Hmm, I thought you got the amount of non weapon proficiencies equal to the number of bonus languages you have. Not if you didn't take a language.
I'll read over the rules just to be sure. I played 1rst edition, 2nd edition, 3rd and 3.5. I only played 4th once and hated it I thought it was to much like WOW or something. I just havn't played second edition in about 8 years so I am rusty on some of the rules.

i rechecked my character to make sure i liked what i had and i noticed that i took 3 out of class non weapons to prep for duel classing to a mage. 2 r/w and spellcraft that all cost a extra slot to take. that's 3 kind of wasted slots for background purposes now there is dedication to character building.
