My first character was a Halfling thief in D&D. He eventually retired to be an NPC in games I ran deciding that he had gained enough wealth and fame and that eating and drinking were a much better thing to do with his time than adventuring. Any thief I have has a bit of him in him -a playing chaotic spirit.

Can't remember my first character (it was about 1984 or so). I do remember having an evil Cleric I really liked. He was cursed and was slowly turning into some kind of lizard. Rather than try an get the curse lifted, I decided to roll with it. Never did finish that game so I never found out what he was becoming.

First character
My very first character was a half-elf monk in a world created by a friend fo mine. He was a cast out, born to the head priest of his coutnrie's religion. He was never accepted as a true member of his people, the Aing-Tii, and left his home in order to join the monastic order of the god of war, Cardolan. He was a deeply flawed, internally conflicted character who I loved playing for his versatile skills and ability to beat people over the head with a staff haha

My first character was in second edition, a dwarf fighter. Was a fairly epic adventure turned into a massive war between our group of characters and followers when we rose to high level and those of the local lord as he was not happy with us for not paying our taxes....

My first ever character was in DnD 3rd edition, a human wizard that I started playing from when he was a level 1 teenaged wizard to a level 30+ old geezer Archmage at the conclusion of a huge campaign spanning three years (we played every weeks, with plenty of down time in between). It was good to see how his characterization evolved from an awkward & shy young man to a wizened Archmage. When we retired our characters, he finally got married with his love interest, who is a druid PC played by a close friend. Just to make a sweet ending out of everything they'd been through, they get to spend their entire lives in the Field of Elysium as hermits.

My first character was a 4e eladrin rogue named Paelias Swift. Homebrew campaign, where we came across a town where they demanded that we drop our weapons. The other rogue, a half elf, made a dagger of his invisible. I hid a dagger of mine up my ass. Blade first. The dm decided that they strip searched us inside. I rolled abysmally to hide it. I then tried to bluff and say that the dagger wasn't mine. Rolled a 1. Combat ensued, and somehow I survived. A little while later, and without my help, the town guard was dead. I did jump off a rooftop to kick the captain, but did more damage to myself then to him. While looting the town, I teleported myself under a door into a vault. I had no way to get out. Only played one session with him, but so far, he has a history of making horrible rolls at the worst of times. I also have a feeling that the hiding a dagger will continue to haunt me. Especially when I said that I wanted to find a ten foot pole...

My first character was Dain Tyrinson. Half-Elf Dragon Shaman.
He grew up outside of Neverwinter, and became a deckhand on a cargo ship. His ship was rescued from pirates by a copper dragon. Last I saw him, he and his group had just finnished rescuing a fort from a hoard of goblins and bugbears. For all I know, hes still wandering around the forests east of the sword coast. DM moved away. |

My first character was a 3.5 Drow rogue based off of Drizzt...but, at the time, 8th grade, it seemed totally badass and only a trifle bit cliche haha.
I recall during one adventure in the campaign our party was beset on by a dragon. We were in a desert with essentially no where to run. Thankfully, the beast turned a sizable portion of desert floor into glass, and broke its neck crashing into it while attempting to swoop down on the fighter in the group.

My first character was a dwarf cleric that fell into the unfortunate newbie trap as being the dedicated healer, and took feats / domains in Healing... Oops. I was blamed when we wiped against a Pit Fiend.

To be brutally honest I think I was a halforc rogue which was poorly misguided on all aspects on the game... By the end of the campaign I was good for nothing other than being laughed at by the party and failing almost every roll. I have to admit it was fun though... Oh man if I could go back I would have made him a halforc bard who liked to sing and dance.

My 1st character was a fighter based on the old basic D&D red box system, he died pretty much on his first adventure after realising belatedly that charging a bunch of kobolds armed with bows and arrows probably wasn't the best idea.....

My first character was a mage who was unfortunately given a Wand of Wonder in my first adventure session... I was kicked out of that group in the 3rd adventure session for excessive use of said wand. "Only tool a hammer" and all that. My second character was a dwarf fighter with a lip on him. Even his Frostbrand sword couldn't save him from that band of goblins we ran into. Who knew goblins were so sensitive about their skin? Or their mothers? His party mates wouldn't pay to have him resurrected, strangely enough...
