The Red Chicken - basic but I like the image. Also, the roof of the establishment is red.
The Drunken Owlbear - Sign is an owlbear, sloshed, on the ground with one paw in the air holding a semi-spilling glass beer mug.

'The Harper's Lament'
An enchanted harp plays a sorrowful tune to a mostly empty inn. A distinct lack of cheer and life pervades the place. A favorite for recent funeral goers |

My favorite fictional pub is The bucket of blood from the Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds version of "Stagger Lee". (NSFW video, language)

I wish I could take credit, but this is taken from a real place in, of all places, Kankakee, Illinois. I think they've closed (its been 20 years) but it's a classic.
A wife and husband team, Ella and Sam, named it after themselves. In reverse order. ![]() Their specialty was, of course, chicken. ![]() It was my go-to as a DM, generally when trouble was brewing.

My players kept encountering The Broken Drum in all campaigns, almost every session. My explanation was that it's a multiversal chain
![]() Entirely original, I know ![]() "We arrive at the village and search for the Broken Drum". "It's such a hole they haven't had one yet". And then they knew they're in Middle, Nowhere ![]() Last edited by AsenRG; May 22nd, 2020 at 03:11 AM. |

Oh, and I just remembered using the Donjons & Dragons hostel & bar. It was actually a bordello focused on the local military garrison, and Dragons was referring to these guys instead of mythological creatures.
And you either already know, or wouldn't want to know what the dungeons in the title were referring to ![]() The owner was an elder French lady who had persuaded the local commander that her establishment would be good for the morale of the troops, if anyone cares ![]() |

The Half-Orc N Hussy
A Bar and Brothel in the Red Light District, just through Harlots Gate from the Wharf District. Every bit as seedy and nasty as you can imagine. Knife fights are common, the drinks are cheap, the clientele are mix of humanoids, from the nearby ghettos, humans that work in the districts tanneries and stink from working hides all day, Dwarves that work as smiths in dry docks and a few gnomes that operate the Jib Winches(cranes) for unloading ships. Anything is for sale for a price. Go, have fun, see the darkside of the city, but never, never go alone. |

I have always been partial to
Dewdrop Inn But other than that... Either add two animals/monsters together, or a color and an animal/monster Dragon and Rhino Rooster and Zombie Black Orc White Basilisk
