EDIT: Looking back, that was a bit of an exaggeration. Apparently I reached out to RC in August of last year, so I guess Outplay was shorter.

Outplay WAS shorter last year. That was one of the nice things about it was the lack of rounds. When we do rounds there’s a week in between for the judging so it takes twice as much calendar time than when we just played straight through.

To be honest, both myself and at least one other judges absolutely enjoyed Ikol more than any other character. The writing was fantastic and I personally thought he was hilarious. The problem is that the shtick overwhelmed actual content — and the content was the ‘results’ we were looking for.

Each judged looked at it as they saw fit, so you got 6 different ways of looking at it. For myself, I figured that while Mifflewerf was a bit touched, he wasn’t an idiot. While I have enjoyed Outplay, I might not make it next year. It happens to be the busiest time of the year for me, and I hate starting something I might not finish.

As for the POTM, I was planning on nominating someone, but I just could not decide. Decided to put it off until the last post was in. Since I still can't pick one I guess it just shows how indecisive I can be. I might just pick all the post's I liked best and then roll a dice and let fate decide

Put you over the edge for having a game to play? I mostly advertise as a commitment device: once it's in my sig, I'll feel like an ass if I get lazy or nervous and consider backing out. I don't imagine that all that many people see my signature. I figure if the typical game has 4 or 5 players and one GM, then for the site to be sustainable, for every 4 games a person plays, they ought to GM one. (Nevermind that I'm taking a statistical tautology and turning it into a moral imperative.)

In full disclosure, the sig teaser is a technique that I stole from PopCultureBard anyways.
