I would really like a role call. See who is all here....only person who did not see that they are epic, is ManWithDoor. Please state you are here, and if you are, take a few minutes to post your character information. if you don't have the sheet ready, you can edit it later.

I is here.
Name: Rika Nightgale Race: Catfolk *meow* Class: Bard 15 Prestige Class: Seeker of the Song 10 Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Description: Even for a catfolk, Rika is small. Not exactly a halfling small, but more the kinda girl you worry about blowing away in a strong gust of wind. She is polite, and very easy going...normally. Get on her bad side though, and you will find that the claws are not just for show (though they are painted a cute shade of pink). She is very patient, much like her fellow catfolk which have been known to stalk their prey for hours before they strike. She has no strong connections with her home tribe, preferring to live in a self imposed exile. She is not one for getting into fights, knowing to the fact that she herself could lay waste to large areas all by herself if she is less then careful. While her voice may have the power to bring out elemental fury on par with many great mages of the age, she often prefers to rely on its more soothing melodies to aid her comrades. Her favorite songs tend to be retelling of epics, of Mirranas especially (Catfolk champion of old, possibly made up by her [unknown]). Her melodies are on par with no other singer alive, and is often approached by those seeking to learn even some of her art (which she turns away, preferring to let the power she wields die with her). Her favorite food is fish, and she often times has a strange obsession with it. Dangle a fish out on a stick just out of her reach, and you can have her entertained for a few hours as she attempts to retrieve it. While she may love the fishies, it doesn't impair her thinking, and is able to realize when the "the fish is a lie" (sorry, had to say it). She has no great love for command structure, and is often motivated by the "Well, I feel like doing this" or "That sounds interesting." lines of reasoning. Its not to say she avoids responsibility, its more that she generally isn't interested in what others want, but more what might become an interesting tale to tell later. Short History: Not much is known about Rika's past...Even the other bards don't know much about her (which tends to say a lot). But what is known for sure is that she is from the Running Brook tribe of catfolk...Seldom seen, and if encountered, very few live to tell the tale. She left the tribe at the age of 15, wanderlust setting in and she needed to see the world. She look to earning her way via her major gift...an almost angelic voice which drew crowds to her where ever she performed. When she grew bored, she would often join up with a group of mercenaries, working more for sport then for profits (her singing paid the bills, and got her more then her fair share of mates). It is in one of these older encounters that she met the group, seeming to get along, but not forming any truly deep relationships. Somewhere along her travels, she encountered Clarissa Moonbeam during a bandit attack. Clarissa wielded a power the likes of which the young feline had never seen before, the power of The Song. Fire, ice and thunder were this mage's play things, the words from her mouth reshaping reality to defeat the bandits. Rika set about to learn from this great bard to no avail. She was turned away time and time again. For 3 years, Rika fallowed the elder bard, and eventually was granted permission to study...if she survived that long. For seven months, the two lived in seclusion, not seeing any other living creature as Rika attempted to learn to control even the simplest of elements. As she failed, time and time again, Clarissa would taunt the young bard, pushing her farther into frustration. Eventually, Rika just snapped. She screamed at her teacher, her blood boiling in frustration as her hands clenched into fists. The older mage just laughed, and told Rika to look at her hands, the fire she had tried so hard to manifest was held in her hands. For six years they trained, both pushing themselves to their limits. As Rika grew stronger and stronger, her teacher grew weaker and slower. And at the end of the sixth year, Clarissa passed away, leaving Rika the last keeper of The Song. She buried her friend and mentor under the old maple tree where the two had shared many evenings together. She mourned for a month, before she set out onto the road, determined to see all that she could in her life while she had to enjoy it. |

Class: Bard 15
Prestige Class: Seeker of the Song 10 I was looking at your character sheet and was wondering about some choices... Why did you not take the feats: Arcane Flourish, Arcane Accompaniment, and Melodic Casting? And I assume you took the extra 9 levels of Bard instead of Lyric Thaumaturge for some reason? or any of the feats that allow your bardic music to effect plants, elementals, or undead?

Part of it is Bobboky, I planned to rely more heavily on the Seeker side of the equation then the bard. Though if you wouldn't mind, I'd love to know what book those feats are in so I can check them out.

Arcane Flourish and Arcane Accompaniment are in the PHB2, Melodic Casting ( a must in my opinion) is from Complete Mage. Those are the only ones I remember off the top of my head... I can look threw my books for the others though if you want.
If you do not have access to the PHB2 or CM I can send you a copy of the Feats..

About the not relying on the bard thing. That is why I was confused when you took 15 levels in it.`The bardic music abilities from the bard class have never really impressed me and with the Lyric Thaumaturge class you still get the bardic music per/day but you get a few more low level utility spells... Maybe not critical at level 25 but having extra spell slots to sacrifice to boost your perform checks is always a good thing.

NP, I just like Melodic casting as it allows you to use spell-trigger items while using your Bardic Music... I also normally skip putting points into Concentration when i have it...
