If it wasn't obvious from the post I made in game the damage doesn't apply unless it hits, which it didn't. |

Sorry about that, totally skipped my mind to add it to the roster post. Just gotta finalize gear purchases and I should be done.

Is the ogre's initative and attack considered part of Round 2, with round 1 being our reactions to the ogre killing the archer?

I admit to having looked at the Ogre's stats, something I usually try to be better about. But if I remember correctly, I'm pretty sure my ranged touch attack of 10 should hit against its touch AC (8, I think?).

@IW2RP:
Never mind about that Acid Dart hitting. Now that I see the battle grid, the ogre was way too far away for that spell to reach him, even if we take the Dart to have been thrown after the ogre moves towards us. Let's chalk it up to the ignorance of an apprentice new to battle and move on. And I'll second Zevonian's question about round order. Here are the initiatives and the marker colors as best I can guess them from the battle grid. Is the Ogre's action that you've just described (throw javelin, move toward party) supposed to take place in the first round of combat (which we've written), or the second round of combat (which we're writing now)? I'll wait on your response to write up my next action. (1) If the action took place in the first round, then we need to hear from the Zevonian for Jamuss's action and you for the Ogre's action before writing what comes next. I'm guessing that's what you mean, since: (2) If, on the other hand, you intended the action to take place in the second round, then you would be moving the Ogre out of order (since Jamuss and Nicholas act before the Ogre in the second round) and you and Alex would have to rewrite your posts. Am I on the right track here? This is my first PbP combat, and I'm all kinds of confused about how to manage round order in this asynchronous medium.

@jm935: Don't you mean this is your first pbp combat in a group based game?
To all: I was waiting on a color guide for the battle grid and response to my ooc question, and a description of any attacks that landed previously, before I posted any further attacks. |

@zevonian. Yes, of course. My apologies, o honored NPSG DM.
![]() I take Jamuss to be the green marker on the basis of his 5-ft. step (from your previous combat post). Between Jamuss's step and Nicholas's movement toward the ogre, I take the dark blue-ish spaces on the battle grid to mark movement.

@jm935: I think you're right on your color coordination. I'll go ahead and post this afternoon while I have a chance. I did have Jamuss warn people not to stand right next to him in combat, didn't I?
Edited to add: IC post made. Critical threat rolled, and quite possibly confirmed. Last edited by zevonian; Oct 23rd, 2012 at 04:18 PM. |

33 damage in one go? Yikes. Glad we brought Jamuss along!

Hey now, I think he's got a movement rate faster than any of you.
It's not so much that you all are bringing him along, it's more like he's having to slow his natural pace so you all can keep up with him. haha |

When he killed Aldwyn it was a surprise round, one that was more for a little flair in removing him. His move was part of the first round of attacks, but he didn't accomplish much before Jamuss ended him... Wow. I might have to turn up the heat.
Sorry for the confusion, I've been rushing a lot lately. I'll try to be more clear in the future. If I missed any questions that still remain now that combat has ended please don't be afraid to ask them again. |

Blimey, that was one solid hit, Khryssa will become just a bystander looking pretty I fear.

That was a pretty amazing hit. Killing an ogre with one swing at level 1... That's the kindof thing fairy tales are made of.
