@bhel
I'm going to assume that opening comms is not something I will need to roll for. At this point, control of the ship has been established and I don't see dialing a phone number as being a complicated task. Would that be right? |

Sorry about not getting to the last couple of late questions. They came in after I was out cold for the night already. No rolls would be needed for comms, though that is a moot point now.

Do I have any idea how long Issa will remain paralyzed?

Until it would be the least convinient for her to awake, so, probably whenever next round starts.

Yeah... so that raises a pretty obvious follow-up question:
How difficult would it be to kill her while she's paralyzed? Alternatively @Qiksilv - Maybe we could go with a plan where I convince Mraak not to do anything he's gonna regret ![]() |

Not very hard, though doing so will have consequences. We haven't seen that stop David yet though...

Yeah, that checks out
![]() Anyway, I don't think I'm gonna do that. I'm not convinced it develops the story to be any more interesting than we already got by attacking her in the first place. |

Sam might be prejudiced against 'nonnhumans' but he's not a murderer. Plus, he just found out this ship is over 3k years old and is still operable so now he's a emotionally attached, lol.
As cool as it would be for for 2npeople to long jump between flying ships and have the aliens get blown up that's not currently in Sam's future. If it's in David's future he could say Sam is compromised and try to leave him behind too. ![]() Last edited by Qiksilv; Aug 17th, 2023 at 06:05 PM. |

Fair enough. Any idea what you’re currently thinking?
I think in David’s head this is a hostage situation, and he’s not inclined to believe that Mraak will let him and Sam go. Though on top of that I’m trying to figure out how on earth to make it feel like the story is finished with just two more posts! |

I keep feeling like it would be nice to be able to have Sam and David argue a little bit. They haven't gotten to interact much, and I think it would be cool to get to juxtapose the way they see this situation differently in spite of their similarities.
I'm just struggling to figure out how to arrange it with Mraak there holding a gun. David wouldn't want to be honest in front of him, and I think it's unlikely he'll leave the two of us alone. |

@Bhelogan - It seems like Mraak and Issa know each other. Would David have any read, from the way they've been talking or reacting to things, on whether or not Mraak cares about Issa? Like, does David have any reason to believe Mraak might be susceptible to a plan where David tries to get to him by threatening Issa? Or is the read more that they're each in it for themselves and Mraak wouldn't be likely to care about such a threat? Or is that the kind of thing we'd want the dice to decide?
A scene where David takes Issa hostage and tries to threaten her to get Mraak to put the gun down could be interesting in a world where he's not totally unmoved by such a threat. It would also have the upside of giving Sam a pretty clear picture of what's going on in David's world, and then we might get to see them talk a little more? Followup question would be: Is there something around here that's sharp enough that I could use it for this? Maybe a piece of scrap metal from the fight against the robots, or a shard of glass from a broken window/mirror/display? Last edited by squirmonkey; Aug 17th, 2023 at 07:27 PM. |

I think Sam will likely lean towards diplomacy. While he may not have a lot of interest in socializing he figures that cooperation will get rid of these two faster than if he becomes a hostage. Technically I suppose he would not have to deal with them if he was dead but that wouldn't cross his mind
![]() @Bhel Since Sam saw the bounty list would it have included any honorifics? Is there any reason HE would know if Mraak or Issa really were senators or Lords or somesuch? |

The list wouldn't give much info on that. Mraak certainly is acting like a politician though, while Issa acts more like a hired thug.
