House Rules
HOUSE RULES
XPAs far as XP, I prefer to split evenly, but if you slack off, if you don't pull your share, if you don't do what you're capable of doing. You will get reduced to potentially no share of the XP. If you do everything you can & just weren't effective, no penalty. You tried. But if you kick back & let your party handle it. You kick back & let your party get the XP.

HPI'm lazy, max HP. But know up front, ranking opponents will also have max HP

CritsCrit ruling with me.
Your natural crit range is a guaranteed hit no matter if you got their ac or not. If your crit hits their ac You roll to confirm. If you don't hit the ac the second time, it's just a hit. If you hit ac without another crit, you get crit damage. If you roll another crit & hit their ac You roll for an instant kill. Instant kill you just have to hit their ac. A Nat 20 is a crit regardless of hitting ac. There improved critical feat doesn't apply to confirmations, only the first roll.
Example. Crit range 18-20. Improved critical feat makes this 15-20. Roll a 17 & hit ac. Roll to confirm. Roll another 17 & you confirm, but since its not in the original crit range, there's no chance for an instant kill.
Same crit range. You roll a 20, you got a +9. Their ac is 30. Because you rolled Nat 20, you still roll to confirm crit & another 20 you can try for instant kill.
If what i said isn't clear, please feel free to ask me. I don't ever want to be misunderstood

After a player asked me about it. I think it makes sense that when you get an AOp, you can choose to take a single 5' step INSTEAD of attacking. This still counts as your AOp till your next turn & can only do this if you did not take a 5' step during your last turn

PersonalSomething I do that's off from the books, but not exactly wrong. I'll look at how most things would work in real life, not so much by the rules. Because the rules can't account for everything. If you can think of something that would do what you wanted in real life, but isn't included in the rulings of DnD, talk to me. Sometimes you can just do it, sometimes you'll need one or more skill checks, other times it may not be allowed. But an easy example is a spellcaster casting lightning bolt on the roof of a house. By the book, he did nothing. In reality, unless he's a weak spellcaster, he at least damaged that roof & possibly caused it to cave in. I reward thinking outside the box

Something I am gonna steal from 5th edition. Any Spellcaster that can get up to 9th level spells (i.e. Wizard, Ceric, Sorcerer, Druid, possibly others) does not run out of 0 level/cantrip/Orison spells. Those that have to prepare them, still do, but you have unlimited use of those level spells you have prepared.

Metagaming
Definition
Definition
Metagaming is any strategy, action or method used in a game which transcends a prescribed ruleset, uses external factors to affect the game, or goes beyond the supposed limits or environment set by the game. Another definition refers to the game universe outside of the game itself.
Simple version is using information the player knows but the character doesn't. The issue has been brought up, I have seen multiple examples of this in game already. Penalties will NOT be imposed for happenings prior to this post, but WILL be imposed from here on out.
Penalties#PenaltyTotal
Anyone caught metagaming will be deducted a cumulative 1,000 xp penalty multiplied by the number of occurrences.11,0001,000
