"Damn," Sigve lets out after hearing the priests words. "The woodcutter was our best lead."

Running his hands through his thinning hair, the Northman paused and thought for a while before speaking his mind. "Well, let us inform the others and then move to search around Thomas' dwelling. There must be some spoor that William can track."

Arriving at Artimus' room, the hunters and priest enter after knocking and ask the youth if he has any skill or knowledge that he believes can be used to track or identify their quarry. After listening to the youngster (and getting something to break their night fast) the party heads to the abode of the deceased woodcutter.

Shaking his head in frustration at the death of not only the woodcutter but also their best lead, Magnus follows Sigve into Artimus' room. It seems to me that this beast might have some inside help. Why else would it kill the woodcutter so soon after we talk to him?
