I really like the concept but as a fellow player, how will we interact with your character in the party? If looking the character in the face turns us into the stone (or generally looking at your character), that might make interaction difficult?

I may need to brush up on my Greek myth but didn't Medusa and her sisters turn anyone who even looked at them to stone automatically?

Again this is not a criticism, just general curiosity. I might definitely be missing something here.

Good question! I don’t think I put it in my post so you didn’t miss anything. I do think original gorgons did auto-stone everyone. I was sort of imagining a nerfed version where wearing a veil/hood protects others from turning to stone or maybe it’s an ability that can be controlled with training or some kind of magic.

That said, I’m happy to hear thoughts/idea and if it ends up really not working I can easily make her a harpy instead, which I think still fits the character.

I don't think that is safe for anyone. In any kind of combat (or even if you trip) you can drop your mask or hood and then poof, we are all rolling saving throws

I actually had an idea that I dropped Innuvash in a PM. Maybe it's dumb so let's see what he says first. I really like the concept of your character being punished this way though, it really fits with the setting
