"In terms of silver weapons, Peredhil... If I find myself needing to wield a weapon in combat the situation is probably beyond saving. I do have a not insignificant amount of silver dust for a protection from evil spell - possibly some of that could be repurposed to plate weapons if necessary. " |

As the meeting was about to begin, Navalia gave Phourkyn a raised eye brow and questionable glance, she hadn't spoken outside of introductions. Sure, blame the drow for interrupting she thought initially, but the dark maiden wouldn't have looked kindly to a defensive comment made in what many would view as a slight mistake of identity.
As she studied the map "First, what is the terrain surrounding the house? Do we know the entry point to this house? and finally, what does this symbol represent?" as she points to a marking on the top right section of the map. She looks at the group that will be accompanying her "I will need to change into my combat gear before leaving, my morning duties have been accomplished." The priestess leaned towards Peredhil, "We have great arcane support, but little in front line. It has been a while since we fought together, do you remember the Battledale?" of course Peredhil remembered, each carried an extra sword as the priestess tossed them into a dancing quartette of blades. Sometimes Peredhil even joked that it looked like a blindman's barbershop.

Peredhil was about to ask about the land, being a pathfinder, but Navalia asked first and he listened carefully.
He smiles with a nod to the lovely drowess. "Yes, with lycanthropes, that might be a good thing. And yes, how can I forget? I still carry the same two swords. It was always nice watching them stunned once you were seen, made fighting easier."

Raina just sits and listens for awhile. After Serah spoke, Raina shakes her head to herself, then speaks. "Even a powerful caster must have something just in case. Only takes once..."

This time it was Shattercloak who spoke up after there was a pause in the conversation. For one thing it was clear the Archmages had respect for each of you by the way each of your words and comments were heard and given weight. It is far from those meetings in years past with young green adventurers, and inexperience fighters, rogues, priests, and mages. Those meetings were often heated and made little sense now looking back, though at the time they seemed so, so important.
![]() ![]() ![]() Thuldoum sits down with a nod. Shattercloak smiles and pets her ferret, while Phourkyn puffs more quickly on his pipe.

"I too am curious about that strange mark on the map, but I assume we will learn what it means when we get there."
Mindwalker makes a quick mental inventory of all the things he need to grab on his way out. I hope I manage to get everything in time... Last edited by Ericg1s; Jun 3rd, 2015 at 09:04 AM. |

Muzzleknot catches Phourkyn's gaze, and gestures to one of the scrolls before the Archmage. "Phourkyn, about my earlier inquiry, is that list of magical items somehow relevant to us? Are they items you can give us for this expedition? Are they items we may expect to find? Are they items possibly in the possession of our enemies, perhaps taken from the Gnomes who died acquiring the map?
Also, do you have any Wands of Magic Detection you may give us? Doubtless there are several among us, including myself, who know and can cast the Detect Magic spell. But given the nature of our task, there is no telling how many times we might need to cast the spell. It would be beneficial not to have to devote a substantial number of first level valences to that one incantation."

"I might be able to use my own magic to find the trove, when we get closer. We need to head out, quickly."

Serah nods and stands, brushing down her robe.
"I believe you misunderstood me, Raina; I have weapons - although none of them are particularly deadly - I am simply not particularly talented in the use of them." Reaching into one of the pouches at her belt, she pulls out a well-tooled leather bandolier, numerous pockets and loops holding carefully sheathed knives and darts. "I haven't needed to use these in a very long time, and I don't believe any of them are silver. We should go see if we can catch Blackturret - we can pay our respects to the gnomes and request some Belladonna, as well as the name of a blacksmith who can silver-plate a knife or two for the less martial among us." With a huff, Serah slings the bandolier over her shoulder, settling it across her body. "We'll probably need at least an hour or two to ensure that everyone is prepared - I believe our drow companion brought a cart, and while dragons are large, I doubt that this Favnir would consent to carrying a cart any distance. He might take the horse, but more likely in his belly than not. Shall we meet back here... an hour before noon? That way we should be able to reach Radnav's home in the evening and begin our exploration early tomorrow morning." "Also of note... I have a scroll of Detect Magic I scribed some months ago, so while we may each need to dedicate a portion of our powers to memorising it, if we find ourselves without, we will have at least one additional use of the spell. Phourkyn, when we return, I would love to learn how you crafted Shattercloak's 'Mage Mover' - my knees are too old to be climbing up and down stairs all day. Thuldoum, I hope there are no hard feelings about last night, and that your apprentice managed to remember my name long enough to inform you I had become otherwise engaged... I may have been a bit harsh on the lad..." She shrugs. "Shattercloak, I hope to have a chance to... study... your project further - maybe with warmed berries and cream." Finally she turns to Rilitar, a wicked glitter in her eyes as she nods to the gorgeous elf. "I may have to see if I can manage to stay a few weeks in Thentia..." |

Navalia scooted her seat back and gave a curtsy to the arch-mages "I will return once I've changed. I will be waiting at the front for everyone." the drowess then left the meeting area with a deliberate pace back to the temple.
Temple: The dark maiden returned to her room and carefully folded her gown back into a sack. Navalia put on a tunic and slacks to prevent chaffing from the armor, silently thinking This mission was going to be tough, especially with so many arcanists in the group. She opened the closet door revealing her drow designed scale armor and began dressing.

Peredhil nodded as he listened to each person. "As I said, I have a silver weapon, just one, think I'll get another, I fight better with two blades than one. I am going back to my room and gather the rest of my things. Meet you all shortly."
Back in his room, he packs his things and gears himself. Cracking his neck, getting the kinks out. Glad we have casters but there will be head to head fighting. So far, seems to be three of us than can use a blade. Raina...has to be a druid from her clothing, perhaps she can use a blade as well.

Raina smiles at Serah. "That's very good. You may not need them, but I wouldn't count them out. Always expect the unexpected. I do have spells of Detect Magic, Protection from Evil, Remove Fear, Remove Curse and a few other hand spells, but I agree, scrolls would be nice, having more than one spell to use at once may come in handy."
When everyone leaves to gather their things, she does likewise, heading to her room and dress. Deerskin corset, side laced pants and knee high boots, all brown. Backpack, couple of pouches at her belt, a small sack tied to the backpack and silk rope attached. A hand axe at her right hip, a scimitar at her left hip, longbow at the back and quiver of arrows at her right side. A holy symbol around her neck, shape of a oak leaf, color of green. |

Muzzleknot nods once at Phourkyn's reply.
"Thank you, Phourkyn. I believe I have no more questions for you and the other archmages. If you could tell me where we might find Blackturret, we will meet briefly with him, then return to whatever location you specify to meet Favnir for transportation."

Navalia pulled her backpack over her shoulders and loosened the straps to fit comfortably around the armor. As she tested the presence of her swords, she lifted the holy symbol of Ellistrae to her lips and kissed it softly "May the Dark Maiden bless me and my peers on this journey." she whispered before heading back to the great hall to meet the others.
