Rolo laughed, “You are correct Sir, the beast is indeed following that.” Rolo reached out to take the parchment saying “That…is our ticket to destroying the beast, and our ticket to our obligatory rescue of Tradepoint!” He smiled and laughed aloud as he turned the small boat back to shore and rowed.
He if he can he will take the parchment from Jarek and splay it out for them to look at after tieing the boat off to the fishing pier. He asks, “Mister Jarek, do you understand goblin scrawl?” He pulls out a map of the port, and holds it next to the parchment.

Jarek eagerly handed over the parchment not wanting to be responsible for that thing following it. Jarek was also glad to be heading back to sure. His preference was land over sea. Once ashore curiosity got the better of Jarek as he slide closer as Rolo pulled out the map. Jarek reviewed the map for a score or so breaths and answered Goblin, no sir, I do not. .

“Then it’d be a good thing indeed that I do." Rolo smiled to Jarek. He studied the parchment, “Mr. Jarek, would you please take the oars and head back into the harbor. I believe we are about to reach this treasure of ours, and as seeing you would be the only crew around to lay claim to a share, yours will truly be remarkable.” Rolo motioned for the harbor.
Making entry into the harbor was easily completed. Though the season of storms raged on, the torrential waves were not violent enough to cause a problem for Jarek. As the two made shore Rolo leapt from the boat and ushered Jarek along. “Our prize is here.” he pointed to the position on the map, indicating a location that was not marked. “See this, here would be the Beacon Light, which is now burning." He pointed to another location across from the Beacon Light. “This is a property called Ol’Bean Plantation. But this,” he pointed to the third location, “I don’t know this, and thats where our treasure is.”

Jarek nods his head in approval as he considers fate again. I in a raid on a village and taken slave. Was a slave on a pirate ship and gain my freedom; limited as it was. I removed myself from the pirate ship at first opportunity and saved a child. Now I am with a captain on my way to supposedly gain treasure... Fate is strange and I am sure has a few more surprises left for today.
Jarek glances at the map and notes the 3rd location in his head in relation to the Beacon Light. |

Seeing what he took as Jarek’s affirmation, Rolo leads on across the shoreline and into the unkempt grounds outside the port-town. The rains of the storm had once again begun their relentless pummeling of the earth, refilling any water that had drained from the puddles of muddy water. He looks at the saturated parchment and back up the woods around, as if confused.

Jarek follows Rolo, his hand resting on the handle of his sword, across the shoreline and outside of the town. As Rolo stops to check the map to get his bearings Jarek turns his head from left to right as he

Captain Rolo went directly into a patch of the forest indicated on the map. He searched around in the wind and the rain, but had trouble sighting the exact locations indicated on the rough map. He peered back to Jarek, as if to say ‘what am I not seeing’.
To Jarek’s eyes the size of the prize jumped out at the orc. The first aspect that leapt out at Jarek was three trees in their particular method of growth. They grew in equally distributed locations from one another, and the center-most stood several paces higher than the other two. Their branches grew at strange perpendicular angles. The next thing Jarek noticed lay in the formation of the land around. He identified the anatomy of the very vessels that he had seen for the last few months of his existence. A bow and a main deck and stern, it didn’t take the orc long to see the peculiar shape of a dead stump and how it shaped a wheel-less helm. Captain Rolo turned around to face Jarek and asked, “Hello?”

Jarek turned his head slowly to as his eyes made contact with the captains. His eye contact was very brief, for about half a breath, before Jarek tilts his head towards the location of the three trees. Jarek pauses for a few more breaths allowing Rolo to gather in the scene, slides up next to the man, raises his hand to point and quietly states The three trees there and land immediately around them appear to form the shape of a vessel. There you can see appears to me to be the bow of a ship… over there the stern… that right there is the main deck. .. that stump, the helm.
Jarek again goes quiet for a few more breaths before speaking again I believe we are at our destination. Last edited by Kshnik; Apr 12th, 2013 at 12:33 PM. |

Captain Rolo takes a few strides and jumps up to the location where the wheel-less helm sits that Jarek identified. He looks down the length of the earthen formation and smiles broadly. “Yes, yes, you’ve got it mate. Mr. Jarek, I believe you’ve found it. This’d be Ol’Bean’s skyship! He buried the thing right under our damned noses! Um, know we just need it to work.” He looks over to Jarek. “Any ideas about that, mate?”
The rains intensity had returned to its former viciousness and lightning streaked across the turbulent clouds above. As the rolling thunder filled the air, a very similar and horrible moan uttered from the waterfront location of the town. The moan rose to a roar as the golem climbed from its watery obstacle.

As the known sound rolls towards them Jarek looks at Rolo Is the parchment still needed or can it be returned to its... protector. The last word more of a question on the relationship between it and the map.

Rolo smiled, “I recall the beast will be indeed reduced to rubble once this beautiful artifact is set in motion. I, er, we only need find way for this gem to catch the wind?”

Jarek look at the captain thought for a moment and stated with a straight face Well any good ship captain would have a parrot of sort with them at all times. This parrot would be able to fly off with the parchment and at a distance let it go thus leading the beast away. Jarek look around a bit I dont see a parrot. What does this say about your skill as a captain?
