It is not too late to un-withdraw. I'll update the sheet.

Um... Who measures miles in kilometers? What even is a kilometer? Do your speed signs not use mph?

LOL I guess he isn't from the US. We're the only ones that uses mph, inches, and F (instead of C)

Seekr is right; I'm from the Netherlands, not the US. The Imperial system is pretty much only used in the US and the UK, and I believe the UK actually uses both Imperial and metric .

(don't worry though, I have no trouble measuring my character's movement in 5' squares )

Yeah we use both, which is ridiculous

I hadn't even known miles were part of the imperial system. I just assumed miles were universal

I've used both mph and kph, and I'm just more used to kph. I can just visualise it better? If that makes any sense

Yep, we just can't quite let go of Imperial! Vehicles travel in MPH, but you would go for a 5k run. Beer and milk in pints, all else in litres. When following a recipe it's basically a toss up whether you'll have to measure in ounces or grams. Endless fun! But I guess we're used to it.

Workout equipment is pretty heavily weighted towards imperial too. Rower, most treadmills, assault bikes, and even traveling exercise programming (Farmer's Carries, etc) are most often done in meters. All the best kettlebells are in kilograms. Plates are split. Dumbbells are really the only thing that are predominantly in lbs. Imperial system just makes more sense in most situations because it's a base 10 system, and I say that as an American.

My brother-in-law is Dutch and we were outside of Amsterdam for the wedding earlier this year. Really really beautiful. Big fan of Haarlem. Got the best espresso drinks I've ever had there, and that's coming from someone who's married to a coffee snob aficionado.

Last Call and Final Decisions

As we've shifted mostly into non-game related talk and everyone with a completed app has given me input on who they would like to play with, I feel comfortable giving a last call for new apps.

I'll be making final decisions tomorrow morning. Originally I said end of day, but I want to give all the players a little extra time to chat, ask questions, and get ready ahead of the first game post this weekend.

If you've got issue with that, let me know. Otherwise, forever hold your peace.
