her mother's eyes. She decided that her best chance to win the respect from her mother was to kill her. But not before Nilee was ready. She managed to slip up to the surface. As the alien light shined from the exit, Nilee kneeled to pay respect for the goddess only whispered in the dark corners of Menzoberranzan. Reasoning Lloth could not do much on the surface world, least of all help her on her personal quest, she renounced the spider goddess and embraced Eilistraee. When she stood up again her mind was fixed on finding her father. She spent the first couple of days to think of what to do on the surface world. The Underdark was a big place and the surface is even bigger. The fauna was stange to say the least. She hid in the dark recesses she could find to avoid the sun’s blinding rays and the attention of the surface dwellers. It didn't take long before she got used to the daylight. She also learned much of this new world, where trees grew instead of gigantic mushrooms. With a heavy cloak to conceal her face, she decided to travel southwards. One night she heard a rumor while she sat lonely in a corner in a road-side tavern, of a human, said to be the son of a dragon slayer and courteer of a Drow priestess, who was a retired merchant from the northern lands. Nilee questioned for further information and learned that this Drow lover was from Menzoberranzan, which happened 25 years ago. Around her age. This Drow priestess received a ruby ring as a token for their love, but she turned away and returned to the depths of her dark home. The biggest surprise in the tale was he was living just across the street. That is, until he, a few days ago, was forced into a carriage by hooded men and brought further south. Nilee pressed on asking. But when she had asked a question too many, the patrons got suspicious. One of them pulled the heavy hood from her head, showing them who she really was. Adding one and one together they attacked her. Nilee defended herself, a thing she was no stranger of from her childhood, quickly dashed out of the tavern and hid herself. As she found solace behind a stack of kindling, the patrons yelled threats and assurances that the Cult of the Dragon never forgets nor forgives. She remained hidden until the sun rose up to a new morning. Having learned news of her father, she entered the locked merchant's home and started her investigation of his whereabouts. She found her answer, half-burned and hidden in the ashes of the house's fireplace. It was a letter, but she couldn't make much of the remaining words. Only one name of a village was written: Greenest. Her destination was set and she would stop at nothing to find the man she would call her father.

If you are concerned as to whether any ideas you have on making changes will help or hurt your app, please ask me in a secret tag or PM, and I'll truthfully answer. Right now, honestly, I don't know what might or might not affect my decision(s), but if any of you are "worried", just ask, and I'll honestly answer after looking at the subject matter. I say this, because I want everyone to feel good about what they've put in an app.
I too, have been left out of the cut on way more games here on the site, than games I've gotten into. I'd be lying if I said one or two didn't hurt a bit because I thought my character and "app" were top notch. While that may be true, it all boils down to what the DM/GM sees as fitting their vision of the game.
I will mentally place your character, as you've written them, into the Campaign as I see it; walking around, engaging in combat, using their skill set, interacting with other characters, achieving victory, and failing. Some will "feel" right from the beginning, and some will grow on me, so that I'll have to get down to smaller things and a true fit.
That's the best description I can give for how I'll choose. Yes, I know I'm not obligated to share any of this, but I intend to invest in those characters chosen as much, or more actually, as I am investing in the Campaign world itself.
