Szayel pulls a small wooden box out of his backpack & sets it before the group with a rolled up parchment.

Szayel This is a map to a specialty vendor that owes me quite a few favors, while he never works for free, he will give you a discount rate on whatever you need. Deliver this box to him, unopened, & he will know I sent you. As it stands I have an appointment I need to keep, & don't worry, I'll keep in touch.

With that, Szayel bids everyone farewell & heads out, once he passes the boundary of the spell you can no longer hear him.

Leo signs quickly not wanting to waste anymore time, Do we have enough parchment for the forger to forge us some false documents and a copy of this map? If so let us do that and be on our way.

Turul pulls out a stack of parchment as well as a wide assortment of inks, each carefully labeled with the name of a noble. Finally with a flourish, he retrieves an inkpen inset with silver filigree. "Who do you want to be? If you think you can pass yourself off as better than average merchants, I would recommend that. The parchment is higher quality than is issued to soldiers as orders or whatnot. I do have some tight grained paper if we think anyone can pass off as minor nobility." Pausing, he looks around before his eyes stop on Amiir: "You could be a rich factor, and these would be your most trusted journeymen, and perhaps a guard who needs no introduction?"

Leo signs, I would be best as a bodyguard, I do not know what dela could pass of for. You see it is harder for me to play a role without the group. We may as well all arrive and gather intel together. It would be more efficient though higher chance for discovery. Unless.......... I think I got it. He points to the muscular man, you could start a bar fight against one of them to see how well they fair in combat. Turul you can attempt to sell them a valuable manuscript. Dela can try to steal something from them to see how alert they are. I can observe there patterns at night and have an idea of what the activity level is and where it is focused on. Or at least something like that.

"Dela could also use the forgers talents to pin the thefts on different guilds all Dela needs is a marking of somekind. This might cause them to worry about other guilds as well as keeping many members busy while we weaken them." thinking intently on what she could do for the group.

Turl Taking a deep breath, the Illumian quietly says "Slowly, slowly. We must act soon, but we must know for certain where we are going. Our quarry sells information... They have to contact their employers at some point which, to my knowledge is the only time we will know with certainty their location." Looking down at the webwork of his association, Turul continued "Does anyone here know how to contact the Hidden Ones for information? Do we have to make a specific donation at a temple, or leave a cryptic note on a job board? That would be the place to find someone." Until then, I can forge documents today that will get us in any city on the continent without suspicion, as long as I know where we are going." Looking at Dela, Turul asks "I like the chaos that your plan could cause, but could you explain what kind of documents would be useful? It is my understanding that most thieves take things away, and leave as little of themselves as possible. A signed letter would be a banner... there are a few interpretations, but most of them I can conceive of quickly point directly to a group just like us."

Leo signs, A torn parchment with a symbol would suffice. Perhaps a little blood on it and it would like the item lifted was during a fight. The torn parchment would seem like it was not left behind, rather it went unnoticed.

With a devilish smile "This is a common strategy we thieves use when we don't want to put much notice on someone. What Dela would use would be a note from one guild to a member explaining the job and where to deliver. This would make it seem more of a novice mistake then a placement. Dela's ideal placement is to place it near a window or near the object that she stole. Best way to show it is true and not a copy is to copy a wax stamp from another guild or group. Dela has a Mission stamp from a previous mission if that would help."
Scratching her chin "Even if Delas plan fails and they believe a group was doing this it would be much simpler for the guild to pin it on an enemy guild and not cause chaos within the rankings."

"We will have some time on the road to work out the details since we need to arrive at our destination before we can do much of anything, our cover as a well off factor or merchant consortium would be useful since it could open up some invites to places we will need access to. Also factors and merchants quite frequently make use of guild offerings one way or another and we can even request information from them should we need an opening to trace. Lastly, this contact will hopefully have some insights they can share with us that might change things but we won't know till we arrive.".

Amiir definitely has a look of interest on his face for he already is pleased that the group will seem to be able to hold it together to accomplish this task.

"I will need a few hours to draft documents applicable to a merchant consortium. That is fine work which can not be accomplished while traveling. As for the notes to help redirect attention from thefts, I will give it some thought, if it is a common strategy among one or more guilds, it may stand out if it is done improperly, and as I have never seen one of these messages I doubt I will be able to recreate it accurately."

 

Basically just have to let the DM roll the Forgery checks. Let's hope it's done well.

ooc Still here as well, think we were wrapping up the forgery which takes some time then we are on the road, so we either need to secure carriage or horses for those who don't have some.
