Dakota Ta'lor
Disclaimer: I strongly suggest listening to Dakota's Song while reading this app. ![]() Age: 19 Race: Human Class: Gunslinger - Link for my own recordsMusket Master / Mysterious Stranger Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Song: Gin Wigmore - Black Sheep Personality: Everyone has their good conscience on one shoulder, and their bad conscience on the other. Dakota is that bad conscience, a bad influence. Dakota was that girl that your mom told you not to play with. Not evil, no definitely not, but she does take joy in making those that are good, a little less so. This goes two ways, though. The obvious way is getting others in trouble. She doesn't break many rules herself, but she might try to convince you that the farmer won't notice if you take a few vegetables. On the flip side of that, she'll be the first to give you [sometimes false] confidence in facing your fears. "Yeah, I think you can make that jump, it looks easy! Besides, if not, it's not that far of a fall." She, of course, has no way of knowing, but if you do succeed, you have her to thank. If you don't succeed, well, she'll find another way around the jump. Mature for her age, she likes to toy with the younger kids in the village. Not so much a bully, but she does like to play up their naivety. Background: It was a night straight out of the story books. Not those story books, not the one with the three bears, not the one with the long haired princess, and definitely not the one with a brother and sister with a pail of water. No, this was a dark and stormy night, and in that dark and stormy night, a clap of thunder that could be heard for miles, immediately followed by the eerie laugh of a newborn baby, and the dying scream of a mother. Born of two of the villages better hunters, Vicward and Marnys, Dakota was always a bit different. She had an aura about her, creepy some would call it. Evil the villages 'busybodies' called it. Nothing, her father called it. Her father raised her as best he could. He raised her as his son, bringing her into the hunters lodge to learn to hunt. She became quite skilled at it, favoring the long guns that the lodge used. Growing up in the lodge also had some 'negative' effects. She grew up with only male influences. Crass language, and even worse behavior. She'd heard stories the mens' conquests, hunting, and.. not. Stories of all the families in All'ken. Heard of the men that had mistresses in neighboring villages, of the women in the village with various lovers. It would be naive to say that Dakota learned more than her fair share while in her father's care. No, by 19, she knew exactly what it was to be a woman, not a wife, like the girls her age were learning to do, no, at 19, Dakota was most definitely a woman. Ironically, just as the housewives that Dakota pitied, she grew tired with her dull life in All'ken. She could wait for the younger boys to grow into men, or wait for the men to see her as something other than Vicward's daughter. No, neither of those would do. She had to leave, find some place else. Atleast, that's what she told herself. In reality, she was caught with Maff Artek's son in the Nesters' barn. She had to leave, voluntarily or not. Goals / Motivation: Dakota, quite honestly, has no motivation, has no goals. She's busy having fun with life, not thinking ahead, only living in the present. She wants to have fun, and she's run out of fun in All'ken. She's making up for not necessarily having a childhood growing up. Freud would say there's a cloud of sadness in her soul for living a life without a mother. She would say Freud is off his rocker.
