I am open either way with level 1 or level 11; with a preference for lvl 11.

Cool. I only felt it right to make the offer after designing the Herald (the dude with the sword in the teaser). I'm a seasoned character builder and it took a good while.

One last note can we add in "Sleight of hand" is always a class skill for Arthrops.

Okay, I have a rough draft for the Arthrops written up, and I want to flesh it out a tiny bit. You mentioned weapon familiarity, but I wanted to know what types of weapons you were thinking of as being racial. I'll make final decisions from that.

I threw weapon familiarity since it is a common trait. Not needed. However, a reach weapon or maybe an odd one handed weapon like Rhoka or sawtooth sabra. Almost done with both the lvl 1/11 Gestalt character.

Got it. I should have some time in a few hours, and I'll get it finished and polished.
I'll make a Google Document, public it, and throw a link to it in the Information Hub just like the rest of the races once it's done.

Arthrops are in the Information Hub. I will put together their nation based on the information you've given if you wish.
Likewise with the deity. If you have a preferred alignment for the deity, let me know.

Looks good. Let me know if you want any help.
I am seeing the Arthrops society as very structured; so lawful. Good, Neutral or Evil to me is subjective so any can work. How do you want to handle there relationship with the other swamp race the Gripplis? Last edited by Kshnik; Jul 27th, 2014 at 03:27 PM. |

I was thinking rivalry, but not outright hatred. Maybe some scuffles. I'll pore over my Grippli thoughts before I write it up to make sure there's SOME conflict.
If you want to do it, though, write me up a proposal. Most proposals I receive get minor tweaks and are then published to the forum.

As you intend to use the race yourself, take your time. I rush you not. If the race is ancient, it needs a deity. I'll design that based on your input. They don't need to be religious now, they just need a creator. It's not a problem yet, as the rest of the pantheon is complete, with no REQUIRED holes to fill.

Will do, here is my first incomplete rough draft:
Arthops are small insect-like humanoids native to the swamplands in areas that contain many trees; the taller the better. Arthops clans are broken up into guilds, containing multiple families that live a nomadic life style within a specific area of land; the center containing their agriculture, their government body, and young. Arthops are sexually dimorphic. The females are the largest in size but much smaller in population. Physical Description: Arthops are bipedal insect-like humanoids with four arms; two capable of wielding weapons and the other two for manipulating objects. Arthops have skeletons like other humanoids and their skin has a caprapace look, especially on their shoulders and joints, with multiple hair-like structures covering it. They have Mandibles that cover their mouths and multiple tiny compound eyes that provide 360 vision but limited range. Society: Every family belongs to a guild; multiple families per guild. Each guild sends a representative to the council. The council, called the Circle of Crones, is the govern body for the Arthops. Females fall into three classes; the Crones, Mothers and Maidens. Crones are older Arthops mothers who are no long able to produce but have assume the leadership position. Mothers are the females, limited to three per family, who are fertile and producing young. Maidens, the largest populations of females, are not fertile and protect families and guilds. Males fall into two classes; the Gentry and the Plebs. Gentry are the males, as they aged, were found/seen to have unique abilities, physical or mental, and are selected as breeders. Gentries are exchanged with other families for their breeders. The Plebs, make up the largest population, are the main workers for the Arthops. Last edited by Kshnik; Jul 27th, 2014 at 04:41 PM. |

Nations are being churned out today. I PROBABLY won't finish tonight, though. If you are interested in how a certain race's home develops, either submit suggestions, taking into account the basics of the race's patron deity. Government type should align to some degree with the deity's alignment.
If you just want to see that nation faster, let me know. I'm doing them in order at this point.
