I see you've made some posts and some questions in other threads--I don't know if this answers all your questions, but the best way to begin to understand play by post might be to sign up for the New Players Solo Game--you will receive your own, person game master (a real person, not an automated text thingamajig) to guide you through a short scenario and get a better understanding of the games and of some of the conventions of play by post. • New game adverts are like the weather in that there might be a pattern and overall consistency to them, but like the weather droughts and floods can and do occur.
• Real Life is also like the weather so leave yourself time for the expected and unexpected, don't overextend yourself and the same applies to those you play with.
• Games can get lots of applications and you will be passed over, treat it as a bad roll and move on
• The solo game is a great intro - do one. You can also join other games early on but be upfront about your experience
• Some real soloists play Ironsworn Give it a whirl...

How's the weather there? How long has it been since you have been gone? Tell us a bit more about yourself, what genre you prefer (high fantasy, low magic low fantasy, historical fiction, modern, sci fi, horror, etc.)? Do you have character class preference?

There are a lot of choices for various RPG systems here, although PF and D&D are the two most common. We have quite a few games with very long legs here. In fact, I talk about one below. To start, you may want to check out a solo game. Even if you have PbP experience, different sites vary to some degree.

As far as finding games goes, try here. This is where there are games seeking players. It can be a bit daunting but don't give up. It may take a few applications before you get accepted...but it's worth it once you're in. This is a great place to scratch your RPG itch and interact with some great DMs and players. There is some incredible role playing going on here. I thought I was a pretty good story teller, but I have been put to shame by the quality of many of the players...and I have learned a lot.

This is a place where the people are welcoming, where the games are interesting, and where generally they only expect you to post a few times a week. I've been playing D&D for a very long time and I thought I've seen it all, but this site has some amazing games going on. I've been playing (storytelling as much as rolling) for a few years now in a game that has been going on continuously for four decades, started tabletop and moved online two decades ago. It's set in an alternate Europe where the worlds of Tolkien and Howard existed in ages past. So there is a hint of LOTR and a hint of Conan in it and since it's set in an alt Europe it somehow feels familiar.

This is just one example and there are other great campaigns on RPGX. You should take some time to "stroll around" the site and see if anything catches your eye.

Salamat malam, chongjasmine. It's been too long since I was in Singapore. Glad to see the global attraction to creative writing isn't limited to the West! Let us know when you land in a game. It is always fun to be able to follow along with the folks who introduce themselves here but it is hard to keep track of all of them.
