Also, given the question of omniversal aid has been raised, what's exactly the policy of the OC when interacting with cultures and societies across the omniverse? Do they follow some kind of Prime Directive? Or do they act as they like? As far as the PC would know, I mean.

There's definitely nonsense in there - or at the very least, excessively fringe takes on omniversal nature. There's a good chance he's being deliberately obtuse.

The OC are fairly Prime Directive in general practise, until it's more convenient for them to start kicking down doors. When push comes to shove they care more about getting the job done, securing the target, etc.

I had to reread this because I also thought we were all bundled up with Chris. At the time I had caught that Tou was leaning in to tell Mike something privately, but I think the "backed up a few steps" part went under, mostly because nobody followed. In Mike's reply it seemed like he transitioned from listening to Tou (and shuddering over his tentacles) to responding to Agni and then back to Chris seamlessly as if we're all still standing together. At least my previous posts had assumed that neither Agni, Mike, or Aisha moved.

I've pondered a bit on how to realign the order of the events, and what I think that I'll do for the post that I'll start writing right now is to establish that Tou has been discreetly talking to Mike, who got uncomfortable with his proximity, which Tou chose to respect and he only then motioned for us to take some distance from Chris when Tou turned his back on him. And then we can just assume that after Chris was still able to follow our conversation from a distance, because why shouldn't he have some noise-enhancement ear pods?

That's what I'm going with for now. Hope that works for everybody. If not, we can retcon and I'll edit. I kind of like the idea that Aisha realizes that she can't take a sidebar on Chris. Then she'll have to be more creative about getting everybody on the same page. Sounds fun.

About my latest post, I'd like to add that Aisha is not actually meaning to antagonize Toussaint in the earlier half. The way I would frame it is that this is her version of acting bratty. Aisha is still unhappy that she miscalculated and didn't end up liking her decision when she went against her better judgment as she chose to throw Toussaint into the cold water without talking him through it properly. And I really don't think it is fair of her to take that out on Tou, but in a way that's what she is doing. I'll try to move her past being mean to the new guy fairly quickly. Being mean isn't actually in her programming, nor anything that she considers productive.

I think the way I'll go about it is that she'll decide that working well with Tou will improve how well she works with Agni and Mike, once she sees a precedent like that established. Otherwise, I think it will take a bit for Aisha to fully count Tou as one of 'her humans'. It's a bit of a 'what have you done for me lately' situation with Aisha, but also that she draws a very hard line around whom she counts as her inner circle. So things will get better once both Aisha and Tou have established some trust.

Finally, while thinking about Aisha, it just occurred to me that she's rather susceptible to praise. She's pretty keen on positive reinforcement, so when it's directed at her, I think she'll respond to it well. Use that to your advantage as you will.

as Toussaint moving away from Mike (not necessarily from Christophe) because he was making him uncomfortable and also to address everyone else (instead of continuing whispering to Mike alone), not to move away for a sidebar, otherwise his back would have already been turned to Christophe, I guess. So I though he was unashamedly substituting his own pitch to Christophe in front of everyone.

Also, Christophe doesn't seem to have caught Tou's low speech to Mike, so perhaps he has no super-hearing and all his contraptions are really just garbage

I'd prefer to go with Wynamoinen's intent here. So if we were supposed to be side-barring already, I like the version of events as I construed them. While Christophe didn't react to Tou's low speech (good catch) that doesn't mean that he didn't actually hear every word too. He may have lost his cool (and his marbles) and given away his good hearing while listening to our sidebar, but I'm willing to attribute a bit of cunning to him. Whether or not his gadgets work, I like the idea that he could hear everything although we didn't mean to let him listen.

So, just to weigh in on the sidebar issue. Christophe responding to the speech in this post may have been an oversight of mine. I'm able to ret-con Christophe's response - it more or less leads to the same point anyway in regards to discussing the meat of his plan.

Depending on the exact retcon, I'd probably need to edit Aisha's post as well. Honestly, I'd enjoy it if we established some extra-good hearing on Christophe's part. Or would that mess up his character?

Even if it was an oversight, I'm happy to just roll with it.

It’s not a big deal to me if he overhears. Just a little awkward since the guy was being a dick to Tou for being a noob, and so Tou was trying to avoid revealing the depths of his inexperience.

Do we want to spin another round of posts discussing whether we want to get in bed with Christophe? Aisha would probably abstain in a show of hands unless she is pressured to join the voting, but as always she's going to give her counsel if it's requested.
