Stats: 25 point buy or roll 4d6, keep 3, seven times and drop the roll of your choice
Hit Points: Full at 1st, 3/4 or roll (minimum half) after
Sources Allowed: All; I have most major Pathfinder material and what I don't have we can find on the SRD. We can discuss adjusting feats to work for the playtest classes. I am also open to homebrew/forumbrew fixes for the classes.

Backstory   Alistair was born in one of the city of Augustana's slums. His parents were (and still are) sailors in the Andoran Navy. He has a younger brother and sister. While he grew up poor, his family was a loving one, and the familial dwelling was constantly full of laughter. While still a child he loved to explore. Roaming in the sewers under the city one day he found a Djinni (or at least thats what the creature told him). It seemed amused by the bold human child, and taught him a magical trick - both revealing Alistair's latent magical powers, and setting him apart from other children in a single stroke. A few years later Alistair sought to find the Djinni again in the sewers, but was ambushed by some sort of aberrant creature. He would have certainly died if a mysterious figure had not leapt into the fray at the last moment (appearing from some other tunnel in the sewer), fighting off the creature and giving Alistair a chance to escape. While fleeing Alistair turned to see if he was being chased, and saw the figure taken down by the creature. While Alistair escaped, he knows that without the mysterious figure's sacrifice he would never have made it out of the sewer alive. Remembering his chance meeting with the Djinn as a child he vowed to become a powerful magic user, that he might do great deeds and make the mysterious figure's sacrifice worthwhile. Years later Alistair met a woman, Jade, who would forever change his life. He found her not only charming, intelligent, funny, engaging, and beautiful - but also special. There was something about Jade that moved him like nothing else in the world, and he has not wanted another woman since (though he finds, oddly enough, that women want him more - most likely due to his increased confidence). He is still with Jade to this day, though still unwed. He is currently saving for the money to not only buy her a ring, but a house (one not in the slums). Currently he lives in Almas, where he provides magical services to the Council on occasion. While he has stayed mostly out of trouble, on one occasion he learned a member of a local street gang was giving Jade trouble. In order to protect Jade he dug up humiliating stories and information on the gangster and publicly shamed him. He chose this route instead of violence to isolate the gangster from the rest of his gang. The end result was that the gangster was effectively shamed out of the city. While he knows that he needed to get the gangster away to protect Jade, he worries that the ends did not justify the means, as the gangster had been driven from his home. He would like to perhaps make amends one day, if he can. While Alistair is a smart and capable young man, his greatest drawback is passion for justice. To him, unfairness and injustice are intolerable. Whenever he witnesses them, he feels compelled to act or speak out. When he is personally wronged, he requires appeasement—or revenge if he doesn't receive it. This drawback has gotten him into hot water on several occasions.   Born poor in Augustana to two naval sailors. Has two younger siblings, a brother and sister. Met a Djinni while young, who taught him some magic. A few years later was saved from certain death by the sacrifice of a mysterious figure. Has met the love of his life, Jade, and is currently with her. Lives in Almas now, where he works for the council on occasion. He shamed a gangster out of town for Jade, and he is not proud of it and wishes to make amends. His greatest drawback is his passion for justice - he must always see it done, and requires appeasement when wronged.

Personality & Appearance   Alignment: Neutral Good Personality: Usually calm and easy-going, however if he has a will of iron and is not afraid to call out or confront what he feels is wrong. Motivations: Freedom, Justice Deity: No Deity Alistair is your typical Andoran in many ways. He abhors slavery and anything that tramples on the rights of the individual. He wants to be a positive force in the world, uplifting those he can. Unlike some Andorans Alistair also has a particular passion for justice, both as a concept and as a tangible fact. While he understands that not all laws are just, and some laws are meant to be broken, he strongly believes that just laws should and must be stringently enforced for the good of all. Seeing beings oppressed or an injustice occurring are two things (on a very short list of things) that will quickly and reliably bring Alistair to a white hot rage. Bettering the world as a whole is also very important to Alistair. He wants to leave a legacy behind him, where he is remembered for advancing demi-human society in some way. Be it through discovery, invention, or great deeds. While a noble goal, this somewhat conflicts with his calm personality. By nature he is calm, thoughtful, and deliberate. These traits are good, but also not conducive to achieving greatness. The struggle between the desire for peace and tranquility and the desire for immortality through achievement is ever present in Alistair. Alistair's love for Jade has also introduced a new facet into his personality - confidence, particularly around women. As he feels that he is set for life, he is not afraid to be himself around women, and via Jade, he knows what to say to make a woman happy. As Alistair puts great stock in betterment of the world through his own actions, he doesn't believe he should leave such things up to a deity. In his mind, the world hasn't improved because of any deity's action, but rather through the actions and sacrifices of mortals (as shown, in Alistair's mind, by the mysterious figure sacrificing himself for Alistair).   I spent some time searching for an appropriate image, but couldn't really find anything. This is as close as I found. He's a tall, blond mage. Not rail thin, but not sturdily built either. Not beautiful, but not plain.

Bumping charisma instead of dexterity + constitution.

Of course, now charisma is actually useful for arcanists so the stat array might actually be optimal.

I will probably adjust the charisma up and the dexterity/constitution down a bit.

Also, has anyone else looked at the Bloodrager? I am torn between Arcane and Abyssal and Celestial. They are all mechanically strong. Arcane fits my backstory best as there is no evidence of extra planar influence in Zlatan.

I've been reading that Aberrant is actually fairly strong. If you like the three you were picking up, I'd say Arcane or Celestial, personally.

For the traits: Do we need to pick one of the campaign ones?
For favored class bonuses: I didn't see anything about this: Can we choose between the racial favored class bonuses for our base class, or just go with the default one (+hp/+skill point)
For gold: Is there a price limit on something we can buy? (Ie. can we buy a 4500 item?)

If I were making the choice myself, I'd have to look seriously at Destined. Of the ones you've mentioned, Arcane has some pretty great abilities so I'd probably end up going that route.

I've got all the scouting and such covered. Hunter has some buff spells, too. From what I'm seeing, my character and his companion will be doing the flanking.

3rd level GP is 3k, so let's say nothing above 3k without me giving it the okay. Don't make me regret my generosity!



OH! I almost forgot the final randomization. Starting with whoever gets in first, pick another character and roll 1d100 to determine your relationship to that character. Then, the person the first person picked does the same until we're all done. Refer to the relationship with a fellow adventurer here. Work out the details with that player.

Also, regarding tratis: if you choose to take the drawback from your backstory, you may pick a trait from any source and now just those permitted per your background.
