I mean I don’t think advancing the scene and character interactions are mutually exclusive. Especially in a one post per week game.

I would agree with that. But I wouldn't know how to advance the scene without god-modding your character into following Aisha or leaving him behind. I definitely want to suit your preference though. I'm personally not concerned with how fast the story advances. I've never had a game die on me yet which the GM didn't have to leave due to external factors. I didn't mind focusing on the melodrama and setting up a resolution post in the least. If that didn't work for you, I'm sure that we'll catch our story rhythm with a few more posts.

Another mechanical question: I don't fully remember the section about Anomalies, but are they something that the players/jaunters know would exist in the reality if they are a factor? Also I recall that there are circumstances in which there may be more than one complication than one, but that was something that depended on your Rift score, correct? Would we expect to have discovered Bazaar-01's sole complication now? And in terms of narrative vs. gameplay, I imagine our jaunters wouldn't think too much about complications or anomalies, correct? To them it's always just "anything can happen, so sometimes it's not that good", or so I'd imagine.

Anomalies would typically be open information, yes, especially if they're created by the immediate jaunt.

And yes, the typical exchange is one truth for one complication, and declaring two truths only becomes an option with higher Rift counts. Anyone who's jaunted before is prepared for the fact that there will always be something about their destination that's unexpected, potential trouble or just 'off'.

Cool, so I'm clear about that.

Another thing to confirm then, but are we out of currency at the start of our adventure? I just thought that we were, but it would also make sense if we had a few finances. I'm not fully clear yet how belongings are represented mechanically. Some can become utilities, but beyond that I'm not really sure. Stuff and Lessons seem uniquely for character advancement, if I didn't misunderstand. But whether we have currency or not, I should probably figure out how familiar Aisha is with holding money anyways. I imagine that so far she would have been perfectly content being penniless and leaving anything transactional to Mike and RayJay.

RAW, you have spare change, enough to meet basic needs. Anything outside Utilities and Resources are just there are the narrative requires. Resources can still be used in a transactional sense.

Okay, so would it be appropriate for example if we have a big bag of cash in a backpack in our car that stems from a past heist before we split from RayJay?

Apart from checking the status of a jauntbox, do the attendants appear to do anything else with it? In particular anything that could prevent simply reactivating and using the jauntbox once inside?

Just as a heads-up, Aisha is rather sincere about her hope of possibly inducing a bazaar crashing rift event. She's going to keep our own party as removed from the chaos as possible, but from now on she's going to start assembling data and calculating eventualities that could lead to some other hapless jaunter making an ill-considered choice that is not in their best interest. But Aisha would definitely play the long con. For now it's definitely just an idea that she'll only pursue once she has figured out how to avoid the consequences that such a major upset would create for our own group.

So I haven’t read the game yet because removing a game thread from my control panel really lets my adhd shine. But man…. I’m definitely interested in what’s going on now. Today was hell, but I’ve got an easy shift tomorrow. Will get caught up promise.

Basically, Aisha's mischievous nature is rearing its head for the first time. But she usually avoids being a nuisance to her own party. So I'm not sure if she'll end up deciding to cash in on creating a big disturbance. It's just something that has occurred to her and that will take a bit for her to get out of her system.

I didn't get anything up yesterday. Wife let me sleep in today and I sorta feel almost normal after the week of overtime. Working on a post today, but with regards to currency... After running heists with RayJay I'd envision us having duffle bags of money in the trunk of the car. Just curious if we've actually got money to exchange or did RayJay spend it all on strippers and drugs?
