We do covid testing at our plant for some workers, about a half dozen a week (per the schedule I make up).
Today, testing was from 7 am to 8 am. We hire a local clinic to do the testing.

0700, no nurse.
0705, she arrives. She's sorry, she had to drop her kid off at school.
0705, I bite back my retort of "I really don't care why you can't be on time, I pay your company to be here, and ready, ten minutes ago", and just nod, and take her inside the office to the testing room.

0715: she's ready for the first person, I get him in, he starts filling out paperwork. I also bite back my displeasure at her being late, because I have a guy that's worked 12 hours, since 7 pm the night before, waiting for her so he can get tested.

0720: she excuses herself to walk down the hall, to talk on her cell phone.

0730: She comes up to me, to ask me "When do we HAVE to get these people tested by?"

Turns out, "whoever" prepped the bag of supplies for COVID testing forgot to put any COVID TESTS in the GD bag.

And she forgot to check when she picked it up.

So... she offered to drive to the clinic, get some tests, and come back... it's an hour drive across town to the clinic, another hour back.

0735: I told her to leave.

Here's a free lesson for anyone about to enter the workforce:

Be on time. In fact, be early.

If the class starts at 9, be there at 8:30 to make sure your computer works, the projector has power, the room is open, etc.. If X starts at 7, that doesn't mean you get into the parking lot at 7, then unpack your stuff, and take a half hour to set up. It means you are set up, ready to go, and starting at 7.

Be prepared: If you are supposed to have 10 test kits, makes sure you have ten test kits. Or better yet, take 12. If someone else was supposed to get everything ready for you, don't trust them. Check yourself. Make sure.

The Army had a lot messed up: but they did get somethings right.
