It's a bit tabletop orientated but besides that it is something that will make you think...
I can strongly recommend you to read is as well...

Foundational Principles and Player Information

--- copied with permission of Savoylen ---

What is the Foundational Principle?

HAVE FUN!

But when people stay together for extended amounts of time, there are inevitably clashes of interests,
personality or someone just having a bad day. Under those situations remember the following:

* Focus on the situation, issue, or behavior, not on the person.
* If someone does something during a session you find personally offensive for whatever reason, be sure to address it.
Address the behavior and be clear about your expectations. Don’t "counter-attack" or make it "personal."

Maintain the self-confidence and self-esteem of others.
There are "bumps in the road" even with successful groups.
Remember that groups are most successful when individuals feel good about themselves.

Maintain constructive relationships.
Enough said.

Take initiative to make things better.
If you have a problem, issue or concern – bring it up. But also come with a solution.
Take the extra step and effort to make the experience better for you and others!

Lead by example.
The best way to change someone else’s behavior is model what you would like to see.
I know this is explaining the obvious and may sound very "hokey" to others,
but I think if we can agree on holding the Foundation Principle as our ground-rule
for how we will relate to each other as the "people" behind the session,
that will make our time together that much more enjoyable.

DawnforgedCast's 'Be a Better Player'

DawnforgedCast made an awesome video about 'being a better player', and even though it is meant for tabletop I think it will change how we write our combat posts.
The basics is to elaborate a combat post with some adjustments to repeat what the others posted and expand that piece with your own actions.

Have a look at it, 'Be a Better Gamer'

Ranged attack/shooting into melee

Quote:
Player Handbook

Surprisingly, no. There is no such rule. although there is a rule titled "Ranged attacks in close combat", this is about a shooter that is involved in close combat and still wants to shoot. There is no direct penalty for shooting into an other close combat.
The only rule applicable is Cover (PHB Page 196). Depending on who is where, your opponent might be covered by other enemies or friends. So if your friend is between you and your opponent, cover comes into play. But there seems to be no difference between both of them locked in combat or just standing in a straight line from you 20 feet behind each other unmoving.
Maybe there will be such a rule in later books, right now there is only the PHB.
--------------------------
Dungeon Masters Guide

Now that there are "later books" available, there actually is an optional rule in the dungeon masters guide called: Hitting cover (DMG, p. 272). It comes down to this: if you miss the target due to cover that you would have hit without cover and you beat the cover's armour class with that roll, you hit the cover instead.
I am going to house-rule that shooting into melee just gives a +2 to your target's AC.

Flanking in 5E

Flanking rules
  • Flanking on Squares. When a creature and at least one of its allies are adjacent to an enemy and on opposite sides or corners of the enemy's space, they flank that enemy, and each of them has advantage on melee attack rolls against that enemy.
  • When in doubt about whether two creatures flank an enemy on a grid, trace an imaginary line between the centers of the creatures' spaces. If the line passes through opposite sides or corners of the enemy's space, the enemy is flanked.
  • Flanking on Hexes. When a creature and at least one of its allies are adjacent to an enemy and on opposite sides of the enemy's space, they flank that enemy, and each of them has advantage on attack rolls against that enemy. On hexes, count around the enemy from one creature to its ally. Against a Medium or smaller creature, the allies flank if there are 2 hexes between them. Against a Large creature, the allies flank if there are 4 hexes between them. Against a Huge creature, they must have 5 hexes between them. Against a Gargantuan creature, they must have at least 6 hexes between them.

DM's Handbook p.251

Help-action
  • Alternatively, you can aid a friendly creature in attacking a creature within 5 feet of you. You feint, distract the target, or in some other way team up to make your ally’s attack more effective. If your ally attacks the target before your next turn, the first attack roll is made with advantage.

Player's Handbook p.192

When ADVANTAGE?
The following things grant advantage to an attack roll:
  • Hidden attacker
  • Attacker being helped/Help-action
  • Paralyzed target
  • Prone target (melee attacks only)
  • Restrained target
  • Stunned target
  • Unconscious target
  • Frightened

Uploading images

I always use Photobucket or Imgr to get my images uploaded to the world wide web, and you can edit it on that site. After saving the image, you can check the 'share this picture part' and copy the 'direct link'.

Best tip evurrrrr; if you see something cool in a post, quote the post and see what codes they used.
Copy those codes and use them, and you have awesome impressive stuff too

To resize a picture I use http://www.picresize.com,
easy and simple, and you can download the picture to your laptop/computer/device.
