I am a bit oversubscribed on the site at the moment. I'm going to withdraw for now, but if it is ok, I am going to leave my application here. If one or more of my games stops in the future, and the Mines of Madness is still going, I'll come back and use Louie again.

Yes...your application and a link to your completed character sheet need to be done before you are selected.

Name: Naalu Dayadi Gender: Male Race: Earth Genasi Class: Cleric (Tempest) Alignment: Neutral Good Background: Sailor Personality Trait: I’m confident in my own abilities and do what I can to instill confidence in others. Ideal: People. I’m committed to the people I care about, not to ideals. (Neutral) Bond: I have a family, but I have no idea where they are. One day, I hope to meet them. Flaw: I’d rather eat my armor than admit when I’m wrong. Hook: Raised by Water Genasi, Naalu grew up in a culture more dynamic and mercurial than typical earth genasi temperament . Graciously accepted for who he was, he still felt like a stranger in his own life. Like many of his water genasi adopted brethren, he is a talented sailor. However, he is mistrusting of the seas. Naalu's sworn service to Istishia, God of Water, fills him both with joy and satisfaction as well as a strange guilt; somehow that he is betraying his earth elemental nature. During his voyages, he has yet to find clues to his own earth elemental tribe. There have been rumors of a magical artifact of mysterious powers - the Forever Stone. Naalu hopes to discover the Stone's true power and unlock the truth of his origins, whether on the Material plane or the Elemental. Character Sheet: Naalu Dayadi

"Oskar, stand straight boy! You may be the son of a no-good nobody, but I best never see you actin' like it." "That's right. The fingers turn like so. Make sure it has become firm, then let it go. No, no no! You need to feel it, boy." "Human, it is good to see you again. Come inside, it is cold out. My sons will be glad to see you, they've waited for your tales!" "It's been years since a traveler has come this far out, what sort of stories brought a man to my door this time? Hopefully not one that makes me as a monster, those visits never end well..." "The mine? It's only a half a ten' to the east... what, have you thought to give it a try?" Gender: Male Race: Human Variant (Half-Mul) Class: Fighter (Eldritch Knight) Alignment: Neutral Good Background: Sailor (Fisherman) Personality Trait: I work hard so that I may hold my head high and speak of myself with pride. I am curious. I want to know why things are the way they are and why people do the things that they do. Ideal: All men are equal, they are not made this way by birth, but I know it to be true all the same. The path to power and self-improvement is through knowledge and experience. Bond: I've traveled for many years and have made many friends; in places ranging from houses of academia to tribal lands, paved roads to back alleys. My mother always wished we'd had the money for me to go to some fancy academy instead of work on the docks. I now doggedly pursue knowledge partly in memory of her wishes. Flaw: I am too willful. I will speak my mind even when doing so is only likely to bring hardship upon myself. I will always have a bit of hate in me for nobility; the hatred borne of poverty is a hard thing to lose. Hook: Oskar originally heard of the Forever Stone as a fantastical story when he was a child, then again as a grand relic when he studied under Thazarus, picking apart the man's impressive libraries. It was only the third time, when he'd heard it in the form of a song from a traveling bard, that he paid it mind. The man spun the tale of a band of adventurers who'd braved the mines, who'd come out legends even when they'd failed to reach the stone. He'd said as well that the mine had not been far, only days to the east. Laid out aside the campfire well past night, with the elvish musician snoring a few feet away, Oskar gazed upon the stars and knew. He would never forgive himself if he did not try. He would travel east at daybreak. Character Sheet: Link Last edited by Anthrueser; Sep 19th, 2018 at 12:38 PM. |

Application complete - thanks for considering it.
Dice Start money:
Name: Jimmy Precariously Gender: Male Race: Human (variant) Class: Warlock (Celestial patron, chain pact) Alignment: Chaotic Good Background: Criminal Personality Trait: I lie about almost everything, even when there's no good reason to. I keep multiple holy symbols on me and invoke whatever deity might come in useful at any given moment. Ideal: I steal for people in need (sick mother). Bond: My ill-gotten gains go to support my family. Flaw: I turn tail and run when things look bad. Hook: Jimmy (not his real name) wants to find the forever stone to cure his poor ma. He has been forced into a life of crime to fund her increasingly elaborate and expensive procedures, but he doesn’t know how long he can keep it up. Gender: Male Race: Human (Variant) Class: Fighter Alignment: CN Backround: Mercenary Veteran (SCAG) Character Concept: Durac is your front line fighter. He is a rough and tumble mercenary type that does not put up with much. He does not tolerate fools or those drunk with authority. He could best be described as Bronn from A Game of Thrones. Appearance: Durac is in his late thirties and with dirty black hair he is not one to fit in with the clean crowd. He is better at home in the seedy inns and taverns found near the docks. Personality: Durac has zero tolerance for authority of any type. A town guard or constable who gets in his way will likely get a dirty look or a sharp retort. Durac also has a strong hatred of orcs. He tolerates half-orcs depending on their upbringing. Any half-orc that embraces their orc side is no better than a full blooded orc in his eyes. Durac is on a mission to locate his long-lost wife and child he has not seen them in over a decade. Ideal: When people follow orders blindly, they embrace a kind of tyranny. Bond: Something important was taken from me, and I aim to get it back. Flaw: I have trouble keeping my true feelings hidden. My sharp tongue lands me in trouble. Background: Durac grew up at a simple tenant farmer in the Silver Marches. Many years ago his area was raided by the orcs of the Kingdom of Many Arrows. Taken prisoner by the orcs Durac was their slave for over 15 years. For the majority of that time he tolled away as a laborer, building or destroying. Whatever his orc masters desired. After many years Durac was able to escape his captors. Alone and lost in the wilderness he came upon an unsavory mercenary company by the name of The Black Guild. They took him in and made him one of theirs. Durac served with the Black Guild for two years and during that time he fought against his former captors the orcs and served as a member of the Black. After working for the guild thorough out the North Durac grew tired of the life and left the company of the Black. Now he searches for any sign of his family. Their whereabouts is a mystery, all he knows is they were not killed or taken as captives all those years ago. RP sample: You have been on the road for a couple of hours and heavy clouds threaten from the horizon. The sun is low in the sky and the earlier warmth of the day has given way to an unseasonably chill afternoon. The silence which had been companionable now hangs over you all like a shroud, dampening your spirits. Hoping to lighten the mood you fall back on a familiar game, played many times during your travels together. "Did I ever tell you about the time The Black Guild was charged with guarding this supply caravan? Well this caravan was over 2 dozen wagons long. We were charged with escorting it from Silverymoon to Waterdeep. What was the cargo? Does it really matter? All that mattered is that they paid us well. Anyway there we were, about halfway though the trip and a long one it was, stretching hundreds of miles from the far north all the way to the City of Splendors. We were a large group, that alone was enough to scare away most raiders, no one wanted to tangle with us. Finally something did happen. a host of gnolls came upon us. Gnolls are a strange otheworldly force of dogmen who live for nothing more than death and destruction. That was the day indeed, an epic battle to rival any other. Their must have been close to a hundred of them and only 30 of us. We fought and we fought, we lost many Blacks that day, but we were able to fend the host of gnolls off. What was left of them put their tail between their legs and ran like the beat dogs they were! Great day it was. We buried our dead and sang and drank to their deaths at the next town." Hook: Reports of the forever stone have surfaced. Durac knows that if found it would be a great prize to be sold on the open market. The money from the sale would set him up for years. Not yet. I'm trying to finish up the two groups I currently have running. Hopefully I'll be able to start another once the holidays are over.

Oddball question: Can I change character aspects at this point? I've begun playing a version of my character in another campaign. If we're locked in at this point, I'll just change his name.
