Thanks a lot for divine grace! Problem with the other options is I lack lay on hands. It's replaced by the empyreal knight's 4th level ability. Should I just pick some vaguely divine-themed feat? I'm sure I can dig something out.

Isn't Othar the spark who thinks he's sane from girl genius? I've not read much of him, so I dunno why he makes you think of him.

Ronars, I have a pretty good idea of how he's likely to to treat your guy. I dunno if they'd know each other yet or not, but he's certainly not about to judge anybody for looking scary, and of course you wouldn't detect as evil.
Reon was raised by his human mother and all she'll tell him about his father is "It turns out being an aasimar doesn't make you a nice guy. You have to work at it like everyone else." Provided Morgard's not overly dickish to him, I imagine he'd respect him for choosing to live decently and support him as much or as little as he likes if people give him trouble.

Given the number of homicidal impulses Othar inspires in other members of the cast, I don't think he's a good role model for Caput's "easy-going, won't cause problems" paladin. ^_^'

As to lay on hands...oops. I'd only read the first few levels of Empyreal Knight to see what I was trying to fix. Now...hrm...haha, I could give you the zone-of-truth variant channeling...no, bound to cause trouble...deflection aura? honor bound?...hm...let me think on it.

Still, I think it might be a fun interplay between a jagerkin-like tiefling, and an othar-like aasimar. Heck, just the two races alone should make an odd couple.

Malleus, how about throwing me Eldritch Heritage (Celestial) as a bonus feat at 3rd level? That seems to fit the bill. I doubt I'll take skill focus though, so if you'd rather I meet that prerequisite something else might be better.

Ahaha, and here I was looking through all the cleric domains and 3rd level paladin substitutions.

Yes, Eldritch Heritage (Celestial) will do nicely - and since you're going Empyreal Knight, I'll let you choose either the power or the arcana. Anywhere it says 'sorcerer level,' of course just replace it with 'paladin.'

Also, it's a shame I've already worked out Sayuri's DM-boon trait...Spunky Assistant sounds like such a good one!

You now have me working out the Filthy Assistant trait. I'm guessing nobody here's been exposed to Transmetropolitan, but I'm thinking it would grant Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Bowl Disruptor), +2 to fort saves against being sickened by unwelcome nudity and a serious cigarette addiction.

Is it established how well we know each other at the start? Judging by the traits Reon and Skieyl have, they'd be childhood friends, but what of the rest? It'd be good to sort that out before I write up what little he's done so far.

Oh, you can sort that out amongst yourselves - I know Mihai (Fool) and Sayuri (Ehlana) know one another pretty well, and Sayuri lives in the social center of Sandpoint - which is a pretty small town. Not sure how long Morgard (Ronars) has been on Sandru's circuit - could be years - in which case, you all know each other, and no need for introductions and suchlike. Truth to tell, I may skip the tavern-intro scene anyhow and have you guys start the game already heading into the marsh.

As for the Foster Child trait, I'll be writing you more like Koya's wards than anything else. My Koya is a bit of a cackly, curmudgeonly old lady - not usually mean, but never what you'd call sugar-coated. She'd look after any misfit without a place to stay, but it's a tough-love sort of schooling. She's taken the odd ward probably more than once over the last thirty or forty years, so feel free to make an age gap there with Frag.

Ah, Reon isn't actually a ward, he's gonna have the Friend of the Family trait, so he'll have been close to Koya and Skieyl his whole life but been raised by his own mother. It also means he made a promise to old niska that he'll accompany koya if she goes travelling, which I thought fit well with the oath of loyalty business.

Morgard might not have been on Sandru's circuit for years, but for a year or so, at least. More than enough time to get on his nerves just enough to consider him a grudging rival.

Incidentally, I've compiled substantial sections of the TWF and Shield feat trees, mostly cause it's just really annoying to run a sword-and-board hero with two dozen prerequisite feats. I'd like to give you guys some room to get crazy. For anyone who has already seen them, I did just revise a bit - the green bit.

It sounds like we should all at least know each other in the "Oh, that's the cranky tiefling that works for Sandru." or "Yep, there goes Koya's crazy ward, chasing chickens again." sense. Even if we haven't exchanged more than a few words with each other personally, in a small town, everyone tends to know everyone else's business.
