Champions of Mythros

Game NameChampions of Mythros
Game SystemPathfinder 1e
SettingLostrealms of Mythros
ThemeHeroic Fantasy
FlavourForgotten Realms, Elder Scrolls, Warhammer
Background
Plot Summary

The Players answer the call for those who need help to rid the untamed wilds of monsters and other threats that may arise. Like that of hordes the likes of undead, orcs and goblins, even including those that may threaten to cause havoc where ever it appears throughout the lands. Where ever it maybe. As you're sellswords. Going from one quest to the other that needs your talents for eliminating those problems. Even raiding dungeons of its treasures deep within. Do you have what it takes to be a champion of Mythros and help out those who hires you?
Settings World DetailsThe landscape and nations of Mythros (the major continent that most of the setting takes place on) is similar to that of Faerūn, in look, feel and flavor. Though most of Mythros' nations are mostly monarchistic, though there are others under some other kind of system of government (like magarchy or theocracy or something other). Its flora and fauna is the same Faerūns, including the creatures and the races that inhabit this world, wilderness and its many countries. That's in the character generation section, even like those listed within the campaign guide. This settings world is known as Calloria (pronounced Cal-lore-e-a). Which it's heavily influenced by Forgotten Realms, with some Elder Scrolls (particularly Skyrim) and Warhammer scattered throughout. As apposed to having a single moon like Toril does, it has two that one can can see visibly with ones own eyes without additional visual aid, since the other three are further away from the planet, that varies in sizes and requires a telescope to view. The greater moon Gesurn (tidally locked) is the same size as Faerūn's Selūne and in color, while the lesser moon Sanus (that's actually a planet) is smaller in size and and has a milky white color to it, like that of Luna in Greyhawk. Both moons pull and revolve around one another, while the greater moon is the major one that effects things like the tides, seasons and lycanthopy. Although the lesser moon is revered as well for its phases and influencing effects on the world, just like the greater moon with both revolving around the planet with the rest of the moons. Calloria's similar Toril axis tilt and it's rotation around its sun. Making the hours in a day, amount of days, months and years as long.

GMs note: This is not a Forgotten Realms PF conversion, it's only inspired by which this setting of mine is drawn from. That and from the other two that are listed in flavor section.

Could you give a bit more information on the world itself?
Does it resemble Golarion/Earth/Other in the types of Countries/People of the world?

My forming idea is for a feudal, serf, longbowman type character, that has earned release, having served a minor stint in his Lordship's forces against a rival. He is trying to earn enough to purchase his own parcel of land to retire onto, and maybe buy his parents rented land from his former Lord.
Mechanically, he would be a Human Fighter, with the Archer Subtype.

A couple of questions:
-Would this be a fit for this world/campaign?
-Are you using the Elephant in the Room Feat Tax and/or Background Skills Rules?

That would fit in fine. I’m not using either one, just trying to keep things simple and easy, so one can focus more on their characters, the story, plot and the play of the game. That and more like that of the basic rules of the core supplements, like that out of the Core Rulebook and most of the other books that came after, before it got to out of control with even further books that came afterwards, leading up to the development and release of the second edition. So trying to make it mostly simple and not to overwhelming for those new and old to PF to play.

Application
right-aligned image

Name: Jack Cottar
Class: Fighter (Archer Subtype)
Race: Human

Background:
Born the youngest of eight children, Jack was a strain on the already poor household of Serf's, who lived on a small parcel of land that they rented from Lord Dedreck Hove on his Estate, but they managed to scrape by as they always had. Over the years, Jacks siblings managed to get apprenticeships in various trades, and were able to purchase their release from the land. Jacks eldest brother married and stayed on the plot of land of their forefathers. When the next generation of Cottar's started to become as numerous (if not more so) than the last, Jack could see that their land could no longer support him as well. Getting his grandfathers armour fixed and fitted to himself by a brother who had apprenticed to a blacksmith, and a bow he had carved from oak, he joined Lord Dedreck's Army in a feuding Campaign against a neighbouring Lord. Once the Campaign was over, Jack took his payment in the form of emancipation, which as the Lord had little coin left (wars are costly) was an agreeable option.
Jack is now looking to make his fortune as a free man, but what way would a man with little in the way of tradeskills do to legally earn coin? He had skill with a bow, so he could become either a mercenary or......an Adventurer!

Personality:
A simple man, but not a stupid one, Jack has simple tastes, and a strong sense of family, though "family" can be extended to mean friends and comrades-in-arms over time. He is a quiet, but resolute advocate of Erastil, God of farming and hunting for sustenance rather than sport, and shows his devotion through his actions rather than words, as "Old Deadeye" would want.

I think that's my application complete, unless you need anything else?

I see you're going for rolled stats, rather than Point Buy. Will that be in a seperate thread once the application process is done?

What happens if my concept character ends up with less the average rolls? Will you allow for us to make a different character concept after being selected? I know any die can go to any stat, but sometimes the dice are possessed and actively seek to ruin our fun.

Name: Wade "Bright-eyed" Goldram
Class: of the Iron Mountain archetypeMonk
Monk Vow: Restriction: The monk is not allowed to deliberately speak any lies, including bluffing, stating half-truths with the intent to deceive, exaggerating, telling white lies, and so on. This applies to all forms of communication. If presented with circumstances where telling the truth would bring harm to another, the monk remains silent. Many monks of this vow also take a vow of silence to show their commitmentVow of Truth
Race: Iron Within & Lore Keeper.Dwarf
Personality: Wade is a very serene individual, growing up away from his people he has followed the ways of his masters and only speaking when necessary. Idle chat and relationships have not been explored for Wade. The only sign of his people he retains is his beard neatly combed and braided at the bottom. To others Wade is polite but distant, should people try to engage him in conversation he will often let loose a proverb or phrase drummed into him from his masters. As an apprentice of the Iron Mountain way, Wade is looking to challenge himself while honing and growing his skills as has been tradition for many generations beforehand. Those who ask about Wade's family will get a direct answer "They met an unfortunate end on a snowy trail, I was only a babe." No sorrow would be noted in his voice but there is a longing to know his clan name just to know his heritage. As is said by Master Yewlan "We must know where we've been before we can see our sturdy path ahead".

Background:
Wade Goldram was the name given to a foundling by the monastery of the Iron Mountain in the Northern region. The best that could be gathered was a bandit band attacked a traveling dwarven caravan, Wade was not the only child found but was the only one to survive the elements. He was found under a pile of furs, fate had an eye on this child. With no direction and harsh weather, the Monks brought the child back to the monastery and raised him with the help of a village wet-nurse that was known to them. The dwarf child became an initiate of the order at the age of 32, a teenager for him but for his fellow human initiates they'd already grown enough to leave and flourish.

He was raised to restrain and control himself, to only use lethal force when met with same. To remain sturdy and still as stone, to remain unyielding; eventually to remain silent like stone. Wade took very well to this mentality, his racial features gave him a natural aptitude toward all opposition. He was given the name of an ancient dwarf initiate who left the monastery an age ago and never returned. Thus Wade had no opportunity to learn his family or clan name, something that always remained a key point of interest for him.

The training also extended towards the history of the world, Wade always going back to dwarven history. Some noted this as typical young curiosity others saw it as a fruitless endeavour. Being among masters who took a vow of silence required Wade to think upon every word said; but having relief of conversation with travellers, traders and villagers that would visit was a soothing respite. Through the many years Wade realised that many waste their time and breathe instead of letting each word ring true, concise and effective, thus he adopted many of the proverbs of his brothers and masters.

After his 47th "birthday", being among the foundlings his birthday was noted as the day he was discovered. Wade had finally matured enough in body and spirit to walk the trail and share the fruits of his labour. Traders would come almost weekly with fresh ore or ingots that the monks would forge or have made into tools or weapons. One such day Wade was sent off with the bare essentials and a pocket full of gold. His direction was simple "Head East, go toward the edge of the snow but before the rolling hills and find a Elven barkeep called Andrealia, she will tell you about the world and places that require our assistance." With that Wade got onto the trader's caravan and walked East, letting the feel of stone dictate the path he should take.

It can and does happen, then in that instance you would have play your character how it was rolled sadly. Although one may re-roll one or two bad low scores, though would have to keep them either way sadly. Even if those re-rolls are the just as low, I know that would put you at a disadvantage during play. But one could try to turn those less then average scores into an advantage and try to over come them the best they can, with adversity. Like those in the real world with less then average abilities and such.
