Once the anvil is struck Kael plans to cut the front off from the horde before the true strength of the anvil becomes apparent. More orcs will almost certainly charge through the darkness, they are not clever enough (in the majority) to spot the trap if all they have seen are the easily folding slaves.

In the darkness they will probably have about the same trouble they had with the mists and grease. The anvil will become a mopping up operation of the rabble that makes it through.

At 120' per 6 seconds it should be relatively easy to block off most of the front with little time delay.

EDIT: Kael will have his wing fight as expected, but he will hang back unless he sees an ideal spot for a surgical strike. In a melee Kael is little more than a pin cushion.

EDIT 2: If he gets any implication that the warlord is dead and the front is breaking Kael will issue an offer of quarter. Without their leadership, some will fold and if nothing else it will sow chaos in their ranks

I love how I keep getting all these 17+ rolls for attacks against touch. LOL Not that I mind he keeps hitting the target, just wish I could get these rolls for things that have a higher DC target.

I have to give Raunchel props on that fight though, it's not often a dm makes me truly fear for my characters life. Talk about some suspence, half the time I'm like god the dm is just trying to kill us. We are so dead

It's one thing to think, ok big orc and his minions are trying to kill my character. It's another one to think Damn!! the DM is trying to kill my character

It is in the job description, and otherise it is no fun for either side.

The bodyguard standing in front of the warlord survived the lightning and the AoE, so I assume that Monzoul first uses the claws on this guy and then tries the bite on the warlord.

Only slight problem with that, it's a line attack that goes straight through the orc he ducked behind and the warlord still gets hit by a full blast.

Followed by another round of c12 bro,... why haven't you been taking your AoO's AoO's and there is no way they are getting away with that body Monzoul will outspeed them easily

Yes, but he made his save, which I chose to represent by him finding cover behind his 'friend'. Not that it helped him much against the bite attack that came a bit later. If you really want it you can probably try to take the body, but chances are that the orcs will still put up a fight for it. It can't just be grabbed up that easily.

No your right about that, but I have another use of his AoE and they aren't getting out of a 30 foot radius before I can hit them with it

They are falling back, but not in what could be described as good order.

So wait, the sorcorer has been commanding them in common the entire time, but now they only speak orc?

And these things aren't shaken? you realize they would have to have 15 hit dice and a +4 wis mod not to be shaken right? Which gives them a -2 to almost everything.

She speaks common, but the orc warriors speak orc. And yes, there is a reason for that. And they aren't shaken for the same reason that you can't make a large group of people shaken as easily as someone who is alone. They are in a rather large group and that gives them much more courage than when they would have been alone. Ruleswise, this is reflected in the HD part, a large group(which you are trying to indimidate now) has a uge pile of them.

Because mechanically I can think of no reason under the sun why they would not be shaken. unless they where 15th level pc's
