I have awoken from a hiatus here and this is the first game i swooped over to.

1. I am new to P2e, is that ok?
2. Are there any limits on what we can pick for class/ancestry?

Application
right-aligned image
Name: Ignacius "Iggy" Rumbledethump
Class: Sorcerer (Draconic - Red)
Ancestry and Heritage: Vanaran (Bandagee Heritage)
Background: Entertainer
Age: 19
Height: 5ft11
Description and Backstory: From the earliest of ages, Iggy was enthralled with magic. Though to clear up any misconception, we're talking real magic here, not the showy beams of ice variety, no, but the proper stuff. Card tricks, coins from behind ears, the true classics of the world. No errand about town in his childhood was complete without the customary standing and gawping at street performers working their craft. Obviously this would naturally follow him behind dragged away by the ear, to get back to the errand at hand.

As the years passed, he practised in private, honing the skills needed to dazzle and amaze - though he often had to provide the sounds of amazement himself as he had yet to show another living soul. Until one day came, that he saw a flier for his chance. The Flugelhorn Circus was passing through town, with the two most glorious words his adolescent brain could process upon the bottom...."Performers Wanted".

Standing by the tent, still empty as no crowds were expected until the following day, something felt off, as he felt heat radiating from within but put it down to nerves. It was hard to put it down to nerves though when fire started pulsing from his fingertips as if each finger had been replaced by a lit candle. Panic overtook, and he swung his hands, trying to fling the fire off him before he was burnt...though he realised later that it never even felt warm. In this effort, the edges of the tent caught ablaze and after a moment of wide-eyed horror, he bolted. News of the fire spread about town, roughly as fast is the fire had spread on the tent. He carried on running, spending the journey out of town trying to get to grips with this "gift" and equally importantly trying to get to grips with why he had noticed red dragon scales appearing on his neck. A sign on the road said he wasn't far from Brassfield, perhaps there he could rest up, maybe take on some small jobs and start getting things on track again.

Well I'm not the DM so don't take my word on it, but I'm pretty sure most everyone else is in the same boat about being new to P2e so no worries there.

Yeah, being new to PF2e is okay, and no limits to class and ancestry, so long as they're official.

Edit: Two humans and a half-human. We need some non-humans now~ (though humans are the most common, so it makes sense).

Lady looks like this in human form. In kitsune form, she has grey fur. Those in town would probably know her by appearance if not by name, in both forms.

Edit: And here is Mayor Revona Mae! I'll try to provide images for major NPCs (and try to find images for NPCs you guys make into major NPCs because they're so beloved, I guess)

I had pondered Half Orc or Vanaran, and then wasn't sure what the world was like and became a coward and wrote human happy to mix it up and go with one of them if it would fit within the lore of the campaign.

Everything fits. Even automatons. Everyone will fit in somehow, even if they're from somewhere else. Play what you want~

Edit: Which heritage are you going for with Iggy?

Edit 2: I see you went with monkeyman.

Well, I'm gonna be brave and go for an Iruxi! And I'm completely not reworking a half finished character just for the sake of being encouraged to go for more exotic races!

Application: Akamo'ahi
right-aligned image

Name: Akamo'ahi, impatient landdwellers call him Aka.
Class: Druid
Ancestry & Heritage: Lizardfolk with Ifrit heritage.
Background: Willing host
Description: Even for a lizardfolk of his own clan, Akamo'ahi stands out. The paler spots along his chest, throat and palms are almost white and a series of almost bioluminescent flecks adorn his back, tail, pectorials, ears and forehead. But that isn't all, the large round frills which his tribe admired as a symbol of beauty are misshapen in Akamo'ahi, his are more pointed and look like something halfway between fins and horns. Beyond that, the Iruxi has a slightly wiry build for his race, which non-lizardfolk likely wouldn't pick up and lizardfolk would likely find pleasingly toned rather than frail and weak. His exotic looks even within his own race are far from a source of insecurity, by now Akamo'ahi has fortified his sense of self which can be seen in his proud, upright stance and enunciated manner of speaking.

In his clothing, Akamo'ahi tends to prefer loose, flexible garments. Though it should be noted that the lizardfolk is secure and adaptive enough to wear limited clothes. That's not to say his sense of dress is vulgar, but rather that he's frequently seen without a shirt or tunic, prefering instead long flowing skirts, and possibly half cloaks. What he does enjoy in clothing however is colour, and quite often he goes clothed in sufficient colours to inspire envy in a rainbow. That said, the druid is versatile and practical enough to eshew these luxuries when his surroundings can't supply him in such luxuries. A similar approach can be seen in his grooming: He enjoys a bath to moisturise his scales, but when a clean bathtub isn't provided he'll be almost as content with a stale creek or deep puddle.

When the lizardfolk was born under unlucky stars and during his time with his clan prejudice surrounded him. He had to work twice as hard as any of his kin, and learned diligence like none else. While it's been ages since he's lived in by thermal vents where he was born and toiled to redeem the sky at his birth, the same pains still haunt, shape and guide him now. The result is a clear distinction between those he calls friends, in lieu of a clan, and those he doesn't. People who the lizardfolk likes will find him dependable, driven and empathic. But those same qualities won't soon be found by strangers: At first meeting, Akamo'ahi is quick to judge and can easily be abrasive or jovial depending on how he expects a person to be. He's quick to judge this, perhaps a bit too quick, and he might peg someone wrong.

While his subconscious drive to please others is what mainly motivates the lizardfolk, it should be noted that he's not only driven to please others. The man is haunted by the spirits of his ancestors. The druid respects them deeply, and while they don't often call on him, he sees these summons as sacred and will follow them unquestioningly. Beyond this religious drive there's also Akamo'ahi's conscious drive to learn new stories and prove himself mighty and impessive. He likes to think of himself as a legendary warrior, though he's too humble to think himself one. Still, given the chance he'll go out and meet new people for a chance to uncover something legendary, he's still unsure if that's an optimistic streak, or just loneliness.

Backstory: Akamo'ahi was born quite a ways away from Brassfield. The Iruxi clan he hails from lived along the petrified body of an ancient magma dragon, spellbound generations ago by his clansmen. And it's his reverence of these legends that inspired most of Akamo'ahi's diligence from a young age. When he swore to be a warrior of his clan, the elders disaproved, they reminded him of the stars of his birth which he was named after: "Poor omen" in the Iruxi tongue. They didn't want a bad luck charm on the frontlines of any territorial conflict. Instead the youth was made to work in the village as a bonecrafter. It's not to say that the young lizardfolk was a lazy apprentice, nor an untalented spawn, in fact Akamo'ahi was skilled beyond his years and diligent despite his longing for heroics as he worked on spears and knives wielded by better men than himself. His only consolation was to continue telling the stories of their clan to their young.

And this is how Akamo'ahi worked his way into maturity. He was barely an adult by the time the unfortunate event that'd uproot their entire clan happened: The dragon woke. For a society living on the presumed cadavre of a magma dragon, said dragon erupting is a terrible uprooting. Akamo'ahi doesn't recall where he was when it happened, it seemed he was more or less everywhere. A few nausea-inducing moments later however he had crashed into a shallow puddle of water amidst a veritable curtain of smoke, fighting desperately for every breath and struggling to breathe anything beyond the burnt legacy of his people.

In the following days, his life took on a strange turn. After the smoke dissipated and the humanoid reptile came to he found himself struggling for identity, swearing vengeance against this dragon he's slain before. Only to collapse after a few steps. The Iruxi was parched and burnt severely by the time help arrived. A volcano cannot erupt without some cult rising up around it, and the same was true for the re-awakening of an ancient elemental dragon presumed dead. The cult in question was a conglomeration of flame-worshipping nihilist druids. They took him on, and began trying to nurse him back to health and teach him their arts. No teachings resonated in Akamo'ahi's mind however, instead his lust for battle against the wyrm which uprooted him moved his limbs almost against his own volition.

His endless battlecries were heretical to the flame-worshippers however, and even a normally sacred ashborn salamander sprang from a volcano was liable for heresy eventually. By the time Akamo'ahi was put on trial he was physically healed to the point of being able of walking about, but still confused and given to violent heretical episodes. It was one of the zealots by the name of Brondir who recognised what was going on in the Iruxi: memories of his ancestors were haunting him, keeping him from clear coherent thought. His saviour was a druid of the wild order, come to study flame druidism in this cult.

Brondir stole away the grey-yellow lizardfolk in the night, choosing exile for them both over death for Akamo'ahi. The pair travelled for months in search for a wild order druid's circle. During this time, the lizard's violent tendencies grew less, but so did his capacity for coherent thought. After a year finally the lizardfolk's guide finally found his old circle and pleaded them to help Akamo'ahi's condition. The druids saw the challenge as a familiar problem, often fledgeling wild druids had trouble staying in control of their animal impulses, Akamo'ahi's ancestral communions were no different. And so it came to be that the young Iruxi was introduced to his druidism. He was helped at first, but once the initiate regained some clarity, he started to work hard to keep his clear-mindedness.

This all continued until the lizardfolk's saviour once more left the order to study flame druidism. Akamo'ahi couldn't bear to let his saviour go alone, and joined him for safety. It's in this manner where the youth came across brassfield, where Brondir mysteriously fell ill and died soon after. Akamo'ahi had trouble moving away from the town ever since, sensing some sort of foul trickery afoot.

What I'd like to do?
  • Investigate Brondir's death.
  • Find surviviors and/or remnants of his village.
  • Pacify or murder the dragon caught in his birth village.

I am new to Pathfiunder 2e but I am really insterested in playing a summoner. I am still deciding if it will be a gnome or a human though. Can you help me with the understanding about what I could expect in building the character?

Name: Chiasa (Meaning Thousand Mornings) (That's Chee-AH-sah, not Kee-a-sah)
Class: Rogue
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Ancestry and Heritage: Kitsune,
Background: Thief
Appearance: Human: Tall and fair with long golden hair tied in a half up half down style and green, fox like eyes with long lashes.

Fox: A golden/auburn anthropomorphic fox with nine long bushy tails, a long elegant muzzle and the same green eyes.

Description and Backstory: Chiasa grew up in a city with her mother, father and two siblings, a younger brother and an older sister. She was brought up in a working class home, with her parents working as slaves on a nearby estate for free shelter and basic necessities. Her childhood was fairly ordinary for someone of her standing, and she lived a normal and simple life of playing, eating and sleeping. She didn't go to school, because she was being raised in preparation to go into slavery too when she was old enough. However, when she was 17, she was found passed out dead drunk in her shack. The slave owner was furious and turned her out onto the streets, leaving her with nothing. His intention was that she would die, but of course she didn't. She was forced to steal to survive, and quickly learned that her good looks and bewitching eyes were helpful in her line of work. She could charm someone into handing over their wallet in a flash. She made other friends on the streets that pushed her through tests of skill, to help her become the best she could be. Even when she didn't have to anymore, she often kept stealing just for the fun of it. Nothing much, just a few odd trinkets here and there from people on the street. She often likes to brag to her street friends about how she could steal the shirt off someone's back and they wouldn't notice. She is currently involved in a romantic relationship with a 28 Sylph Gunslinger man called Mursos who lives with her. They have been together for 3 years, and have a fiery and passionate relationship, although often quarrel about the morals of seducing other men for their money or property, as sometimes things go... a bit far with her clients... to put it that way. She is also incredibly proud, and so often questions his loyalty to her after such discussions.

Complete newbie to Pathfinder, but have played DnD, so that's kinda similarish right?

Summoners are complicated. O.O But yeah, I can help. I just need specific questions.

Human isn't a heritage. The heritages for kitsune do have human or fox forms, and variant heritages have human forms.

And the two are pretty similar, but PF2e is a little more complex.

So, I'm taking a shot at building Gylli to get my head around the rules, and I've got a question re: alchemist familiars. Since I'm focusing her more as a healer/support than a bomb-throwing pyromaniac, it looks like Alchemical Familiar is the best option for a 1st level class feat, and I love the idea that she's got a little woodland critter that she nursed back to health with her elixirs... maybe a slightly odd-looking familiar, given all the dubious mixtures for which it's served as a guinea pig (I'm thinking a squirrel, a raccoon, something like that... probably not an actual guinea pig).

A pretty important question, though, is how much the familiar can do to deliver elixirs itself. If I'm reading the rules right (and I might not be), it makes a huge difference to her effectiveness as a healer if the familiar can be using its actions to scuttle over to an injured party member and delivering an elixir of life, or whether she needs to personally deliver them. From what little I read, this seems to be one of those "ask your DM" situations where it's up for interpretation whether that's something a familiar can do or not.

Name: Landordas Fiddleswift.
Nickname: Because most Non-gnome races hate how large gnome names are! :PLando.
Class: Summoner (Fey Eidolon).
Ancestry and Heritage: Fey-Touched Gnome.
Background: Raised by Belief (Desna).

Description.

Being blessed with a strong fey blood, Ladordas have many of the otherworldly features that most fey have like the delicate slender figure, the everlasting young appearance but what really defines his undeniable Fey heritage is the birthmarks in his face, his reddish eyes that recall the color of autumn and supernatural beauty than somehow makes difficult to realize his true gender. More than often, he was confused as a female because his lack of beard and his delicate face features. His attire consist on austere white shirt and common black leather pants and brown leather boots and on top of it he use the typical hooded tunic opened in the front but the most striking of his attire and the cause of the confusion about his gender is his quirk and obsession with elven jewelry, specially with fancy and beautiful earrings. He just enjoy to use it and love how he looks with it.

Another thing that makes Ladordas stand out is his eidolon, Reius. A fey Humanoid being with a mix of vulpine and canine features that recalls to a more bestial kitsune in human form though with some apparent differences like his slit amber pupils, his bestial clawed hand and paws that resembles like wolf limbs, his long fox ears, wild long gray hair or tail. When Reius stands at Landordas' side, the scene impose in everyone who see it, an aura of power and dignity from Reius giving the feeling of a guardian that complements with the delicate appearance of Landordas and give him the image of being an ambassador of the First World. Resuming, you can say that the two folks just crossed a dimensional portal a second ago from the First World to establish relationships with the fellow of the material plane.

Personality.

Well-behaved, considerate, confident, talkative, inquisitive, jovial are the core attributes of Landordas. You could say that he born with it but most of it, if not all of them came from the interaction with the people he hold dear in his heart. His parents taught him as a servant of the temple, he should be presto to serve and hear, show kindness, respect and always put in the feet of the ones that seek for advice and help. It was in the core of the Desna teaching he learned to be Considerate and well-behaved but then, the warm, love and acceptance that gave him Lotus, made him confident and jovial to step for what he want and to enjoy his life. Finally, his interaction with his complicated but dear Eilodon, Reius taught that the best way to cultivate a relation is was to really learn how to share your thoughts and feelings in the most possible way so the other part can understand you; A difficult task that took years of Landordas' life but know the Eidolon can know and almost discover what he's thinking and feeling the same way he learned of him with his inquisitive nature that it would be only one attribute he came with.

Another quirk of Landordas is his love for music and art, you can say the elven culture influenced his life to appreciate beauty, especially elven jewelry. Most of people would consider his obsession with it as a mere greed but in truth, that is the only connection with a moment very important to him; the day that a person recognized himself for what he is and not the chosen one. Because the person of that precious moment, Lotus, a gnome female of the church of Desna and his first true love. Lotus always showed a unusual interest towards Lando but unlike her, he never got the courage to step in and go into a deeper relationship he wanted to with her. Still, Lotus' words resounded even today along with the feelings he felt when she sincerely told him he was cute, loving and appreciating himself instead of seeing his life like a mountain of expectations to fulfill for others' sake.

As one made two, Landordas have a significant relationship with his Eilodon to the point he can describe it with accuracy. Reius as a wolf-fox creature, have a mixed nature; finding a prideful person that have a peculiar code of honor but at the same time have the mischievous and playful nature of a fox. When he is not playing the role of guardian, people can see a relaxed fey that loves to celebrate and enjoy the healthy joys of life, joking and talking like if he was part of the Material plane. On the other hand, When he is in the role of a guardian, you can appreciate a educated, refined, pragmatic soldier and advisor, dealing with things in a practical way, only speaking the necessary when is necessary. For most of the people that kind of behavior is acceptable but for some reason seeing a rigid Reius makes Landordas treat him in a too familiar way in front of others and when that happens most people realize how deep the relationship is between both when they began to talk casually between them, complain and pick one to another like if they were a couple of brothers, Reius the big one and Lando the young one. In the end, you can say those two are one of a kind package.

Backstory.

The scent of the forest, the view over the trees, the scenery filled with a mix of the beautiful elven and the audacious Gnome Architecture were the place that the little Landordas came to know as his birthplace. Omesta, a city of the elves that became his home provided what most gnomes would call a life out of ordinary, filled with the wonder and beauty the elven architecture and design used to look. You can say that Even his life was out of ordinary, as the son of the great priest of Dasne temple, he was fated to be the successor by the stars as his father said. On his father's eyes, his feytouched birthmark on his face was the sign left by the goddess Desna as the shape in resembled to the shape of some butterfly have in their wings but to the humble Landordas, it was one big burden he found hard to deal with.

Unlike his parents that were true followers of Desna, the only thing that connected Lando with the goddess and the temple was his position as the heirloom of the Great priest and although his life was surrounded with monastic knowledge and the study of the starts that he considered interesting, like the study of the stars and astrology but inside of him there was a dissatisfaction about the life inside of that place, filling a position in that temple he wasn't worthy or even inspired to fill in the first place. The only thing that connected Lando with Desna was his desire to travel in the search of new experiences and things to see and learn about.

Perhaps it was the routine of the eclesiastic life or simply the pressure of the heritage behind his back that lead the humble and pragmatic gnome to focus more in the constant way to sneak out of his duties as a apprendice of the church to search adventures and troubles in the small and artistic city.

Everyday of his early childhood was filled with the wonder of what elvish art could bring to his life, especially towards their art in jewelry where the little Lando found a hobby and an obsession projected by a simply flattery of his childhood friend Lotus.

But what really marked and influenced his life was the day he went deeper in the Mielini Forest. AS always his eagerness for adventure led him that moment to the deeper part of the forest where the boundary with the corrupted swamp were found.

left-aligned image
Reius, Landordas' Eidolon
[It was in that place where he found a deadly wounded big wolf. The creature soon pleaded help as he found on the small feytouched gnome the opportunity to survive and recover his mighty form one more. All happened fast and in a mysterious way. He suddenly felt the magic flowing from the wolf and at the same time from him was flowing a stream of energy that shaped the once big wolf in a humanoid being similar to a human but at the same time having vulpine traits.

Of course that when the child appeared from the forest with a creature behind him, the guard of the city thought the demons found a way to reach the city and though the situation amused his Eilodon, the panicked gnome explained anything to the point they realized that the kid stepped in the world of what most people called a uncommon profession, the summoner.

From there on, his journey toward the new career filled the gnome from awe and joy. Even the years he kept filling his duties in the temple were more bearable as he could live new experiences thought his Eidolon senses without leaving the temple and with it he learned new thing but at some point when he wanted to learn about Eidolon, he barely find anything related. The only clue he had was a blurry memory of Reius sat on a high stone while a pack of wolf where proclaiming him the king of wolfs.
