Hey everyone, my homework pile is reaching epic heights and I am not sure I will be able to give this game the full attention it deserves... so... with massive regret I think I am going to have to pull my app.

I'm very sorry but I figure it is better to do that now rather than commit and let you all down - plus it gives you a chance to recruit the tech - maybe Solitaire64?

I just know you are going to have a great game.

So of our two Roughnecks (@Psuedenim and Solitaire64) are one of you interested in dipping more into wits and comtech? If one of you want to lean more towards electronics, I'll allow you to make wits your key attribute instead of strength. This would allow the crew to function with 5 rather than 6. It's totally up to you though! We might still get a 6th member to fill that roll.

Not a problem, my concept can be flexible. He became a supervisor after all; maybe he spent time in the equivalent of community college and then worked in an office.

I could full on switch to Technician or Scientist as I haven't rolled anything and the cargo handling part of my background would be easy to swap out.

Solitaire is already dipping into medicine so I can be flexible too

Pseudenim, if you prefer to switch to scientist, you can go ahead and do that. Since it's a wits based career, you can be pretty decent at comtech. Otherwise we can just have Solitaire64 be a Roughneck/techy hybrid. You guys can decide amongst eachother.

Are we using pre-gen characters as its a cinematic experience and not a campaign?

My original plan was to hand out the stat blocks of the pregens that match the character with the same career. I'm going to create threads in the game with that information within the next day or two. If someone was inclined to tweak their attributes/skills a little though, that would be fine. The scenario does give a list of gear available on the ship though, so you won't have to choose your own starting gear. I'm not going to deviate from the starting gear too much as I don't want to cause any imbalances in the scenario.

I did it on Discord/Virtual Tabletop (with formerly in-person group that no longer lives nearby). I think it would work pretty solidly in PbP though. At least the way we played it had a lot of focus on the character psychology and slow unfolding of the plot.

Most definitely - that's what my aim will be in this game. I like the fact that in PbP you're able to really dig in and focus on details that you tend to miss in traditional table top settings. I think that's what drew me here in the first place. Also the fact that asynchronous play is really the way to go in this stage of my life!

Sounds like you've got the right idea! If you don't mind I may lurk on occasion to see what you all are doing with the scenario. And if you do another Alien RPG game after this one I may apply. (Also feel free to PM if you want to discuss the module at all, though I'm not logged in a ton at the moment.)
