Thats a bit of a complicated question. For most of the western world, it kind of got squashed down during the Enlightenment, but some pieces and parts have been coming back into vogue during the last decade or so. In the East and the lesser developed world, it hung around and is still practiced in lots of areas. The SPEB has seen enough of it to take it for what it is, and uses a mix of magical, Eastern, and Western medical techniques in its Infirmary.

Anything can be determined or uncovered with the appropriate Knowledge check. Id suggest starting in Nature, but if you can convince me successfully why another one should work, then go for that too.
