That does help. Doesn't really match what's in the book which is SUPER FUZZY AND UNCLEAR and not very well written or explained..not even a rough map or floor plan).
Move the ship's stores up a level, put a smaller storage closet next to it and that's where you're currently standing. Put the brig up a level and the galley down a level, put them next to each other, and that's the other end of the level you're currently standing on.

Am I the only one kind of creeped out by the 'Furry Pirates' thing? No? OK, never mind then.
Also: Holy fish paste that's a large scorpion. I do hope the encounter is balanced towards expecting only half the group to fight it...

Or that the DM is competent enough to do so himself

That was implied, I swear >.>
Honestly though, I'll get a post up tomorrow. Trying to let my brain relax after the gauntlet it just went through. That math exam was HARD!

Looks like Al's half-killed it already with those two bombs! I think I may need to take Improved Initiative soon.

On another note: What are you bombs made of? Gunpowder, or a chemical reaction? I've got an alchemist in another (probably dead ) game here on DnDOG, that refers to her bombs as 'reddust'. What that is exactly, no one else in the group knows...and really neither do I. But it's kind of her thing .

I'd think it'd be more likely to be a chemical reaction, since gunpowder would need heat to, well, combust, which would be hard to set up in a combat situation. A severe exothermic or otherwise volitile reaction, like when you mix an akali metal with water, is what I would imagine is the general premise.

It's not gunpowder, that's for sure. Al's not sure what they are, but they definitely go boom! I had in mind the paste being something like mercury fulminate, in some sort of gum matrix, and the admixture is a powdered catalyst. The paste will be diluted "just enough to be stable".
This idea also means I don't need to worry about an infinite supply of glass vials, which I would if (e.g.) the bombs were like molotov cocktails.

Erm, arguilios, you do realize that Gardrel's on the ship right? And I believe he's the only halfling in the group, NPC or not.

Jeeze Peter, thanks for wasting the use of luck I just gave you >.> Being able to roll a d20 twice doesn't help if you don't attack in the first place...

Sorry Aldra. It seemed silly to keep attacking, since Al's bombs are so much more effective.
I assume there's a limit per day of those right? |

Int + 1/2 alchemist level I believe, plus feats and class skills to get more.
At level 3ish he can get Smart bombs, and chose up to Int squares to be unaffected by the blast. Until then you have to be a super careful alchemist, especially at level 1 .
