Oh, and since we're formatting the journal entries like that, please number them. Journal Entry 1 - Day 1 - Early Morning....something like that.

I don't mind the journal entries, but in some cases its duplicate information.

I know one thing that would help would be the beginning of your DM posts, put the day and time of day. In this manner those that want to publish a journal entry have something to go by.

Also, in real life, you write in your journal after an event, not during it. Thus when the event was over and people were taking a break, that would most likely be when this happened. Then again, this is not real life. Just a thought.

I'm enjoying it myself. Also, I went ahead and numbered the pages that they would use, since I can see Davynor making multiple entries depending on what's going on.

Yeah, I don't think my character would do a proper journal entry until setting up camp. He'd just scribble ideas down for names and stuff.

I was thinking the same thing, that's why I thought two entries a day might be a good number. One in the morning and one at night. But I also wanted to leave leeway for random posts, like descriptions of plants and animals that you might come across.

Yeah, maybe. Although theres nothing to write about in the morning. Well, I guess what you did during your watch. But then you wouldn't be doing your job too well!

I kinda like the entries. It's a different format in that the game thread is generally 3rd person describing actions and what is said, while the journal is 1st person and more what the character is thinking about. Some of it is duplicate I know, and it's more work on our part but overall I think for this type of adventure I like it. Were we doing say a dungeon crawl or something, then it wouldn't be as useful.

You guys can do journal posts whenever you want really. I'm still not stipulating anything mandatory. It's just for fun

Just to note: unless Davynor pulls his hood down, he's almost impossible to see in natural settings. I didn't make that very clear, so just gonna assume that once we stopped to check the flora he pulled his hood back. ^_^

I would like to say that if I miss anything, like a journal post or something, please let me know. I've got quite a few threads running for this game and sometimes even if I see something, I may not remember to respond to it. So if anything slips through, feel free to get my attention.

Also, if you wouldn't mind, from here on out could you all include a spoiler button at the top of your posts containing current and max health, AC, THAC0, whatever weapon you are using and its damage, and if you are using any abilities or making any saves, please include them as well. During combat we'll also post initiative there. Thanks!

So the consensus seems to be to follow the river upstream, staying in the forest as you make your way along the riverbank? It is now close to noon and at this latitude that means you have about 5 hours of daylight left. Would you like to begin your trek now? Do you have anything that you need to retrieve from the base camp? Any other actions you would like to take before my next post?
